"Ehh? Since when was Rivian women allowed t'own properteh?" Pisspot grumbles as one of his literate soldiers relayed the news to him, "Yew 'ave got t'be jokin'. Rivian women're meant t'be good 'ousewives, not businessmen selling shops!"

"At least it's an Azor lass... God forbid we had a Daftwood woman in charge o' sumfin." He declares, clambering atop his horse and trotting away.

Aloisia fears for when Pisspot hears that she is also the lady treasurer.

  2. Aloisia beamed, pride filling her chest as she strode about the quaint but lovely shop. "Oh it will be ever so lovely, Lady Vespira! We must see to hiring you a proper saleswoman too of course..." and so, the young woman drifted off into her thoughts. How bright their future shall be!

    ABOUT THE TREASURY

The Royal Treasury of Oren manages the finances of the Kingdom of Oren. It makes sure that there is a steady income and a financial pillow, in case the kingdom falls on hard times. Our treasurers work tirelessly in order to keep the ledgers organised.

    Bank Accounts

The Royal Treasury of Oren keeps strict records of their finances. Nothing goes unrecorded, and for that reason, many Orenians see the Royal Treasury as an excellent place to store their money tax free.
A lot of people store their money in the Cloud Temple Bank. In exchange for their banking services, the Monks of the temple charge 1% of the stored money per year. This is not the case when people store their money in the Royal Treasury of Oren. We charge neither tax nor interest from your stored funds and you are able to withdraw or deposit any amount of money at any time.
To create a bank account in the Royal Treasury, simply contact one of the treasurers and inquire about getting one. The only condition is that you make an initial deposit of 500 royal marks. You are able to withdraw or deposit any amount of marks after the initial deposit.

    Excise Tax

Excise Tax is the tax that landowners of Oren pay annually to cover for their estates, keeps, farms, etc. Usually the tax will have a flat rate of 100 Royal Marks per year, but more or less is also quite possible. The Royal Treasury ensures that every peer pays their taxes in time.

If you are a peer and unsure on how you are able to pay your taxes, follow these simple instructions:

Walk into the Great Orenian Financial Building in the square. Take a right and head into the Excise Tax office. Check the tax barrels, make sure there is one for your property. Check how much you owe per year. Walk over to the royal excise tax slip shop and buy enough tax slips to cover your taxes. Put the tax slips into the barrel labelled with your property’s name. And Done!

Alternatively, you are able to have an Auto-Paying Bank Account set up by the Treasury Staff. All you have to do is to fill it with enough Royal Marks to cover for your taxes for any amount of time.

    STRUCTURE OF THE TREASURY

The hierarchical structure of the treasury is as follows:

    I. The Lord/Lady Treasurer
    * Oversees the income, bank accounts and manages the work of the treasury employees.

    II. The Deputy Treasurer
    * When the Lord Treasurer is unavailable, the Deputy Treasurer jumps in to take over. Other than that, the deputy’s duties are similar to those of a Treasury Aide.

    III. Treasury Aide
    * Tends to excise tax and bank account withdrawals and deposits.

    JOB APPLICATIONS

The Royal Treasury of Oren is seeking Treasury Aides. If you are interested, please consider writing a letter to the Lady Treasurer so that she may review your application and possibly invite you to an interview.

Not sure why this guy's issues are being blown off instead of being looked into. Maybe a few conversations would help him out, rather than people just making fun of him for feeling like he isn't welcome? I've seen Lion and Chenn already offer to speak with him.

And also, there are PLENTY of 'terrible people' still around in that community. But birds of a feather flock together and tend not to rat eachother out.

point them out to leadership with sufficient evidence. im also not blowing over his issue, im simply replying to sth someone else said. i also dont think my 2 cents concerning his issue are needed since lion and chenn alrdy replied

    PREAMBLE

From our first day in the Empire the mercy of Philip III has outshone all. When the first settlers of the Imperial frontier arrived before Philip, it was he and he alone who would offer us refuge after years of exile and wandering. For him we folk of Arichsdorf bled and died in the waters of Southbridge, we stood by the Emperor and pushed back the coalition from the lands of Lower Petra.

