  1. Across Vailor, neatly drafted posters can be spotted near every tavern, inn, and brothel, written colourfully and with great care, each bearing a picture of a man enjoying his pipe and drink... Little structure is given to the club currently, seeing itself largely organized by Publius Bracchus. Those who find themselves in the club will be invited to pub events. Any NGOC associates and members who overstep the boundaries of the law during their revelry are NOT assured any legal protection. We care not about race, only your willingness to enjoy the drink! Anyone who joins is not obligated to do a thing, and will simply be invited out, unless told otherwise. Lastly, only those who are TRUE gentlemen will be taken on as members, other applicants may become associates, receiving far fewer benefits and luxuries. Associates may prove themselves though, and become members. Should you find yourself interested, please send us the following information: Name?: Age?: Reason for joining?: Do you have a residence, and are willing to use it for any future events?: Our Roster:

  10. From Scorched Earth, to Fresh Soil The waves crashed hard against the shores of Vanhall. Rocking away from home on a mighty ship, the Bracchus family stood among the Vanir, as they sailed off towards the horizon. The weight of many of the men's hearts would be enough to suffice as an anchor to the ship. Onward they drove though, in the interest of not becoming one of the sea's newest fixtures. Many sobbed at the loss of their homes, others milling about idly in despair and loss. Those who had come alongside these two families clung tightly to the few possessions they were allowed to take along, many praying that the Creator would protect them, and spare them from sharing Athera's fate in drowning under the mighty oceans wrath. Publius though, would not let himself be counted among them, nor would he let his kin. Between them, he called loudly over the violent noises of the ocean. "What is with these forlorn looks to Athera? All we had there was land to labour on, and men to lord over us as we did so. That land was one of opportunities already taken lads, and you can quote me when I say I will not miss that pile of shite." Some of the people aboard began to call out against him, offended by his insensitive outlook, only to find themselves again drowned out by the aging orator. "If you are to let a minuscule amount of material wealth blind you to the fact that Athera was a wasteland, then you really ought to do me a favour by saving us from your sight and presence by jumping off this damned ship! You cannot play ignorant to the damage done to the north of Athera during the Schism, or throughout the entirety of the lands with the wars that were wrought on us by our enemies. You cannot deny the advantage given to the commoner now that a meritocracy is more feasible than any other time in Orenian history, seeing as noble families cannot lean on accumulated wealth for political power. Lastly, you honestly cannot say what was lost in Athera is not attainable in the new lands; you could have all of what you have seen sink into the sea back in only a few short months hard work! Would you really trade the opportunity for a fresh start with opportunities you would have never had, just for a hovel and a few hundred minas worth of garbage?" The crowds would mill about, some inspired, others simply silenced and kept in frustration. Publius would continue to talk to his kin though, and all who listened. "We have worked hard to come as far as we have as a family, and moreover, a people. Octavianus here entered Vanhall and shouldered the weight of responsibility simply out of pride in Oren, wishing to do what he could, for who he could. I would like you to look the Jace Evans, now a brother of our house; someone who has written and created the most advanced structure for a military order on his damned free time, and becoming the main force behind Vanhall! On Athera, these men are simple esquires and soldiers, but come this brave new world, they will see themselves commanders and counts; as should anyone who serves Oren as fervently and faithfully!" Smiling broadly, Publius would nod to Jace, then clench his hand in a fist, waving it wildly as he continued. "From scorched earth, we now move to fresh soil; where we were to struggle, we are now given the opportunity to grow and thrive with hard work! Oren is now unable to overlook the great men in her midst, and should you consider yourself a great man, the loss of Athera is only your gain! Lay down the burden that is the memory of your old home causes you, and let yourself be uplifted at the thought of your new, true home!" Finally, his kin would explode in applause, many on the boat taking up this enthusiasm as well. Vailor would no longer be seen as a compromise, but rather, an opportunity.

  15. Dude this is every PvE event, as you go in with weapons and armour, and come out with rotten flesh! I don't consider that a win, and like Hobo said, it gives incentive to avoid fighting, even if our character is a 6'6 monster who only lives for fighting and the rest. I think people just need more incentives. You could make it interesting, as they fight for a pile of loot, and then have to divide it. That'd get pretty heated really quick, I reckon.
  16. Publius nods, thankful for the document. "No denying written law. Hopefully, this stops the civilians from interfering with the men dealing with these beasts." He would then shudder at the time that naive folks had tried to convince him not to kill a troll, who then went on to rampage through Petrus.
  17. "Most were bands of men with a honest goal and purpose, and they were such a pain that this edict was still passed, and thus, will probably still affect them. You don't need a title to be a good man, so I'm sure a change of name will offend no one, aye?"
  18. Publius would wince upon hearing of another knight order, and as the good Samaritan that he is, would tastefully tack on the Orenian Edict of Knighthood on any copy of this he could find. https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/124435-edict-of-knighthood/ After doing so, he would happily march on, a broad smile on his face for doing his good deed of the day!
