Nation Management, Open Land And Dynamic Borders

I just find it incredibly hypocritical to step up and pull a nation out of a similar situation, and then punish Malinor for being in the same predicament.

No one is punishing anyone.

I swear, sometimes I feel bad for the people here. You guys are taking mog's ic attitude and turning it into ooc. You guys complain about having no players, but you wuss out of a fight and lose your entire nation. I'm sure that loss scored you a lot of new players...

Though, just ripping on a group isn't fair so I'll provide an example of the right thing to do. The Orcs were just as bad off as you guys, yet they fought. When the church invaded the orcs they actually fought back. They raid the forts almoat daily, some successful some not. Nevertheless, they have rebounded in players and where they used to be able to gather 20-30 they can now gather 30-40 for a pre planned battle. That is a HUGE increase in people.

You may say to this that whaaaa the orcs have more history in fights we were cheated whaaaaa. Well, for the survival of a nation everyone should fight, you say your economy is ****, well enlist trade partners. Also, as far as Im aware you guys still have a trade agreement with the dwarves, you give us four stacks of logs we give you 100 iron. That 100 iron supplies almost four guys in iron armor and swords.

Not everyone on the server likes PVP or has the server connection to do it very well. Many of them gather in Malinor because it is a different roleplay experience than just getting constantly attacked. It just isn't that easy to get players who don't fight to get up and fight.

It isn't easy? Defensing and preserving your nation isn't suppossed to be easy. It's suppossed to be work.

With this system, how are nations supposed to fight for land? Currently I only see this new system as an obstacle, limiting, if not killing all RP based on land claiming and warring over territories.

Because the land won't be regioned, so if you force a group out of their nation you can almost immediately start tearing down buildings. For regioned land though, it will be business as usual

Malinor is going to have a revival. And it is going to get there kicking and screaming. Because nothing on this server is easy, and you either have to adapt, or become increasingly irrelevant in a changing landscape. It is going to be hard and painful because Malinor has very few people, and many of those left don't want to change, they want the rest of the world to change for them. Well, the fact is, the world doesn't give a crap about Malinor. So hold on folks, its going to be a terrifying ride. But trust me, it is going to be worth it.
