  1. For event applications I can and have seen this been done before, may these events be player - or ST made. When it comes to sort of "Group" vs "Group" warfare it just dies in the womb due to griefers and abusers. I think the most important thing to consider first and foremost is how you yourself would abuse something. Though obviously it shouldn't stop us from creating good content, there's some mindfulness that needs to exist. I think unfortunately this idea is one of those that gets filed away in the cabinet under "Good on paper but not in practice". In the real world there's actual consequence if a nomadic group fails in their conquest. While on LoTC there's no real way for us to not make it a broken war / pvp fueled loophole that can easily be abused, bar making nomadic groups no fun. I think the way we meassure investment on LoTC that makes you worthy of participating in war also excludes groups that has nothing to lose. Likewise it makes me ask the question, how would a nation go about going to war with a nomadic group? What benefit would there be? There's been a few nomadic groups on LoTC and while they can't declare warclaims it seemingly fulfilled the enjoyment most of them were looking for. Anyway, always interesting to see these topics and just as interesting to theorize. This is just my two cents and obviously I'm not the fun police by any means. I hope you have a good week @Javert.
  2. Erik Colborn sticks his head out of a bush. "OH GUDI GUD! NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SEE THE DAY!!!" He then quickly escaped before he became a real father.
  3. (Always a joy to see your lore take physical form. I'm greatful to CopOwl and everyone else who speaks to me, consults me and writes this into reality. I look forward to the many other pieces we'll be putting forward.)
  4. "Oh, my sweet Elia is all grown. I remember when she was just a-" The elderly Adrian Colborn went into a fit of coughs that drew up blood, staining his 'kerchief. Though his smile remained his face was awfully pale. While his aged mind couldn't grasp things for long, he seemed to eye the 'Bethlehen' section. His interest kept for a few times as though something seemed wrong. When he looked up at the banner of Bethlenen hung not too far away. He could have sworn... ah well. Adrian's thoughts were quick to stop as he fell back asleep, parchment staining with drool. Though for once he had a sweet dream about his accomplished grandchild, who he saw as his own daughter.
  5. "May they both support each other and bare the weight of the crown." Erik spoke to himself with a smile while hearing the announcement.
  6. Meme Questions 1. When did you have your greatest gremlin moment? 2. When is your villain arc starting? (oh shit it has already started hasn't it?) 3. Thoughts on druidic spies? Serious Questions 1. If you were to mention one strange addiction you have, what would it be? (can't say LoTC or RPing) 2. If there is one thing you could have done differently on LoTC, what would it be and why? 3. What's your top 10 favourite drinks? Alcohol & non-alcoholic. 4. Do you believe in ghosts? What's the reason for your answer? 5. Any secret talent you'd like to share with the class? : )
  7. "Baldrum the Sworn, now that's a moniker." Erik hummed and could only hope he'd recieve a moniker himself one day.
  8. The old yet very fashionable Adrian Colborn shed tears of joy for the expression of fashion and culture.
  9. To those defending Charlemagne and saying he has changed or asking Muna for what they would want him to do, or how he should apologise so that he might play on the server or show remorse. I understand that any friend's response is usually going to be to try and resolve the issue, to find a way for both sides to find a resolution. But often in these circumstances the method that people use to approach or broach this subject is counterproductive. I want to remind you that if you were a victim of these kinds of actions, the last thing that will convince you, or make you believe someone remorseful, would be ten to fifteen people from the other side lambasting you. I understand the intentions might be pure (hopefully) but it's obviously not ideal. Very often will this be seen as bad faith or considerably biased. This is usually just a good general rule to follow and keep in mind. As for the issue at hand, I was shown directly the screenshots before any were sent to staff when Misstoni had this happen to them (4 years ago), as the proof clearly shows. In regards to the situation, I will say what I said then as I feel the same way now as I did then. No one should ever have to face such comments no matter their gender or sexual orientation, nationality or any other characteristic. I am not a friend of Charlemagne’s and I have not been a part of any potential journey he has gone through, certainly, people can change, but there are many reasons people doubt the authenticity of such a statement. It is no hidden secret that both Charlemagne and his company have averted their bans through alting on the server and also continued ill behaviour in private discords, other servers and media in the years since the sentence was dulled out. It does come off a little rich of people to try and sell this as someone has gone to jail or served their time after being punished for the crime. Charlemagne didn’t have his freedom stripped from him nor had irreparable and potentially life-long harm pushed onto him, he was banned from a minecraft server, a sentence easily avoided, and his friends kept to him and he followed them wherever they went. I’m certain perhaps a rare few social consequences have occurred, but nowhere near has Charlemagne paid more than the victim(s). It is fair to say that the question being asked here is not has he been punished, or has he served his time, but rather something that splits into two. How much harm can you cause before its fair to say you can’t be let back on even if you’ve changed? And has he even changed in the first place? I don’t hold the answers, but in my own personal opinion and from what I have heard from many people left in the wake of his actions, clearly, the answer is probably that he shouldn’t be on LoTC, and that he hasn’t changed enough to warrant a shot at redemption. There were people who left FRP not too long ago that had plenty to share about his behaviour, proof in its own right of lack of change. Then again, I acknowledge my bias here as well in that my friends have been made victims of him and that I of course could have been lied to. But the one thing we should all seriously consider, keeping our humanity through the process. I hold only deep respect for @MunaZaldrizotifor being willing to speak out about this publically. Back when this all happened I felt it was a painful insight into the talks that some communities on LoTC partook in. I for one can understand the terror of juggling the decision of trying to talk with the person who did you harm and instead opting for the safer option, as even if they said something terrible it could result in another ban, it can likewise bring back terrible memories and trauma, causing long-term harm that can take a long time to remedy. It's not as easy as simply having a conversation, even less so the longer it has been since someone did such a terrible thing to you. In that time a person comes to peace and tries their best to not repeat what already happened. I can only hope people think of this nuance when they consider why a victim might not be willing to put themselves in harm's way years later, at only a potential resolution.