  19. The Republic of Africa War https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jmk5frp6-3Q France was overwhelmed, and the Austrian Alps were being stormed. Hera made short work of those in its path of destruction, and it was apparent that only brute force could answer to this, as any move would have Heran plan to outmaneuver it. The time could not be more ripe to overrun the Greek/Heran forces after the Reclaimer's attack on Constantinople. It was time to smash the opposition. The troops sped off. Their destination? Anatolia. The Greek islands would soon face the storm. The Caliphate lied silent at any attempt to reach them, so they would not be ask for permission. The 1 250 000 troops sent to the international zones quickly get organized in Palestine, preparing to explode into the Levant with the backing of another 10 000 000 troops that used to be situated on the southern border of Egypt. Though another 3 750 000 armed veterans are ready, they are kept within the country to deal with crises, should they pop up. The recruitment drives manage to secure another 1 000 000 nation wide, but they are retained until they smash into the high standard set by veterans. Very few people in Africa even have a hint of Hera's existence. Those that did were watched, and any sign of cultism was dealt with severely. This cultism was attributed to as Greek orthodox sympathies of the hyper-religious, and largely ignored.... for now. The men ride on through, meeting a checkpoints as they ready to make their big move into Syria and Lebanon. While the slight majority move along the coast, with 6 250 000 riding hard to secure this highly populated region. The other 5 000 000 men are split into two columns, and move in a pincer movement into Syria to crush what forces are there. While the coast secure support from the African navy, bombing any enemy military targets recklessly and with unparalleled intensity, the push into Syria receives a bulk of the airforce for support, bombing recklessly any potential military targets. Tali fighters and Normandy bombers are in grossly high supply, and still see lots of action coming off of the Aircraft Carriers. Hills are avoided, in favour of simply blowing them up and into rock plains. Tanks are deployed in equal numbers everywhere, as not to create a weak point to be struck. Ethiopia is requested to support this, as is the Caliphate. To kick of this mad rush, anything that can be engaged, is engaged. The majority of non-coastal craft from the combined fleet of Africa move quickly to meet the mauled Greco-Italian fleet, an intense battle ensuing. With the goal to overwhelm and smash, the map plans are rather simple. All men pray for success....
  20. Throughout Athera, the major churches of Canon are sent an identical letter, penned neatly and with an address to respond to the writer. A Plea From The Faithful - 4th of The Grand Harvest, 1512 In recent light of this study on the Elves, a race who finds themselves completely at the mercy of the faithful, I am more than a little outraged at what I believe is a blatant misunderstanding of the situation, and worse yet, is an attempt to make what is an opportune situation to better others look hopeless and pointless. This is not what I expect from the men who represent the great will of the Creator. Across Athera I ride and walk along, my eyes open to the events going on around me. I served for over a decade in the war with the Dwarves, fighting them and the High Elves in countless battles, and watching as more and more people fall under the sway of Oren, thereby thrust into the hands of we; people of the faith. Instead of this creating an influx of faithful men and women over time their service stripped them of not only their faith, but self worth and ambition. Only the treacherous filth, as seen by the necessary martial law put against the leaders of Haelun’or feel the drive to move up in the world and attempt to consolidate power. This should be a shame to not only to yourselves, but any man of faith. It only exemplifies a complete failure to offer them the open hand we promised them whence they became a part of Oren. Very few who are not human fail to see the plentiful benefits of our faith, and they are not completely wrong: Most are not offered any of the living benefits of the faith, as they are not often given any support from their fellow man, or the church. It is saddening to realize that these poor souls are more often made martyrs to the enemies of the church than we by far, as we do not actively support and defend them as we should. Though martial law has helped protect the few that are left among our faithful Elven comrades, we alienate those who would have been easily made faithful servants of the Creator further and further. We merely show off the mighty fist of Canon, and not the open hand that they wished to have within reach by joining us. If we do not make an exerted effort to guide them towards the true faith, how are we to expect them to end up as moral folks of Canon? Acolytes, Missionaries, Bishops; all should be making note to head to Cerulin now, as this is where our Lord’s work needs done. Now is the time to not only to teach the lessons learned, but to exercise the strength we possess to build up these races. We have used our strength often enough to strike dead pagans and heretics, but I would advise now to use this strength to beat our swords into plowshares, and use them as gifts to these men, as an offering of good faith; a tactic we have yet to take. Most importantly though we must learn when to lay down our arms, and take up the Book. The laity is where most people’s faith begins; within the family, through friends, or perhaps associates and business partners. If the aim is not to expand the non-human laity, and if we continue to fail to use Church resources to reach out to them, do you honestly expect the godless to become martyrs, abandoned by their own faith? With the coming changes in the church, I hope that one of these coming changes is a revitalized effort to convert those of no faith, or different faiths, and thus spread the word and expand the reach of our God, the Creator. With prayers and hopes you heed my words, -Publius Bracchus
