A Calling Of Druids

Grand Druid Verden raises a hand to garner attention.

"We already discussed the issue of Grand Druid during the last moot, and it was decided by the Arches of the Malinor circle, the Elders of the Equinox circle, and just recently our Wayward brother that I was to be appointed to the position." He turns, nodding to everyone, "Everyone is in agreement, unless there is another candidate which might be more suitable."

The Druid shakes his head-"What of the other circle?  Do not all three circles get a vote? Is not the Wayward Druid a Hierophant, as I, belonging not to any circle?"

Aryla rushes in, wincing as she sees she is quite late and dashes towards Leyun, hugging herself softly she quickly sits beside the girl and snuggles into her.

"Did I miss anything...?"

Ol' Treehugger walks into the room, blowing an obscene amount of smoke from his pipe into the moot room. Standing there for a bit, he walks over to a seat and sits down.

The Druid shakes his head-"What of the other circle?  Do not all three circles get a vote? Is not the Wayward Druid a Hierophant, as I, belonging not to any circle?"

Verden nods, accepting of the point, "I would rather Respiren speak of his own accord, but he is viewed as the unofficial figurehead of the third circle by many. With that said, if the circles wish to cast another vote for someone else then I will abide by their request."

"The Equinox Elders support Verden's bid." the Druid says quietly. "Our vote is unanimous, and since the Arches of this infernal Circle have agreed, let it be so." His eyes dart between each of the attending Druids, gliding over the non-members as if they were invisible. "The vote from the Third Circle appears to be missing... but since their defacto leader has approved Verden, there does not seem to be a problem."

Wolf Druid Ouity rests against the wall, his staff slung casually against his chest. He eyes Gavin with loathing as he speaks, clearly angered by his words. "One of these days, I hope something heavy knocks ye off of yer high horse, Gavin." He rumbles. Ouity looks about the room, his gaze lingering on Verden. "The Sunshine Druid makes a worthy Grand Druid, far better than brother song, who ye suggested, who barely shows his nose in our dealings anymore, hm?" He takes a verbal jab at Gavin, hoping to spice up the moot, which in his mind, and mirrored in his face, is nothing more than pointless reiteration of what has already been said.

"I dannae know why this moot has even been called, if everybody is already in agreement. Seems best not to drag those who have no wish to be here in."

Leyun looked to Aryla as the woman took a seat next to her. "You didn't miss anything. We've only just started."

Turning her gaze out to the rest of the moot, Leyun spoke up to the collected druids. "There are things I would like to discuss with the Malinor circle, but those can wait until we have finished with the things that need all circles present. Without Respiren's circle being present, though, I don't know what we'll accomplish on the subject of Grand Druid that hasn't already been done at the last moot."

* A small chirruping bird alights upon the Wilting Staff, on his outstretched leg, a note is neatly furled, tied with a grassy bow.

"I send word from the Cloud Temple, soon we shall be called upon by the monks to guide those saplings yet to take root in the land of Anthos, to sow a tree within their sacred abode 'n share nature's providence with those in need.

Brother Sunshine hath traveled 'neath the shadow of our canopy. A vow to bring harmony to our Order 'n to sow the seeds of our old ways upon his lips. In this he carries our blessing. Let any Archdruid promising to outshine Verden in this speak now, call a Moot to initiate the Challenge for Granddruid.

May the Aspects guide us,

~Wayward Druid Respiren "

Verden folds his arms, looking to Arik and the note he reads.

"Shall we continue to argue a point which has already been settled, or can we finally speak of other issues?"

Curiously a message would arrive by bird and be dropped before the Druid of Song. It would read a message both short and simple:

Your kind have invaded the land of the mali'aheral once more. It would do you well to help us rectify this.

~ Kalenz Uradir, Sohaer of Haelun'or.

Elorna raises a brow and lifts her head to watch the message-bearing bird fly off. She turns her curious attention once more to the Song Druid and sits up a little a straighter in an attempt to catch a glimpse at the words.

The Autumn Druid chuckles at Ouity's comment. "Hopefully it shan't be you who knocks me off my horse, Brother, because that would be disastrous."

Turning to the rest of the assembled, he continues. "Brother Song was indeed my first choice. Older and wiser in the ways of the Order.... but perhaps that is not what the Druids need right now. Perhaps the Order needs a breath of new life, and Verden's added responsibility does just that. With the three Circles still going strong after almost a year, it seems we have done what the previous generations could not. We have divided the Order, and yet have not faltered in our purpose."

"Give yourselves a pat on the back, folks, we're making history." he smiles, sitting back comfortably.
