Battle of Robert’s Folly
~Rebel soldiers fleeing Providence after failing to rescue Robert Foltest, circa 1812~
Last Saint’s Day on the 17th of Godfrey’s Triumph, 1812, our Imperial capital came under attack by a band of rebels, seeking to obtain their first victory of the war. Upon coming through the gate at the ready, using devilish tricks to have it opened, they began harassing the innocent citizens of Providence and demanding that the Imperial State Army release the Lord Helvets, soon to be put on trial for treason. Not a moment later, the Imperial State Army sprang into action and sallied out from the Bastion to face the invading force. After a few moments of taunting by the traitorous rabble, the Imperial State Army charged forward, catching the rebels off-guard and causing them to rout in all directions as they fled in terror. Ensign Caspian d’Arkent saw a prime opportunity and ordered a withdrawal to the Bastion. The retreating rebels halted in their tracks, being lured by the feigned retreat. In a moment of desperation, hoping to save face from their earlier embarrassment, the traitors charged headlong towards the Imperial soldiers. The trap was sprung. At the booming orders of the officers, the regulars quickly wheeled about and reformed ranks, causing the disorderly rebels to crash into the well-prepared Imperial soldiers, many of whom were slain on the spot. With that, the remnants completely lost coordination and broke ranks, running from their pursuers. Many more of the insurrectionists were cut down as they fled from the city in terror, the laughs and jeers of the citizenry filling their ears. Not a single Imperial Soldier was killed in this fight. The Emperor congratulates his triumphant soldiers, reservists, and auxiliaries who met this threat and turned them back in a terrified flight. As Orenians, we are strong as many. But together, we are stronger as one. Volens et Potens!