  10. Erik Edvard Colborn had a long talk with both his parents after realizing the childhood friend of his brother had died. Having been confronted with mortality for the first time, he offered prayers to the daughter and parents alike. While he didn't know her himself any future paragon of the Kongzem lost was a true loss to her people. "Perhaps I should talk to Viktor... my eagles and his falcons could have a hunt as we once suggested. Then again, he'll need some time to come to terms with all of this."
  11. "Fadir, fadir! What's the meaning of all of this?" A young Erik Edvard tugged at his father's ( @tcs_tonsils_ ) clothes in worry.
  12. What do you think LoTC has done for you over the last two years? What was your best experience on LoTC and why? Do you think you would still join LoTC knowing what you do now, if you could go back in time?
  13. Erik Edvard Colborn looked up at his father as he chuckled having taken the missive right out of his young boy's hands. "Fadir... brodir Carolus having that thing glued to him was rather funny. We should ask Aleksandra where we can buy another one, pranking brodir sounds like a good time." Perhaps having seen his older brother made by someone younger than him sparked a certain urge in the Colborn.
  14. Adrian Erik Colborn was one to always support the historical integrity of the realm, speaking with great approval. "Truly, its about time we fashioned forward facing history. I commend the Deputy Palatine for his work."
  15. "My kusins birthday? Mik will. . . have to find a gift." Erik started worrying as he wasn't certain what they'd like.
  16. The old and senile Adrian Erik Colborn had decided to venture to Vienne, or rather what he remembered to be its general location. His mind not being what it once was he'd entirely forgotten the fall of Oren. Perhaps by chance, perhaps by fate, or by accident, he wandered into the surroundings of Petra, noticing Charlotte and Renilde as he journeyed. "Oh, the young are so spirited nowadays. . ." He stopped for a while only to realize he was lost. With some shame he walked back to where he faintly remembered he'd seen Charlotte, asking for directions. It took him getting lost three more times to find his way back home, but he was still unaware of the war to come - nor its origins.
  17. This is the kind of thing I have always not only supported but hoped the server would adopt, and flourish for future detail and depth. I will do my best to learn all of this and get involved, if you get a discord going hit me up, I will be down. To make the server better we all have to try our best and find future avenues of improvement.
  18. I wish you the best and a good life. Hopefully we get to finish the Witcher sometime (even though the TV Series is kind of going downhill atm 😬)
  19. Adrian Erik Colborn sheds a tear of not only pride but just at the cheer dedication and appreciation his descendants showed towards their culture.
  20. Adrian smiles Colbornly, standing proudly with his kin!
  21. Sipping on some tea and getting ready to head out and help my grandpa. But seeing as I was mentioned I thought I would throw my lot in for once in one of these AMA's. Curious to hear what you think was your favourite moment on the server between us two? (Too many years spent so always a cute one) Outside of the cooperative aspects of the server and lessons on how to communicate with a diverse cast of people, what do you feel is your greatest life lesson learned here? While the past is the past and some people are lost along the way I do ever so often think back to people I loved spending time with that are no longer on the server, or with us period. Who do you miss the most that you no longer see around? A honorable mention of a cool moment would always be welcome. Also, I can't believe they covered up the Cactus Raid of 2016. . . what could have been! (And for all that is holy stop calling me old.) Sincerely, Your Best Friend, Julius Aakerlund
  22. Somewhere in Bethlenen a Elder was dreaming of what once was and the ambitions of the past. He remembered when the fields had been woodlands and when a long forgotten continent once was their home. In his dreams he also saw what was to come and hoped only for the success of his people, for they had his heart - his hope.
  23. Adrian Erik Colborn, former Baron of Bethlenen and a fashion Queen of his day lay bedridden. Though when his granddaughters spoke of the recent Moda his dreams seemed to stir him happily. No doubt the elder was proud of what had been accomplished.
