[PLACED ON HOLD]

((Unfortunately, I'm going to have to put the project on hold. My patron and I decided it would be best to wait until the war is over to begin recording its history. I also have a wife array of other writing projects that I've come to realize must come first. I apologize to those of you who hoped to take part, but I don't think we'll be capable of getting enough support until I and the important combatants have the time. After all, why write history while the exciting present is still ongoing? I hope to return to the topic of the war as a whole, not just a single battle.))

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As thunder cracks over the Emperor's Holy Realm, the great raven spreads its dark wings over the earth. However, this night, a dozen other black birds fill the air. The hardy messenger crows of The Krelm cross the night sky, carrying a message to key lords and sovereigns of great significance to the great "Orener Civil War". Letters are carried to the "Dread Lord" of Blackmont, the "Rose King" of Kaedrin, and the Hochmeister of Hanseti any many more. In conjuncture, men in dark cloaks, black, red, and yellow badges post similar messages over the major settlements of Oren, including Abreesi and Kingston. Word spreads quickly, as something along the lines of the following message is spread across the realms of men.

Blackmonts, Sariants, Roses, and any other captains and soldiers of significance,

Diedrik Barrow, reader and writer of House Carrion is calling for the cooperation of all veterans of the "Battle for the Dreadfort". I am seeking firsthand accounts of the battle to record in a compilation of said accounts. All men are welcome to come forth and tell their tale, whether by word of mouth or through the birds of Oren. While I myself fought within the walls of the Dreadfort, all soldiers and captains are welcome to provide their stories for compilation. I am a historian, and I shall thus record history as befits the truth. Bias plays no part in my records, and on my honor as a God fearing man, no accounts shall be tampered with. Come forth, and make it known you wish to provide us your tale if you so desire to be heard.

The message is brought specifically to the great captains, lords, and kings of the battle, though the rumor of such a tome spreads quickly all across Oren.

((Well, I'll get down to the facts. I'm hoping to compile a record of the last battle. I figured it would be fun, and fairly easy work for all those you want to participate. Maybe in a few years when we're all but a memory on LotC, new players will read the story and remember the Rosemonts and Sariants that fought in such a great fight. I hope to get a short account from all the major commanders in the battle, from both sides. I've yet to determine how long I should request each account to be; first I want to get an idea on how many people will volunteer to write.

All participants will have a section in the book for themselves and any who fought next to them. Meaning, there will be a spot for the King of Roses, his banner lords, his knights, and bannermen. Another will be done for Blackmont and all their men-at-arms and assorted allies. Another for the Sariants of Hanseti and those under their command as well as House Green, the Shields of Salvus, etc. I may even have to divide the book into several volumes to accommodate each side and/or faction within it. The book will be placed in a google doc and later posted after it's complete.

I highly encourage any players who want to help me edit the book in regards of format, forwards, organization, artwork, and all other things that naturally coincide with a piece of literature to send me a PM and offer their help. This task isn't overly large, though I would like to know that I'm not going in alone.

DISCLAIMER: It is in your full right to not respond and have nothing to do with this work. I understand if you believe that bias may be placed into this piece; I did fight on the side on the Dreadfort, and I know that each side had its prideful moment. However, I assure you OOCly, that no account will be edited and any content outside of the recollections will be kept at a minimal and can be changed if faction leaders object. I hope to be fair and impartial towards both sides. I will request however, that participants stick to the facts of the battle, and avoid topics that may incite a flame war. We know each side regards the battle as a victory, we know that each side has a healthy dose of "nationalistic pride". Please, remains respectful and don't push any ooc boundaries. Recall it as your character would.

This all being said, I invite all those that commanded, took part in, or witnessed the battle to shoot me a PM informing your intent to participate in this great undertaking. Keep your stories to yourself first though; I'd like to figure out how many people we have interested. I may attempt to organize a sort of meeting of leaders to decide how to format the book, how many accounts should be in it, the length of them etc. Again, I strongly recommend all persons wishing to help with the project PM me as well. Thanks for reading my walls of text, and go in peace and war to serve your Emperor as rightly as you believe!))

I am going to post a video of snippets from the battle soon, you may not want it in this post but look for it later and you can get a good sense of what happened. If you are really lacking of people to write your tales however PM me and I would be more then glad to write one up for you))

((I'm currently taking the names of ANYONE who would be interested. No need to not volunteer just because your a footslogger. Half the book will be the stories of those fellows. Please, don't post any accounts just yet. Send me a PM and let me know if your interested so I can get a head count on how many. I'll post numbers on the OP as they come in.))

Lord Carrion: "Head out to the Dreadfort! Carrion are stronk!"

Sabri: "Got your back jack. Teutons be crazy."

Several elven hours pass of simply standing in the throne room. Eventually Sabri is ordered to use a secret exit to flank the Teutons, but he gets trapped in some kind of poorly designed murder waterfall and dies.

((I would advise all previous posters to reread the top of the OP, for my recent edition. Once more, I do apologize.))
