tbh im glad for the opportunity to update my mods bc a significant chunk of my favorite ones skipped 1.20.5 entirely. also as a builder I'll never not be pleased about more blocks to add to my pallet. tuff bricks and their variants are going to work so nicely on this server

Congrats on the one year <3 Hom joining LOTC, circa August 2023 My question to you would be - how do you think LOTC compares to the other roleplay mediums we've participated in previously? What are its strengths and weaknesses in comparison to them? Is there anything from one medium you wish could be incorporated in the other?

Astrid Thriceblood's copy of the missive crumples in her trembling hands, a wave of revulsion washing over her at the blatant, unfair targeting of her dear, innocent, would-never-hurt-a-fly, sweetheart of a grandmother. (As far as she was aware, that is.) She didn't even have the words to articulate how great of an injustice this seemed to her - who would tutor her in alchemy now!? Her academic ambitions were being compromised! And, you know. Something-something- Laurissa didn't deserve this disloyalty from a country she'd given so much for, it was really crap that she was to lose her home and status out of nowhere, et cetera, et cetera -something. That too.

Astrid Thriceblood had never been close to her aunt, but the loss still weighed on her, nevertheless - if only from seeing how terribly it pained her mother so. She stands beside Iduna as she reads that final letter, silent and stock-still. Comforting others had never been her forte, and never in her life had her clumsiness with emotions feel like such a deficiency. Watching her mother sob, she felt lost.

Once again, Astrid Thriceblood reads the missive with a long-suffering sigh. Does he mind? She was in the middle of something really quite important, and to be interrupted because some megalomaniac arcane lich couldn't keep his trap shut was incredibly annoying. She mutters something unkind in Scyfling, and goes to shred the parchment for reptile bedding - but decides against it, and shoves it in her desk drawer. ...Just in case.

Sandstone/Red Sandstone + its variants, all plants, unstripped logs/stems, snow, the terracotta variants you can already find in vanilla badlands generation (regular, red, yellow, orange, brown, white, light grey i believe?). This late into a map I wouldn't advise this idea but something that could be cool to try further down the line is to have different blocks be free depending on the tile, the implication being you were just able to gather resources from the local area vs the costed stuff having had to be made or imported.

Astrid Thriceblood wrinkles her nose as she reads over the missive, making an unsure sort-of noise in her throat. Well! Everyone needs their hobbies, she supposes, even twisted undead archmages her family loathes with a passion. Upon receiving news of the unidentified fallen object, Astrid Thriceblood gathers a cork-board, pins, and a ball of red twine, and prepares for the long journey from her home to the crash site.

Astrid Thriceblood does not yet care for politics, still but a teenager. Instead, she contemplates building a soundproof bunker, so the sounds of mages fighting would stop bloody interrupting her.
