  1. "Oh, now nice, my dead father was invited." Renilde tossed the invitation into the fire, her own gaze ablaze as she watched it catch.
  2. "This just got even more interesting," remarked the archduchess from the basilica in Karosgrad, reading the day's eventful round of missives.
  3. “What an accurate recounting of events,” remarked the archduchess, witness to the intensive training.
  4. "What a peculiar predicament... it seems that there will be a Petra branch of Azor, and an Aaunite one as well. Things are about to get confusing!" Renilde folded the missive from Louis and put it away in a specific drawer in her desk, knowing she would never have to reference it to recall the superior Azor line's devotion to the commonwealth. "Good luck with this one, Louis." The archduchess murmured the words for only her husband Constanz to witness, breathing a laugh as she blew out the candle and made ready for bed.
  5. "Hah, she should have called it 'A Mask Hidden in the KNIGHT!' Hah! Get it?" Renilde laughed hard at her own joke, going as far as to slap her own knee after telling it to her husband. @Eddywilson2

  9. “Yes, this was a great idea,” Renilde told Dame Catherine at one of their many lessons.
  10. “I’m an orphan,” the child destined to lead her people said to herself in the mirror, coming to terms with the fact.
  11. Renilde, aged just thirteen, earned the first wrinkle on her forehead.

  13. "What a drastic change from what was last decided upon..." Renilde told her father, blinking as she saw her name listed as the next regent, the Archduchess of the Commonwealth of Petra.
  14. "I cannot wait to learn from Dame Austina; I want to be a dame just like her, my mamma, and Dame Catherine!" Renilde said to herself in the mirror as she prepared for a luxurious slumber.
  15. “So… does this mean we can visit Acre like we used to?” Renilde asked from just at her father’s flank while they trekked back up the slope leading to Temesch Hall. “I really do love to wander the fields, and to feed the farm animals!” She chimed, reminiscing on the last time she’d visited so many months ago, which seemed to be an eternity in her own short life of eleven years. @bickando
  16. “I’m so excited to see what my papa can accomplish,” chimed in a youthful Temesch lass in colorful silks, genuine in her eagerness to watch Petra flourish. "And also Chancellor Catherine, Ser Bernard, and Nicoletta too!" Renilde could hardly contain herself, bouncing in her seat while she told her nanny of her own aspirations within the commonwealth - for when she was older, of course... "When I'm an adult, like Dame Catherine, I want to be just a smart and fluid with the law as she is! And I want to be clever and poise like my papa, while being pretty and wise like my ma!" The Temesch's nanny couldn't have cared less, bobbing her head while the child spoke, working on stitching up one of the girl's torn, played-in gowns. 17. “I wish him and his family all the best.” Odessa smiled a sad smile upon seeing the finalization of her divorce. “Bless you, Dietrich. We both know this was for the better.”
  18. "This is an interesting tactic to get people to populate and support their lands once more... I'm curious to see how effective it will be, however..." Odessa shelved the missive to be used for reference should she ever need to relocate from her beloved farmstead in Acre.
  19. “Ah, this is just what I expected; quite wise of Temesch to join the right side. Adrian, I’m sure, would be pleased to know Paulie made a great call.”
  20. Odessa laughed as William brought home to her the bust, intact, to her surprise! "Ah, the queen whose name would likely be scratched from humanity's archives, if not to be mentioned only as the monarch who did little to nothing." She'd just finished reading the newsletter of the obituary of the erstwhile queen, and deposited it into a pile of Orenian death notices in a crate by the door, intended to be used as sanitary paper to take to the privy. "Oh, that rotten who-what-now!" The older woman genuinely couldn't remember the name of the forgettable queen, or her disaster of a court which she'd led into the ground due to her lack of experience - whoever she was! The woman had gone to her bedchamber for a moment, and returned with a cosmetic tin, brushing on a clownish layer of blush, lip-tint, and eyebrow contouring. Stepping back and appraising her creation, Odessa murmured to her adoptive child William in satisfaction. "To what's-her-name." She raised an invisible glass to toast the deceased. Odessa would've spoken to the queen when she could have, but unfortunately was never anywhere to be found... she must've done all of her work from Aeldin or under the guise of her barely-functioning council.
  21. “Aww…” Odessa sighed, folding the obituary in half and putting it in her lockbox intended for sensitive correspondences. “I loved to hate her; what a pity. Rest In Peace, Heloise.”
  22. Odessa rolled her eyes; this had been going on long enough and she was positively sick of it.
