A Halfling Cries To The Adunians

Amidst the confusion and shouting in the Adunian village of High Oak, several Halflings stand. There are a few Ladyhobbits, and definitely some Gentlehobbits. As smoke rises all around them, a red-headed Halfling named Wilbur Took steps forward from the crowd and begins to shout at King Lachlan Mor Elendil.

"Was it not too long ago that you and your people were looking for land? Have you forgotten the time you've spent fighting to become a land of your own? You must have, for you have wronged us Hobbitfolk just like you were wronged! You've taken our land, like yours has been taken in the past! You, KING, have become just what you've fought to overcome..."

After his outburst, his cheeks red and his eyes nearly tearing up, he shuffles back into the crowd of rounded up Halflings, awaiting the punishment on the Little Folk that is bound to happen before long.

*Lachlan looks out over the burning village and says aloud. "We've done no such thing! We didn't burn, or rape or whatever it is ye' say! You did not bother to come and say that there was a border dispute, you burned the village anyways!"

Five figures clad in dark grey and forest green mottled robes, hoods and masks up stand behind the Halfings, in evident support

Bows were strung up, arrows casually nocked as a gesture

Richard Tarus stands among the halflings, seeming to be a figure that is much taller and holding a staff.

He owes them after they gave him a home, and in favor, he assists them where he can, although Richard greatly wished to avoid this sort of situation.

Gavin stands beside his king, watching the horde of little people whom attacked his lands after his hard work keeping the demonic hordes away from the lands. He shakes his head slowly, a small frown under his helmet as his blade rests on his shoulder. He stands listening to the two sides argue as he looks to the burned away crops on his right, finally he plunges his blade into the dirt. He unstraps his helmet pulls it off, tucking it under his arm. He coughs lightly before talking above the fighting crowd.

"Little men, this is how you repay the years of work gone into pushing back the demonic scourge? I've been fighting for almost all my seventy-four years alive, all for men with no appreciation. And I've watched many good lads die far too young for far too little! I'm sick of fighting these demons, and I'm sick of the lack of care we all share for each other within these lands! We are all living and breathing creatures upon this land! And we are all at threat of the demon invasion! Why must we quarrel? There is no reason for this! This could have been spoken of before hand! Your folk say you disliked the wall? So you burn it down? Is this anyway to act? This would be compared to me saying I dislike your in ground homes and farms of vast size! Then burning it all down! How would you enjoy this? How would you feel of this? I hope you are ashamed of this foul act, and I should call back all men here defending the Northern borders and even abandon the plans for siege against the demons! But I shall not pull back the countless amount of fathers and sons dying because I understand there are better people in the land! Even though you folk wish to destroy, and feel nothing but greed within you I shall not stoop to your level! Because I know that my oldest friend on this damned land shall not have died in vain!"

The grey beard on his face shows his frown well, he looks at each and every person around and mumbles.

"There is no hope for this land..."

He puts his helmet on and turns, stomping away as guards in bandages come with buckets, yelling and trying to douse the flames.

((First bridges now walls, methinks the Adunians need to build with less flammable material))

Lark Steelwall stands across the river with many other strelts watching the Halflings shout at the Adunians. He wedges his planted sword and pulls it out to and heads to the smithy.

Bango Blackfoot stands beside his kinfolk, slurping down a bowl of mushroom stew and paying no mind to the settling smoke and ash in front of them.

"What was tha' pots 'n' pans covered feller ramblin' on about? Was he sayin' scourge or sausages. Thought I 'eard sausages. Smelled like thar was some cookin', so figured I ought ter come have a looksee."

He smiles sagely at the wall-mongers gathered and continues, looking them in the eye.

"What it compares ter is burnin' down an ole rotten log full of fire ants on account o' they's makin' our feets itch. Only ants is more useful ter us, as they sometimes et th' caterpillars."

Viscount Sonn Ander Simply watches as the halflings burn down his lovely palisade. After they have finished lighting it he wonders how it has not spread to their own forests. After dismissing the thought he strolls down the steps near the stone wall to speak to one of the leaders of the halflings.

"Little people.  I would cut off your head, Halfling, if it stood but a little higher from the ground. Anyway, Perhaps you can tell me why instead of coming to speak to me about this you decided to take matters into your own hand and start a fire in my town. Where innocents live. You have wronged me, And I do not know why... So enlighten me"
