  1. Isabella's smile was one of uncontained glee for the times ahead. So many exciting things. Alas, the farfolk was trapped in her chambers; her meditations came first.
  2. Isabella's hands were keen to grasp at the long awaited letter. The Vizier of Wind's ear had already been poised to pick up on the slightest breeze from the doldrums of Lurin. A breath of fresh air at last. Edvard's capabilities reach far beyond that of a Sage of Hohkmat. I trust he will breath new life into his realm...
  3. The Grand King of Urguan is wise in the ways of the world. It is only a shame I've not the time to seek him out sooner for a drink. Isabella Sanz cast a glance back to the growing stores of Focus Crystals amassed at by the nonmagical Sanfi laborers of Hohkmat At least until then he can appreciate a well crafted fireball on the battlefield...
  4. Hohkmat's Vizier of Wind shuffled a series of missives together; all collected from the recent bout of chaos. She deftly filed them away so that she might realign the debacle in an similarly orderly and swift fashion.
  5. A tired Sorceress tutted to herself Perhaps none of us are truly so infallible. . . who among us can survive without a saving grace? She rubbed at her cheek as she reflected on all she had heard from behind closed doors and in front of public missive boards. The question was for no one, and she had already found her answer. Best to steal what little rest she could before she took action.
  6. Isabella stared intently at the missive. Her eyes flicked over the words multiple times, considering deeply the implications I prefer to contend with only one omen at a time. . . though I doubt the Astronomers in Haense were lucky enough to be watching the same star as I. . . she loosed a sigh, sinking back into her seat atop Hohkmat's observatory Perhaps if those muses of Hohkmat who I built this for were still alive... they would have stood a better chance against these puzzles...
  7. A view of Fort Drusco from atop the Coalition's Battlements at Notrebanc, East of Hohkmat; 1960 Isabella donned a regally colored and lavishly furred gambeson, old to her; a gift she had possessed for half of her life but rarely had the need for. She was by no means old in years, and one could question how much wisdom could be held in such a frail sickly farfolk who worked her body and mind to its limits. Nevertheless, she had found success, riding on the very fringe of what was possible. She strode along the stones that wrapped around the edge of the cliff face that made Hohkmat’s walls, watching intently as man and mage rushed back and forth between their banisters and battlements in the Coalition fort above her. Compared to the siege equipment that had been prepared by the Dwarves, the opposing side was almost pitiful. She could not help but smile as she cast her gaze down to the other side of the banks. From so high up The Vizier of Wind could see behind the walls of Drusco, small Veleztians and Orcs rushing with the same fervor to man what few cannons they could muster. They would never stop fighting for what they loved; it was only a shame that those good few who had proven to be deserving of it had found themselves trapped on the other side of the field as she was. The gaze of the Hakad wandered with her thoughts and her body as she went through the motions of the beginning of the siege. Alas, with so many loyal and loving comrades at her side, she had so few to talk to; it was best she simply perform her work now. Isabella Sanz could simply hope that amidst the conflict she had found unlikely allies. Hope that once the dust had settled The Grand Tapestry would be rethreaded into a favorable peace for as many as possible in spite of their seemingly irreconcilable differences. Time had passed in the battle during Isabella’s meditations. Now cannons and fireballs alike rocked the cliffside where she stood; buried deep within the fortress woven out of rock and stone by Dwarf and Earthmagi alike. The cannons in the room beside her were shattered by a direct hit, and her mind was keen enough to fully comprehend the truth and the severity of the bloodshed felt by her comrades. Sensing intimately the strength of those who demanded their retribution. She felt the primordial force of the ones whose unbending spirits had willed her to stand firm and cast aside her doubts. With the Sorceress’ focus now in the moment, she seized it for herself. Her gaze locked onto the retinue of mages who had chosen to follow her. Their common understanding required no words. With a nod they wasted no time to draw the ritual circle. The scintillating colors of all their mana was guided expertly by her own as their resident Firecaller Atticus shaped his spell. Like a whirlpool the tide of mana spun and condensed before surging forth in a tide of flames that streaked high over the river of the Notrebanc to set a blaze to one of the enemies’ opposing cannons. No sooner had she begun to reflect on their success than the Coalition had amassed their forces outside of the fort to make the charge across the waters. Like her ancestors of the sands before her she moved swiftly while her enemies were slow to be one of the first among the Coalition who crested the hill. Isabella struck ruthlessly in between the cracks of Veletz’s walls the same way the rest of the Coalition stood firm and pried apart their enemies with their very own doubts. The surging tides of water conjured forth by the Sorceress mirrored the tide of warriors at her back that swept the failed usurpers off of their feet and washed them out of their own fortifications in but an instant. Isabella had been dragged along through the dance of battle, lost in the ebb and flow that had really lasted for hours, though in her mind it felt like she had become exhausted after only a few minutes. The pace of the soldiers around her did not cease, and so she stepped off the floor to watch the waltz from the rooftops as they chased the fleeing combatants to the edges of the hills. There was no longer a need to reflect, only to rest and recover before joining the dance again another time, somewhere else, with another crowd. With the plains open for advance now, the slowly aging sorceress hoped desperately for another field battle of Cavalry, like the one at Hippo’s Gorge. One where the Magi would charge forth atop their Yisar mounts as a good omen for all the world to see.