If Philip had asked we would have cast ourselves from the highest cliff with a smile on our faces. Not only was he the saviour of the Empire. But he was the Saviour of the Grenzfolk. To him there could be no question of loyalty, and from him any command would be obeyed.

But for all the skill and power of one of the last titans of humanity, an Emperor fit to stand amongst the ranks of the venerable generation of stories heroes who now graced the history books of humanity, Philip was still a man.

Inheriting a rotting edifice with foundations of sand, it was by sheer force of will alone that the Empire was held together. With the help of Arichsdorf and of Blackvale, Philip was able to restore the Empire perhaps not to its former glory, but to stability. But Philip was still a man.

The vipers of the Imperial Court and the sloth ever hungry maw of the Providential mob could not be sated. For all of his efforts against foreign foes, his true enemies came from within. Snakes in the dark and conspirators gnawing at the roots of the Empire, for them the Empire was not a grand mission of civilization, one to which one would sacrifice everything. To these traitors the Empire was merely a fatted calf from which they could feast whilst its back was turned.

And feast they did. With the various courtly eunuchs and nobles of the pen gorging themselves on the fruits of Empire while the hinterlands burned.

Surely this could not stand. Recognizing the taint of doom on the future of the Empire, the Highfolk of Arichsdorf approached the throne. They noted that the Empire was surely to fall into civil war upon the death of the mighty Emperor, and that there were none fit to succeed him to the Imperial throne.

After over twenty years of war, the lords of the Westlands did not see it fit to subject their people to yet further horror. The civil wars of the East were to be the affairs of the men of the East, and the mob of Providence. Thus, with the blessing of the Imperial Throne, did they see fit to strike out on their own. Raising the banner of civilization and hope in the west; that it may give hope to all those who love the dream of Godfrey.

The reclusive Lady Anastasie de Provins thought back on the venomous, velvet-clad noblewomen she had met during her childhood within the Aster Hall, a goblet filled with Pruvian Port held tightly within her frail, ghastly hands - one Laurentina Helvets sticking out sorely in the aging Provinois' mind. She recalled vividly too the wild cries of, "Philip the Great," within the throne room of San Luciano, for which she admitted partial responsibility. How foolish she had been, to declare an Emperor great before he even sat his throne; and how mistaken she had proven to be.

Laurentina wonders who this girl is

  8. Laurentina sought out Manfred after the deed was done to talk about what happened. She expressed to him just how proud she was of him. "Never again shall you have to live that way. Never again shall your ancestry be dishonored. Miserable years shall await that mutt of a king."

For decades now, gossip columns have caused great strife between the debutantes of the Empire. Who would write such things? How could such unbelievable and often false rumors exist? Why has no one done anything against them? I for one, would be delighted if those cowardly authors that hide behind their alias-names simply stopped releasing their unneeded and unwanted smear papers into the public.

And for that very reason, I shall release my own very first and very last paper on the presentation of the debutantes.

    HIH Lorena Theodosia of Furnestock

An impeccable presentation was made by the Empress's second youngest daughter herself. She is sure to make her house and her parents proud.
Lorena, who is a beautiful person from the inside out, has gotten some horrible press by an anonymous coward in the past. Damn them, I say - for no one truly pure of heart would dare to write such vile things about a lady they probably have never spoken to before. To you, Princess Lorena, I may only offer my simplest advice: Do not listen to what those fools say about you.

    Miss Octavia Eleanor de Sarkozy

There is nothing that I could complain about during this young lady’s presentation. Both her manners and her posture were on point. It is most delightful to see someone from the house Sarkozy bring their name such honor.

