  1. Vadok looked upward to the starry sky, the socket of his rotted eye fractured from the mighty blow of the fallen shaman. Seconds turned to hours as he stood there, unaware to the surrounding area as the burial ritual was completed. The cub had never met Buubztik before this encounter, internally resenting himself for the inability to loath the orc who so dishonorably assaulted him. Though the true reason why this was remained clouded to him, buried in a the sooty fog of war and the mist of coppery blood. He had killed in the name of Buubztik, slain the High Cleric Mandru in hopes to rescue the shaman who his father had so strongly fought for. Though his father had fallen in the chaos of it all, leaving him alone in the chaos. The cub recalled the circumstances, seeming to blame himself for the death of the fallen shaman. The imagery of what had happened leading up to this moment running through his mind without halt. He retreated to his home, beginning to drag the rotting corpses of the three bodies he had been collecting in the name of the spirit of disease, Orgon. Throwing them to the ground, Vadok glowered, encapsulated by hatred which permeated through his body. He then took up a torch from nearby, and surrounded the bodies with dried tinder. Vadok cast the torch downwards, igniting the tinder and began the incineration of the bodies. Through all this, not a sound was uttered by the cub, and he turned away, escaping the scene of the pyre. The cub made his way home, tearing free a blade from the kitchen and took it to the back of his left hand, carving into it a large 'X' as to ensure he never forgot the severity of his failure. For being unable to preserve the life of the great shaman.

  7. So why is it humans can be adept in everything when that ltierally ruins the point of a plugin designed for specialization? Why not just let them pick a skill to be racial instead?

  8. Cultural onset belief doesn't mean you should have more health AND magic resistance AND knock back resistance.
  9. Cir'dian grins, looking onward to the group beneath the red hued black iron norman helmet which conceals his face. He tilts his head, situating himself in a fairly dark area and simply watches intently. His eyes shift to Mandru as time progresses. And as such Cir'dian looks down, sighing and pulling free the wrought helmet from his head. "Mandru...I am to be taking a leave of absence. From everything in this plane. Where you seem to have maintained your proper views of Tahariae, and of the order. Mine are beginning to- Degrade. As such, I am taking time of leave with no promise of return until such a day is that I am confident that I will be able to once more take up proper belief to match the strength of my sword arm. So until then, I ask your patience and understanding in this, old friend. With me will come all the relics I have procured, and all the knowledge as well. Should the day come where I can once more take up them faithfully in the name of Tahariae. Until then I will pray, and I will work to re-attain my faith and my will to serve. Until then, I bid my fair well. Give my regards to the rest of the members." Cir remarks with a warm smile, his helmet under his arm. He appears to have a large backpack on, filled to the brim with items unknown. Unusual for those aware of the various artifacts he wields which negate the need for such containers. Cir'dian then turns, making his way out, pausing but for a moment at the door. Upon his face forms a meak smile, and then he continues on, fading from view.
  10. ...Lol, I love it. Make this into a series and I'll be happy
  11. The point is that the statement that speed is directly correlated to size is silly, of course there is more to it than just that. However you stating because humans are smaller, they are more agile, doesn't makes sense in itself. That's what you're implying by stating humans are inherantly faster. Elves are bigger than humans. They're faster still. Usain bolt for example, the fastest man alive is 6'5''. The average NBA player? 6'7''. THe reason anything taller is slower, is because humans aren't built to be taller, we get lanky. Orcs don't, they are scaled, rather than stretched. A human at 7 feet is stretching his limits, his body can't keep up because it's not meant to. An orc isn't built the same. Their bodies can keep up with that. It's the same reason that a bear can run at 45 MPH. No one thinks bears are fast either, until they get clobbered by them. Bears are 10 feet tall and weigh more.
  12. Eh, you're arguing size = speed and tactics. It is a transfer of logic and perfectly rational. Does that make it true? No...That's the point.
  13. No...Ologs have always been around 13 ft tall. Goblins are 5-6 feet, orcs are 7-9 usually (It's been this way since Aegis) And really I'd like to point out that in that video clip...Gregor still wins. Lol...And Oberyn has to use poison to kill him...Not to mention not many humans use spears, which are the only weapon that Oberyn would have won with (Why do you think he chose it...Reach advantage). Put a spear in an orc's hands? Reach advantage lost. He had to stay out of the "Death zone" of Gregor. And he didn't...THus he died. Furthermore...By your argument parade. A halfling should be able to beat a human just as easily. The reality it humans and orcs aren't on equal playing fields. And orc has the advantage. Orcs are rather intelligent...AND huge. Unline Gregor..Who is just huge (And he is 7 feet tall, while an orc can be 9. Gregor was an indomitable force to all in westeros...Now add two feet to him and look at how fearsome he'd be...Now add a brain) And size =/= slowness...See NBA players, see NFL players
  14. (( WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH... Da warboss und da nobz ruul diz wurld ))
  15. Meh...Just give humans a small buff to armor rating and leave the collective damage buff to mobs (Or take it out)