  8. It was the Druscans that had first demanded that the bridge to Hohkmat be destroyed. Alas, Isabella was a bridgebuilder, and it would soon return, whether the receivers of her gift liked it or not.
  9. Isabella was hard at work within Hohkmat; enchanting something within those walls which perched atop the mountainside. The Petran roads wrapped around and down from the City of Sorcerers towards the Memory Tree where the foundations for their neighbors of the Abbey rested. Those local to Vallagne new the track record for arson within the Commonwealth, and the Vizier was keen to ensure it remained safe even in her absence.
  10. The missive had been scattered to the Winds. It was only natural then that it's Vizier should find it first. The Purple clad Farfolk smiled with wicked glee The Druids are awake once more. Who will be strong enough to bind them to a common cause? Which of them will wield the wisdom necessary to secure their future? The stricken woman muttered a few Hakad proverbs in prayer for the Druids.
  11. The Orcs have offered an open contest of strength. It would be remiss to not engage in the sport. The boy seeks boldly, and so it is his right to receive all that he is owed. Perhaps I can send a gift to him, I'm sure the Rex would appreciate it Isabella hummed to herself as she drew a black feather quill from an inkwell of scintillating colors.
  12. Isabella snatched the missive from the very bard who wrote it I do wonder what the Orcs will make of this. Perhaps they fight with the wrong people. We have yet to discover if the Rex's own war is just. Let us hope they prove worthy of my tongue dance after the Ritual Kaggath...
  13. Isabella offered a hearty chuckle as she saw her original home refurbished. Sentimental of old times, the aging woman was happy to see that better times might be ahead.
  14. Copies her missive to forward to but a few relevant allies @Zaerie @Hom
  15. Isabella pens her letter, posting it to the peers of the realm of Petra for them to see By the grace of our unshaken alliance, Atticus Reinhold serves as a stalwart bastion of light who eats away at the darkness that surrounds the doubts of the Hohkmati Sorcerer and the Knights Petrine. He who is Hakad, he who is Petrine, Sorcerer-Knight, Courtmage and Enclave Head of Petra, of the Noble House of Reinhold. He has stood against the tide and fought ruthlessly against the will that should falter. As is Charged by the Queen Catherine I herself, he shall be appointing his second in command. The Enclave head in his stand, and the second Hohkmati seat in the house of Garmont to defend the rights of the Petrans and the Hakad alike. Together we shall deliberate all of our collective concerns post-haste SO WOVEN, Isabella Sanz, Vizier of the Chamber of Wind of Hohkmat @Hom @Zaerie
  16. A Contest of Wills When The Spirit Corrupts and Destroys the People Penned by Isabella Sanz By the Will of the Three Mysteries, I have been set on the Eternal Pursuit once more, at long last. I know my own faith well, well enough to know when my spirit has become corrupt. And by the old proverbs of Fahrazad the Great, those corrupt of spirit destroy the people. Those who destroy the people shall be destroyed. So it is the same with any man, so it is the same with the Void, so it is the same with me. The magi untamed is dangerous. I do not fear any of these Truths, for I understand them intimately. The Great Paradox teaches that to be a master, is to be an eternal student. The more you learn, the more questions you must ask. My people are my flesh and blood, we are apprentice and master, one and the same. They are not my citizens, they are my kin. This is the way of the Sorcerous Path, for the bond of apprentice and master is sacred, more than the blood of son and father. In the very same way that we are charged to bind the will of our people to a common cause, so too is it their noble duty to enthrall their leaders to serve them justly. I have been blessed to find myself amongst those who will not allow me to be content with failure, and force me to achieve greatness by my own merit. The people of Hohkmat came to me and spoke reason. Closest allies and furthest strangers have combated me fiercely with the diverse views necessary to give myself clear vision. With each step I take my will is not broken; it is re forged anew, again and again. And so it shall be until the end of my days. I REFUSE TO STAGNATE LIKE A POND THAT OFFERS NO REFRESHMENT. I REFUSE TO CRUMBLE ATOP A WEAK FOUNDATION. I WILL NOT BURN MY ALLIES AS AN UNTAMED FIRE. I WILL NOT SCATTER INTO A DIRECTIONLESS BREEZE. To do so would mean to die. Even if my body was alive, it would be a fate worse than being Thaumburned atop the Ziggurat of Hohkmat. If that is what I deserve the Orcs