Seems decent but I think its rude to use "wardens" when Zarsies has posted for druidic wardens already.

We, as a playerbase and the staff, do this because you can't stop people from changing accepted lore if its on a google doc.

I am advocating for elemental evocations to have similar levels of progression like Arcanism and that those dark magics DO fulfill the elemental theme but because they are dark they cannot be woven together the same way as Arcanism-Celestialism which I feel is a shame. Balancing comes through substance. Add substance to the magic. A purpose or a goal within the magic will notable increase the worth of the magic. Not that people would agree but the argument could be made that if those elemental based dark magics recieved access to their specific elemental evocation via the void as a secondary magic you would solve the issue I am bringing up.

I don't have a a strong opinion on the lore since I don't RP fire evocation and don't know how it balanced it feels but like... fire evo can be self-taught. Arcanism cannot. It's not as if that decision was made for no reason. Actual firey explosions will likely be abused. Not sure if that would be a reason to deny though as anything can be abused & it seems unfair to refuse a buff due to self-teaching. However while others evos need love this doesn't feel quite substantial enough yet. Though I do keep saying that the relative versions of Arcanism--Celestialism for at least fire & water evo are Naztherak, Frost Witches & Sea Witches. Those being non-voidal of course but its the elemental theme that is being fulfilled.

And this stuff is awesome without strictly enforcing what it offers. We have what this lore does and many other options to choose from. Druids don't need a counter to all voidal mages. Phillipz rewrite this lore for the OP.

Hell. No. Do not attempt to say "it doesn't make voidal mages look like the bad guys" when it in fact does make them look like the bad guys. Druidism has no power over voidal magic & on a personal level I dislike the idea that druids can **** with things like my crystal gardens grown through celestialism (which aren't meant to be harmful to anyone or anything). You aren't allowing freedom of roleplay here but rather pigeon-holing voidal mages and giving druids unnecessary power. Many of us roleplay voidal effects as much less destructive than you want to describe them as. They blend in and bind to the natural world instead of corrupting and destroying. If something is voidal tainted you will know. Not EVERYTHING has to cause a form of taint that needs to be healed but this lore essentially makes voidal taint just as evil as necromantic taint. The philosophical change must come through actual server story and not a lore submission. Apologies but it feels much more like a dictation for those RPing voidal magic & those that roleplay a magical enviroment. I don't like it. -1 edit: I will say that interactions had could be cool but from my experience druids are too domineering when it comes to "taint" and other such things. Frankly there is a lack of trust.

But where does the sentience come from? Your redlines make it feel like you still program them. Wouldn't be fair to say they are linked to the caster and feed directly off their set of commands?

With how prevalent the act of terrorism has become it was nice knowing LoTC was a place that wasn't about firearms. Even medeus were simply aesthetic wands. Just thematically speaking -1

Spellblades currently run the server imo. This doesn't disallow it but rather makes the true masters of a magic actually mages whereas a spellblade could stay at tier 3-4 but still choose to wear armor. I don't agree with brittle bones at all. People will abuse/PG it. Having additional weight cause stress to a spellcaster makes sense but don't make it some weird vitamin deficiency.

Isn't this basically just a "skin" for Necromancy? As in essentially the same thing but with a different set of minions.

Transfigs setting up void cages is weird. Bloodmages summon horrors. These seem to be an actual creature. The void is basically white-noise. So much information that it becomes null. Are you saying these creatures can eat things stored there? Why not involve translocationists and shifters more directly? Their magic lore much more closely ties in. Can they be warded? Can they be altered?

It's relation to other magics and summoning doesnt make much sense imo.

There is already nothing stopping Shamanism being spread just like other racial magics are spread. None are racial locked and new groups taking new approaches to things should be encouraged. This is similar to Thulean druidism in a way yet it seeks to offer a lot of RP to a group that has been trying to define itself. Two Shamanism groups being ran in different ways means you have two chances at a time to make a successful RP group.

Squirt your 4th paragraph is the most logical way to put it and I hadn't thought about it like that. Must be my helf purist bias coming through but despite that I agree with you. And thank you Farryn for walking me through all that. It is nice to see people passionate about the magic they are writing for!

But are they actually disconnected for it? That clause would make sense if there was a karma tally for them. Hurt a grey-being and big man in the sky goes "Yo. Strike one." After three strikes you are out & have to make a pilgrimage or something. (Cuz everyone loves a good pilgrimage. #knightsofthenine) I think I may be sounding a bit pretenious and because I feel I have made my point as thouroughly as I can I will leave this here.
