I would refute every point about everything, but it's pretty obvious that I can refute every point on both sides.

EVERY point can be refuted, so stop trowing out points that have been made over and over and over again.

Good pvp needs OOC skill -> Good rp needs OOC skill

Rp fighting takes too long -> Pvp fighting takes too little

There is so much powergaming on rp -> So many things that would be powergaming in rp don't seem to matter in pvp

OOC bickering in rp fights -> OOC bickering because the person lost, called for hacks, someone else entered the fight and so forth

PVP brings fear of death -> PVP has knockout plugin, rp and pvp death are now the same

RP brings forth a lot of strike reports -> PVP makes others able to be complete jerks by forcing them into something they don't like, nor care to do.

In PVP you don't rp the injuries of a fight, you lose and die, or win and have no injuries -> Who the hell rp's injuries suffered in rp?

For pvp you need a good connection, and a mouse (can't pvp right on laptops without a mouse), if someone crashes middle of pvp he gets banned -> That's not true (Sorry I can't find a way to refute this one with logic, or with an argument against rp...) (wait got it) To play LOTC you need a pc, you need internet and that pc has to have a mouse or mousepad, there is nothing stopping you from pvp'ing.

And for those saying this post is filled with logical falicies... That's the point of it, to show that anything can be refuted by making stupid claims that have nothing to do with each other. Stop bickering on the internet, no one is going to change their minds because of a post, expecially when you use logical falicies over and over and over again.

Ironically enough, the RP-PvPers are typically much better at handling themselves and don't, as they say, QQ all the time.

Even this point can be refuted Gaius.

I think that should be enough no? Every point can be refuted.

[edit] Or the fact that I made a post about how talking against each other is useless the way it's being done, and then I get a response saying that one side is better than the other. Both sides are at fault, both sides have a LOT of problems, and you all are just bickering with each other about it instead of trying to reach a middle ground like you did. But with a 3 way vote, of course your point won't work, why? Because the players are more afraid of losing the type of rp they like best, then trying to reach a middleground where both are alright.

As I said, typically, in other words; more RP-PvPers will be capable of good sportsmanship than RP fighters. I did not say all, so I don't really believe you refuted me validly. Likewise, Cyndikate RP-PvPs? Or is she just supporting it and you throw her name out there because you expect her 'bad name' to prove something?

Buzzword of the week: refute.

People should just go with the flow and see how the new system rolls. If we get a huge negative response, we're not going to make players suffer for some intangible reason.

Supposedly the Armageddon is coming to the internet, I thought the Antichrist was the NSA but supposedly it is RP-PvP with rules and exceptions :3

Operation PRISM?

Oh... player emnity... roleplay-fighting at the inception? Obviously not!

Pvp Returns, It's Surely Miraculous!

I run 10 FPS with optifine. Laggy wireless keyboard and mouse. On a 4-5 year old laptop.

As I stated multiple times, lag does help. Your hit-box is a devil to actually register damage on.

It's not what it seems like to me. I'd rather have 200 FPS before I even go into a war on this server.

FPS lag is not latency lag. Bad FPS does make you marginally worse at PvP. Latency is a grey area.

I would PvP with low FPS, I'm a honey badger when it comes to winning and losing.

Exactly, there is plenty of videos and topics throughout the Internet discussing this.

I see what you are saying Jistuma and I didn't want my middle-way Nirvana system to be presented until after the initial poll [my Internet crashed before I could tell Danny]. Ultimately, if RP-PvP was instated, it will most likely follow my model as I am glad mature players are willing to hit that compromise button.

You complain about role-play fighting creating so much drama during fights... Who complains about that... PvPers.

But yet, when PvP becoming default comes up, 45 pages of drama appear within 24 hours. Is that not a bit contradictory?

Imagine the drama which will come from making PvP default. Half the server will still be unhappy and it will still cause this much drama.

Furthermore, the sentence "Deal with it in RP" will no longer be valid, for RP will become essentially PvP in conflict situations. I much prefer a long intense and brain using fight to a click fest which takes less than a minute which will end with that one who is better at PvP.

The plugin seems great and all, but that is useful for wars. Small scale combat should be kept to RP as it is at a smaller scale and each strike counts for something.

Here's the thing Lego... whilst it's nice saying that tons of drama popped up for a PvP change, it's merely the fact that the community can't stand change. It'll always be that way, people are naturally against change and there will be a negative perception of it all the time. I could say the same about pages of drama popping up when we made the drastic change to rp combat default.

I'm beginning to see many pages of people using the word 'click fests' and you're wrong. There's going to be far more to combat than putting on a full suit of armor and sword and hacking at the enemy. Watch the livestream and realize what CoreMechanics is going to do for you.

Each strike will count for something. There will be quite a few tactics involved, and sprint-jumping/spam-clicking are actually going to make you suffer. Whereas now it doesn't matter, with the plugin every strike counts, and needs to be thoroughly planned during the battle.

Lag helps you in PvP, I am not sure how many times we will have to say that.