will throw me off a cliff. If I truly am a heretic the Cannonists will wage their holy war on me. And if nothing else, those who seek to challenge me do so at every turn. Instead I walk out of the Rex's gate's unscathed, for I learned not to speak in tongue dance and lies, but the simple truth. I destroy the Darkspawn and the Demon with the Cannonists I've known so long that they are my family. I invent new devices to improve the daily lives of the Petrans who have been my friends since we arrived on Aevos. AND SO IT SHALL BE. UNTIL I AM KILLED FOR THE ULTIMATE FAILURE. THE ONE I CAN NEVER LEARN AND RECOVER FROM. I HAVE BEEN SUMMONED TO THE CHALLENGE, AND I SHALL RISE TO THE OCCASION. Now hear me speak the Truth. My intentions and desires, plain and simple for all to see. I will call upon the greatest minds and highest authorities of all the realms. I will listen to them and hear. I will tongue dance in the courts and shed blood on the battlefield until peace is achieved for all of us. I bid all those who wish to do the same to find me. I cannot find you all, for I am but one woman, stuck in my Chambers with no one to talk to. Let us start simple then. Does Krugmar spill wanton blood on the sands for what little material they have to gain for themselves, be it stone, water or slaves? Or have they claimed their rightful place in the dunes, their sovereignty encroached on by aggressors who's citizens seek to suffer under perpetual conflict under unenlightened masters? If we are to spill our children's blood, let it not be for nothing. Let us remember together what we all fight for, and secure our futures with deeds and action. Grand Magister Fatebinder has called for Ritual Kaggath on the Orcs, in the language of the Hakad. I speak to the rest of you in the language of the Humans, of the tongue dance. The official challenge to the Rex for Kaggath will be at a mutually agreeable location in the desert. The size should not exceed 100 warriors. The terms of victory and defeat discussed in person. Fatebinder has assigned me to serve as Representative in this challenge, and the Hakad’s Chosen Champion’s will rally under my banner as the leader in this fight. At the heart of this matter lies the strength of the Rex's request of the Hakad, however the details of spoils for the victor are to be discussed in person. IT IS WOVEN Isabella Sanz, Vizier of the Chamber of Wind OOC Disclaimer: 10 v 10 CRP Time/Date to be determined by availability.
  17. Isabella reads the missive with a hoarse smoker's cackle His words are woven strong! A worthy Challenge, penned by Alexander Llopis. He has the wit to pen, but my own ink serves me well. If it is a ritual Kaggath he seeks, we shall reap it together to sew fresh soil... She prepared her next missive in her own Chambers.
  18. Isabella Sanz returns from the walls of the Rex's unscathed. The Vizier of the Chamber of Wind gathers the Sorcerers to speak her words, and wills them to listen. The Fates of Hohkmat and Krugmar are now bound, for better, or for worse...
  19. Isabella flings documents haphazardly about her desk, passing personal profiles, world histories, and cultural references amongst an office full of her personal retinue before sending them out into the world. Chaotic as it may seem, one could hope there was a method to the madness.
  20. A sick frail farfolk perches at the edge of a stool. She gazes into the eye of a massive telescope that extends far out of one of Hohkmat's tallest towers If my Fate is Bound by the stars, I will find it for myself. I will be more than a fleck of the heaven's spat out spit...
  21. The Vizier of the Chamber of Wind spread a copy of putrid parchment over her desk, dutifully delivered to her. I wish I was informed of this a Saint's month ago... so much to do, so little time... as if on queue a golden pocket watch dangled from the brim of her royal purple hat. The Sickly Sorceress stowed her find to move on to the next project. Perhaps our Dwarven friends could benefit from being put on my schedule.

  23. Isabella trilled her fingers over one of her cabinets. It slid open of it's own volition for the Sorceress to file through her papers I may have just the thing. . . she mused to herself. A physical arena had been built, but the true arena had always been open.
  24. Isabella smiled, maybe a little too wickedly. The passion of the peoples was palpable. She simply loved so many coming together under a common cause.
  25. Isabella nurses her cold on one of her office's many couches. So too does she nurse a glass of Strawberry Champagne. It's simple, the Three Mysteries practically speak for themselves at this point. . . or perhaps. . . She lost herself in myriad thoughts, peering to the bottom of the page. Huh, her magicallness. . .