    Miss Heloise Therese Halcourt

Miss Halcourt always knows how to make a spectacle of herself, it seems. And so, she rode into the courtroom on her steed, clad in all armor and holding an orenian flag. While this was a creative way that should have captured the Empress's attention, the fact that she entered the hall without having been called upon beforehand did cause quite a bit of a scene. The Empress’s scolding aside and ignoring the fact that Miss Heloise has written a horribly distasteful hymn to the late Duke of Cathalon, one may even call her presentation good.

    Miss Fable

Miss Fable is certainly one of the most interesting ladies this season. Her presentation was impeccable, as were her manners. The fact that she is an automation does not make this any different. Good on her, I say!

    Lady Louise Marguerite de Savoie

Truly worthy of becoming a ruby in her own right, Lady Louise dazzled the court with her energetic walk and her bright smile. There is no doubt in my mind that this young woman shall also impress the courts in the future.

    Miss Keishara Daystar

Despite having called the Empress a ‘Highness’ instead of ‘Majesty’, this young elfess has seemingly captured the heart of those watching the debutantes. There is only one thing that cast a shadow on her presentation, being when someone screamed bloody murder in the middle off it. Yikes!

    Miss Esmé Luthier

Even before the debutantes were presented, Miss Esmé has done her very best to impress. It comes as no surprise that her debut was simply flawless and went over well. The only thing one could criticize would be her very vocal sponsors that were mistaken to be the Princess Imperial. However it is only natural to be proud to sponsor one such naturally charismatic and hardworking young lady.

    Lady Amber Munnel

The Heiress of the recently elevated Barony of Brighthill carried herself well. It is safe to say that there is a lot we may expect from this young lady in the future. I am certain her parents are proud of her, for I certainly would be if this lady were my daughter.

    Miss Isabelle Bennett

The first of the two Bennett sisters is a confident young girl that delighted the court in her fashion choice. A fantastic debut all in all, there is once again nothing that I could complain about. It is no surprise to me that she was one of the three ladies that were especially complimented by the Empress, becoming the season’s ruby. Surely her sponsors, the Vuillers, are proud.

    Miss Lynette Bennett

The second of the Bennett sisters appeared a little nervous, but she as well managed to impress the court by her perfect manners. She and her sponsors - the Vuillers - ought to be proud that she managed to impress the lot in the way she did.

    Miss Rose Obedia

A beautiful young woman with raven hair, the second-last debutante did well on her walk down that dreaded aisle. Her only little mistake was calling the Empress ‘Highness’ - something that the latter quickly shrugged off as a woman with grace does.

    Lady Katerina Angelika de Sarkozy

A strong lady through and through, Katerina decided to debut in mourning clothes. She has been recently widowed and the death of her older brother certainly weighs heavily upon her. Regardless, she did her walk with beauty and grace. I wish her all the best for the future.

Notably, none of these comments were overly negative. Why would they be? All in all, each and every single one of you did well. They practiced and worked hard for this day. To have it ruined by a sour gossip column written by some unhappy old hag is simply not necessary. And so, I implore you, ladies and gentlemen of the courts: Do not waste your time tearing others down.
You are all rubies - why cast shadows on each other when you should instead spend your time trying to polish yourselves, so that you may shine bright together?

    Signed,

Laurentina of Cathalon, Margravine von Arichsdorf

  10. As one of her oldest friends passed away, Laurentina couldn't help but to shed a tear. The lady saddled her steed and rode all the way out to Pompourelia as to comfort her best friend, Joseph's wife, Catherine and their many children. "Stay strong, it will be alright. He's in the skies now."

  11. "These papers are not only disgusting and hurtful to those involved, but also cowardly." Laurentina turned to her husband. "If we find the author, we will have them beaten and their tongue torn out. It is only right so that they may no longer spew vile lies and misinformation. However knowing the cowardly snakes living in the courts, it is quite apparent that they will just vanish back into nothingness once the Astercalia is over."
