A good step, now we will see how people will use the lands!

(If you start to build a town in the forest, where once was kastoria, i destroy it with trees. Because that's a part of the forest...it destroys everything...)

 

The Magical Forest of Doom will destroy all! Wahahahaha!!!

I have an idea Mr.Ever sir! How about the newly formed settlements must first prove a certain level of activity to the GM team before they can be granted the freedom to build a wall? That way not every little place will have a wall and it will promote/reward players to stick together instead of spreading out.

I personally love the idea of unregioning areas. I provides a whole knew sense of RP for many things. (i.e. People can build a small cabins to live in, and they don't need to know region owners to do so.) I think unregioning will make room for creativity and give people on this server more options. Especially new players, because when I first joined I was frustrated about why I couldn't get wood from a uninhabited area. That had two people "owning" it. I thank everyone that was involved in this choice, because it will greatly improve the role-playing experience I have, and hopefully others appreciate it as much as I do.

To be honest.. A 'wall' isn't necessary for most villages and small towns either. And only cities tend to have large 'stone walls'.

Smaller places could just make use of hedges or fences.

What's the issue with that? Didn't the Delvers declare themselves a nation... ? Playermade nations aren't an issue. If they take large tracts of land, THAT'S an issue.

 

The goal of this is to get more people on the roads/roleplaying in general. If a nation pops up, well... just give the Orcs a ring. They like smashing nations.

Wonders how many "Underground" camps will spring up over night.....

 

Besides that thought, its a wonderful idea. I have always believed that its better to make the server more open and free and punish the evil doers than it is to restrict everyone so no evil can be done.

 

Let us hope this is a path to magic as well, Magic roleplay, while crazy and overdone at times in Aegis. Certainly produced better stories.

 

Show me the subtype that allows a king to eat his wife whole, then find me a pen to sign me up.

I can only applaud that the staff is stepping up their game and showing some strong character, enough about discussion and pandering to the player-base. Sometimes hard decisions have to be made. So you have my cheers for doing something good and productive with the server.

 

If this carries on then we might escape this thick black fog that have been shrouding the server for a while now.

Nothing will change if we don't take the first step. A few trees might have to go, but there's twenty more (all identical, mind you) in the same area.

Right, I wasn't going to be a Danny Downer (Not calling out Danny or anything), I was just voicing my concern. I wasn't in Aegis, so I don't know how this will go. I'm sure it'll be fine :D

Easier to make temp tent camps for the Mercs now ^^  The land is going to get real ugly real quick but oh well, it was fun in Aegis despite the eye sore.
