Making cinematics or anything that requires the 4th wall is virtually impossible without vanish. Players punch at you, disrupt others' RP, and so on. I had to fight to use vanish as a player for this very reason. We're going to be moderating this pretty tightly. Content Creators in vanish won't even be able to see other staff members. The possibility of abuse definitely was made in the conversation, and we'll hand out punishments accordingly. EDIT: Going to try and reach a middle ground on this. Content creation has been in a mystifying limbo for a long time. We’ve acknowledged just how important it is to LotC’s growth, but we’ve neglected to give it the tools and attention it needs to thrive. There’s so much to creatively express on LotC, and now is the time we give it the proper conditions to succeed in. The Community Team is spearheading Content Creation through two avenues: Players and Staff. Both groups will lounge in our Community Involvement Discord, where we can share tips and advice in a collaborative, creative environment. Content Creator Rank We recognize that there are differing motivations for creating content on our server, and that no two creatives are alike. This is why we are giving Power To the Players™ through the repurposed Content Creator rank! This is a non-staff role granted for the sole purpose of creating content, whether it be for your personal YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, etcetera. The Content Creator rank is one that grants special commands to non-staff players. Players with this rank will be able to run a command that will grant them a low level of vanish (visible to all staff members whilst unable to see other staff in vanish) and fly. Once the command is toggled off, Content Creators will be returned to the location that they had run the command. They will additionally be able to warp to nations & settlements. EDIT: Due to popular request, we're going to try incorporating a visible outline for vanished CC's that is visible to all players. More features might come and go to protect privacy & roleplay. We'll be tweaking this & gathering feedback as we role out this new rank. There are special stipulations attached to this rank given it is non-staff, and is not not expected to function within a formal team. We never want to withhold the tools that players might need to create content. With that being said, Content Creator will be given on an easy-to-get, easy-to-lose basis. CC’s will be expected to make content, and their rank will be revoked so long as this is not the case. Hiatuses are treated similarly. And, needless to say, abuse will result in a heavy hand. If you are interested in obtaining this rank to create content, please reach out to me through Discord. Content Creator will be given on an as-needed basis by the Community Administrator. There’s no formal application. Just show me what you’ve got (you can reach out through Discord), and I’ll get you set up if you show the drive to create content. Media Team We also know that plenty of players are more interested in contributing to Lord of the Craft rather than creating personal media. We want to give a revitalized push in the form of a newly christened Media Team. This team is formally under Staff, and is responsible for helping create media content for our LotC Youtube channel, Wiki, Twitch streams, etcetera. This can consist of videos, art, graphics, and so on. You can still produce personal media if you are on the Media Team, but your position does come with the expectation of contributing to LotC's media. The Media Team’s main home will be in the Community Involvement Discord, alongside Content Creators. Although they are considered a part of the Community Team, MT members will not be expected to fulfill the standard duties of the Community Team. Media is the name of the game here. Taken on BSL's Low preset with 18 chunks of render distance, default textures. I can see how you'd make that conclusion, but I feel like it's akin to saying photography is only about nice cameras. A great computer is worthless if you can't angle your shots, adjust DoF properly, adjust sun rotation, or know how to use the Bloom/Exposure/Saturation/Color Correction/Fog Density properties inherent to the shaderpack itself.

I had trouble working with the Asulon map early during the video process and wrote it off due to its wide reputation of horrible map corruption. I later found out that it could have been used - three quarters of the way into the video. I couldn't rework the entire video, so I took the hit and kept on editing. I'll find a way to incorporate Asulon into future videos.

Just going to quietly speak as a player here. Orc blah turned me off from the get-go in 2013. It was really hard to take anything seriously when everyone sounded like a preverbal child. I suspect that might be a part of the reason why Orcs have traditionally attracted many players who don't take Orcish RP seriously. Orcish RP has very cool aspects, and I probably would have stayed an Orc, but I just couldn't get over that hump.