  18. Magic already got a huge nerf overall. It's not the fault of the system when people don't adhere to the rules it laid out. We've got master wizards and mages running everywhere due to the lack of a system as well. I personally agree with Tehlulu..Limit beyond t2, as it gives players a chance to use magic "In a fun way" and it also appeals to the mages who want the more advanced stuff locked away. That said...Come now guys, you can hope for the magic plugin to fix everything, but until it does? Don't act like it has. The issues need to be addressed, not brushed off under the facade of a plugin which may or may not solve it. That's just ignorant to how reality works, make plans and resolve the problem at hand. If the plugin then fixes the problem further? Cool! But if it doesn't? Well you have that original plan as a fallback. Though the arguement of elitism? I'll cite a numerous number of groups, and so on which cause equal amounts of it. The truth is that people iwll always think that regardless. That's not an excuse to disregard an issue. A decent solution in turn, would be to have black lists run by an MAT, you're bringing in more staff (What's the problem? They work for free) to put less work on the GMs. A black list would also mean we don't have to restrict anything. However the problem is that far too many people are just brushing off issues with the statement "The plugin will fix it!". No one is omniscient, as such it isn't logical to say that the plugin will fix it. Plan that it won't, so then if it doesn't we aren't left with more problems. TL;DR The argument that the plugin will fix things is invalid due to lack of omniscience, plan in case of failure. Two possibilities which make sense. Instate a blacklist run by an MAT (Of players who firmly understand how magic works) or lock everything past T2/T3. Both resolve different issues, but both are at least steps in the right direction.
  19. PAtients? ...But doctor...Why must you cross the beams?!!?
  20. To first address the whole debacle seen prior...Originally magic wasn't actually a thing, it was the coming of the ascended that really let people go nuts. And even then no one really used it, I can recall...7? Or so mages who actually used magic. Originally it was an event thing as I recall (Though perhaps I am mistaken), and Availer pretty much was the guy with it. Does magic need to be 100% locked? Well no, it doesn't. Does some of it? Yes! Should there be regulations? Yes! Let new players have magic, give them basic magic forms though, and then they progress that way. Give them Pyromancy, Water evocation, Earth evocation, and air...But limit it to lesser forms until they can actual get the chance to progress and learn. Let them discover the magic through roleplay, unlocking more as they are taught more. Furthermore reinstate the MAT, let them have the ability to blacklist people who abuse it, or troll with it. Regulate it rationally. The same goes for villainy honestly. Now back on topic, alteration is one of those magics I feel needs to be a bit more defined. We have three branches, warding, transfiguration and enchanting. Warding is something that I believe is a bit iffy, but with the advent of a guide, I am torn. Enchanting and transfiguration though are magics which rply make sense to be locked. Learning to infuse an item with power is something I believe is a feat just as hard as learning to warp life energies (Why Necro is locked). Hell you're probably more likely to just explode. The same goes for transfiguration, as I can see you accidently turning yourself to sand on an attempt and pretty much that's that. THose two forms involve actual altering of the world, as opposed to imposing new rules upon it as is seen with warding. However I still believe it should be completely locked, as the entirety of the magic has a good system in place which is accessable, and perfectly fine as is. Though to put it bluntly, if you don't want to have to take steps which are laid out before you to get the magic? Why should you get the magic anyway? If you don't want to join the mages guild, maybe there are other alterationists out there beyond jsut them to find and learn from. But just getting it, or learning it because you found a book (I don't know if a tome would work with this...I'd need to look into that one a bit more, if it is? THen nevermind...Finding a book becomes another option!). THe path is there, it's like you demanding to become a druid without being attuned, or demanding to become a war cleric without first learning to manipulate the light, and then be connected to Tah in order to use the potent magics it has. There is always a path, and laziness does not mean you should just get it. Be a go getter! Find options. And either way you'll spend "IRL time" to learn magic...Just as you spend IRL time to earn a rank in an order, or IRL time to walk from one city to the next. You get back what you put in. And if time isn't readily available? Honestly I see more successful roleplayers who don't have a metric ton of time, than those who are constantly on...So really that's not an excuse either. The problem isn't in it being locked. The problem is that you don't want to take the path to get it. Saying thati t's silly that you need to learn it in roleplay...To get it? Is preposterous in every sort of the word. We're an RP server...What's so bad about rping to get it? Just as you RP when you have it. It adds more depth to your character, and it makes them unique. However as I said...I am 100% fine with giving the players a very...Very basic learnable version. Makng them able to do their silly fun rp enchantments. However the serious big guns need to remain restricted. A fine example of the fun stuff was Blundermore's event with all the rather interseting items with varying effects...Making you sound like a donkey and so on. That's fine! But yes, keep the fire swords, ever sharp swords, ultralight weight equipment and so on enchantments locked. If you just want to create fun rp after all, you don't need to be able to give yourself an edge in anything. TL; DR Basic form, with fun stuff like Blundermore's items did...I.E. Making you sound like a donkey with hand cuffs. But keep enchantments that give you an edge locked to the real deal. As for wards and transfiguration? Transfig stays locked, wards can be given an equally simple equivalent for the fun rp without the serious toys at hand. You can move on to earn that stuff in RP.
  21. The stick of truth is strong with this one.
  22. Instead of locking them (Though some remain locked for good reason) why not just look at the quality of rp they do and just stop complaining? How do you think we did it in aegis? We looked to see if they rp'd their magic well and accurately (And fairly). If it was? Sweet! It's legit. If it wasn't? Okay so their character is just a crazy person who thinks they can do magic. Yaaay. If it created problems because someone unfairly abused that? Well that's when GMs get involved. That system isn't ideal but honestly? If the rp is good, who gives a ****.
  23. Running around sprinting in iron isn't against the rules, while powergaming is. That's not to valid of an argument Teli. As for the systems? I like the majority system with pvp default as a back up due to the fact that it is quicker and may be better for specific circumstances. Why in gods name the majority system was taken out is beyond me, but yeah. I enjoy emoted combat much more than mechanical combat (Though I do like both) but the point is that mechanical is better when both parties disagree, due to the potential for a horrid encounter if only one side really does one to emote. It's really as simple as that.
