A long and meticulously crafted letter is pinned to the noticeboard at the front of Ves.
Hello,
My name is Antony Sigismundic, stargazer and aspiring philosopher. I am fourteen years of age and reside in our fair City of Ves. It is a beautiful place, planned by masterful minds and built by skilled hands. I spend my days observing movements in the heavens, describing the world, and partaking in the sundry pleasures our wonderful City has to offer. However, even the most beautiful environment is the bleakest hell without anyone to enjoy it with. I have wasted my brief days cloistered alone due to the circumstance of my birth, given company only by dusty tomes and distant stars. Often have I wished to change this fate, praying in vain for a shimmering celestial body to descend and offer warmth – but never have I been graced by those resplendent things.
Therefore I write this letter in a quest for love, as I have reached the manly age of fourteen. I seek a boyfriend-free girl to illuminate my dark days, succor my tortured mind, and beautify my estate by your mere presence. I seek a female of the same disposition as I, an avid stargazer and humble lover of knowledge. I seek a girl able to appreciate the brilliance of the stars, discuss the mechanisms of nature, and debate the flows of our fair Society. I seek a boyfriend-free girl of prestigious blood befitting my own – the details of which I may not reveal; you must ask my guardian. I find Elves prettiest of all, but my guardian may be upset by such a prospect (you will have to ask him). I would also ask you are not too old, unless you are a elf, for I am only fourteen and would not like to tempt breaking the laws of our fair City of Ves.
My guardian tells me I am a tall and handsome young man, so I pass this assessment on to you. I own a lavish observatory which I live and study in, surrounded by fragrant roses and precarious terrain. I possess an industrious spirit which will see my (and possibly your) wealth multiplied manyfold. I promise I am a man of genteel character. I have attached below a small drawing of myself in front of my favorite painting for you to admire.
Thank you,
Antony S.
