Cjmate 1270 Share Posted August 6, 2013 I do not think that gms should be selling anything in the first place, and I find it unfair that 'nations' get exclusive access to the horses. Make the spawn and breed rates low and let them be spawned in plain biomes. Give everyone a fair chance at trying to aquire horses and do not give them to specific people to deal with. aron. 427 Share Posted August 6, 2013 First I love the /walk command, although would it be compatible with riding horses? That. Is. Brilliant.
Acornlad 206 Share Posted August 6, 2013 Horses to everyone, just let them mc spawn and people tame them. Honestly this should be used to sort out our problem of taking a long time to get to capital. For example 7-10 minutes of sprint jumping down the road to get to Kal'Azgoth. The Gm village is a bridge to OOC anyway, and now we're using them to sell horses? Just let the players sort it out, I mean in some cases we need Gm's to sort things out. But I hardly think that horses in Minecraft require Gm's to hold us by the hand and sell us horses. So just let them spawn a lot and the players can sort the rest out. It doesn't make sense for everyone to have horses and if everyone does it completely changes the dynamic of combat as horses have nearly twice the HP if not more. We can't have militaries of entirely cavalry.
Yoff 328 Share Posted August 6, 2013 Lot of people did have horses back then, granted a peasant had to sell his soul for one but it was so useful that just about every family would have one. I could be wrong, I'm literally basing this in just about every medieval-themed movie I've watched.

I could be wrong, I'm literally basing this in just about every medieval-themed movie I've watched. Movies are rarely tantamount to reality. Horses aren't cheap. I don't get why people seem to think everyone had a horse. They didn't. The major beast of burden was the more commonly available ox. Horses were a status item as much as transportation, if not more-so. Even 'low-breed' horses, your roughed up, swaybacked, fleabitten old nag would have cost you an arm. Anyone who's actually been involved in equestrian activities, real ones, not rent a pony ones, know how much work dips into them. Most of the 'peasant' horses themed in movies didn't belong to true peasants either. They belonged to 'lower middle class' peasants. Basically, they're the poor people that live in a house, and not a trailer. They're still poor, but not as poor as others. TL:DR; Movies are lies. Don't believe a thing they show you. Also you have to feed and groom horses, just have general care. Which costs a lot of money. Which is why horses should be limited-cause we don't have to feed them and such. The Cleaning Crew 571 Share Posted August 7, 2013 The fourth idea. Make horses cost, like, 1000 minas. Not everyone has 1000 minas to spend. Also, I don't seem to be able to cast my vote. It tells me that I have to answer every question, but there's only one.

Valdis 38 Share Posted August 8, 2013 i find horses should be regulated but not to the extent to were it is almost impossible for someone to get one without being of importance, it would indeed make traveling more enjoyable, but the horses should be earned, just not too expensive or hard to get. Ender_Panda13 78 Share Posted August 20, 2013 I like idea 3, its the most closest to my idea I thought up of, only instead of players I said races/regions get to raise certain breeds. wont go into detail here, just check out the topic I made in the idea thread if you want to hear it. (Since i don't want to fill a whole page up with my idea, which would probably happen ) http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/95191-horses-for-allleave-your-ideas-too/
Imperial Legion Soldier 34 Share Posted August 21, 2013 I think certain players (such as ones who RPly already have horses,) should be given them and be able to sell them, but also have Rhia sell some. The certain breeds also seems kind of cool.
