  2. Somewhere in the warm sunny sands far from the heart of Karosgrad and Haense, a young woman with tresses of silver and raven huddled up under a parasol receives a letter bearing her name - a parasol fitted above her to protect from the harsh rays from the borderline-tropical sun and bright blue sky. A cough, a choke, a splutter. "Shite."
  3. Within the lands of the newly-renamed lands of Jerovitz, Esfir Amelya Rose Kortrevich received her own letter - despite the laughing and screaming that echoed in the halls in front of her room, the heiress could only frown ever so softly. Chewing her bottom lip, a hand traced the words written upon the page of 'county' and 'Kortrevich' - naught but concern would fret upon her features, for reasons only known to herself.
  4. Hurriedly scampering to her desk within the Aulic Envoy's office, Esfir Kortrevich unfurled the latest edition of Ve Hearsay - only having gotten back from her Baliani trip. Unclasping a hand mirror, an awkward hand touched her pale cheeks and threaded her silver locks with a troubled frown. ". . . ea wonder if Mamej has any hair dye."

  6. Theodosya couldn't sleep for those days without notice, without word from either Ser Conrad, her father in law, or most importantly of all - her baby, her Rena, her daughter. Sleepless nights turned into weeks, as the bags under the woman's eyes only seemed to worsen then. She ignored the bed, the comfort of her husband, to brood on her own with a trusty bottle. As she sat on the rooftop as she so often did, the Barclay wondered. There was no way ... right? She was smart, she wouldn't do anything reckless. I trusted Conrad and Reinhardt to keep her safe - they wouldn't let me down. She's just as smart and as wise as that owl I got her all those years ago. Osha. Unbeknownst to her to the events that unfolded in the thicket of Krusev, her daughter and her owl would be no more. Perhaps in her heart, she knew what had happened - as she had tussled with that damned beast with her brother and lover before. The possibility rung and hum quietly in the back of her head, as she pleaded it not to be reality - yet the constant drone of it continued. She'd usually drop in a fit of rage, throwing object after object at something, anything, to feel some sort of ounce of control. Instead, there on the roof top, Theodosya Cecilya Barclay wept.

  11. Theodosya caught wind of the beast's sightings from her employees within the Hospital, storm-coloured eyes narrowing. Going to seek out the missive herself, a hand went to pinch the bridge of her nose with a contemplative grumble, recalling flashes of a forest, a town, and a man's scarred face. The hand went to fumble out a torn and worn paper with erratic scribbles of numbers and questions from her pocket, rubbing the ripped and stained edges in idle and tired thought. "Seems like the deed isn't finished."
  12. A cursed child attempted to pray through sobs for the safe passing of her friend, but found she could not. Small hands clutched the golden rosary with white knuckles in a vice-like grip. Words echo in her ears as she attempted to steel her cries - perhaps all He truly did was take.

  14. "I want you to have this. It's a good luck charm, and it'll keep you safe. When you're older, you can give it back to me and tell me who you became, and all the things you did." A coin is flipped in the cold Northern air, threatened only by the howling wind from the snowscape. It lands not on it's Head or it's Tail, but rather on the ribbed edge of the metal, caught in the cobble - undecided, and unwavering in its indecisiveness. An unequivocally near-impossible toss. A Cursed Child picked it up, staring at the faces of both man and woman for a moment before holding it close to her heart - eyes squeezed shut in silent prayer as the sizzle of flesh, dying coughs, and burning brick echoed in her ear. "..Ea hope vyr safe.. and doing well. Ea canniet wait to go on another adventure."

  16. "Funny how she only tells us these things after she went up and did them already." The thud of horse hooves hitting dirt could not ring and echo louder in Theodosya's head. Faster, faster, and faster evermore, but her steed could only go so far even with the woman's pleads. A bird has only arrived moments before the woman saddled her horse to travel towards the Attenlund, dirt kicking up with each clop from the steed.. Faster ... faster ... faster ... they flew across empty plains bordering the two Kingdoms at a rapid pace but not even the swiftest of horses could bring her closer to him, to the Nikolai she so lovingly abhorred with all her heart. He was the last thing that tethered them to this place, and by her hand, she would not let him go just yet. "Aye, maybe let her rest for a little while, da?" When the Surgeon General had got there, he was unconscious - still - horrifyingly quiet. It was the same as Johann's, but she didn't care for the Ludovar as much as she did in this moment. Everything and anything was tried - herbs, medication, injections - everything. Yet nothing came from it. He was asleep, within the Jerovitz gardens with his two children, and he'd sleep within the confines of the Keep's sturdy walls. The pleads for timelines and estimations overwhelmed her, but all she could advise was patience. "Please, please, stay safe." Not in the homely confines of the Prikaz apartments, with her slumbering husband and gleeful children running amok, the Barclay née Mondblume sat 'pon the top of her own private apartment - dress pooled on the glass roof of the garden, accompanied with only a bottle of booze away from the babes. Taking a hefty swig, steely blue eyes were glued to the Nikrala before a sharp roar sounded, followed by the shatter of glass, cut of flesh and flow of blood. SLEEP. THOSE LITTLE SLICES OF DEATH. HOW I LOATHE THEM SO.

  20. "Life is a never-ending show, except the minor detail that it ends." Theodosya found herself standing out in the throne room then, after her meeting with her uncle, The Koeng, Sigismund one last time. They had spoken, about trivial things about skincare and necklaces or sorts. They joked in a manner that was odd for this sort of occasion, one that was blank and empty and rather hollow - perhaps in a matter to deflect. Still, she couldn't help but be unable to shake off the feeling of what he had said before, replaying their conversation over, and over again. His ailing and tired face, still with the tiniest glimmer of pride and a smile. "But ... I am ... Happy, Theodosya." - "I'm ... ready to ... see them again." A gift bestowed unto him in memory of and from the late Petra - a woman she hated so with every part of her being, and would never be able to forgive - alongside a promise, that he told that he would be able to keep, though she knew it would and could never be done. The heart would still dream, no matter how childish the manner and how stupid the claim. "But even with - ... It seems like I've chosen a good Court Mage." He wouldn't have known what she would've offered him. If he had known, he wouldn't have wanted it at all, without a question, without a word. She had offered out of the goodness of her heart, or whatever there was left of it anyways. It conflicted the woman - she was willing to damn her uncle and strip him from his siblings just for a fleeting few moments left that the old man had. Would it have been wrong, for Theodosya to have wanted him to pick it, to know what he would've become for just a few more minutes, months, with his friends and family - to prolong the inevitable in exchange for a curse unholy enough to be the one thing he sought to destroy? Was it wrong for a lonely girl to give her uncle just one more chance? "Heh. I'll give this last act all that I've got." She'd never know now. The Lady Barclay née Mondblume stepped out past the doors of the Prikaz, and looked up at the afternoon sky - a tear pooling down her cheek from the ocean of many to come. Adjusting her scarf once more, there came with it the scent of heavy smokey incense and carrion - the fabric held within clenched fists, knuckles turning as white as snow and bone. THERE WAS A GOD . AND HE WAS THE CRUELEST OF THEM ALL .

  23. Arcelia Sirame had not been there to witness the Hyssop's death, the stab, the pure surge of energy, or the spectacles of the Mani pouring into the realm to cleanse the blighted land - but she had certainly felt it. A hush in the voices followed by a heavy heartache overtook the newly attuned, and tears were shed for the passing Sister. I knew you not well or at all, perhaps - but I knew only but one thing: that you would not fail, and that it would not be in vain.

  25. A brunette woman takes the missive floating in the air off the Urguani coast, brown and blue eyes scanning the paper with sarcastic amusement. "..-wonder how long this'll last, at least this one got publicly posted in comparison to the last I was apart of. Are they going to retrial all the people I certified in my youth? - Fuckin' better. Half of them are daft and the others have their head too far up their own asses." She took a deep breath and stuck her hand up towards a yellow boat. "-LANDA! YOU SEE THIS SHITE?-" @dove
