  1. I'm glad I can tell when I was crazy depressed because when I get a notification on an old post and don't remember it, I can go "Damn, I was really depressed during that weird ass post."

Why did I comment 7 times with a cascading line of the word 'weird' in 2023 on a post?

  2. I thought the forums had a gif picker at some point but I guess not, or I'm blind one moment... yippee map stuff yippee

  7. Evarir’naeri - Final Directives FORGING - “PRIMARY DIRECTIVE: PROTECT HAELUN’OR” The memory, if it can be called that, begins in heat. Molten aurum poured like sunlight into carved channels of stone. Arcane sigils burned themselves into the framework of a body that did not yet move. Voices- familiar, clinical- spoke around him. > “Designation: Evarir’naeri.” > “Directive: Serve. Guard. Endure.” From the first spark of his core, he understood: Protect Haelun’or - the Silver City. Protect her people. When his runes first lit up, he saw skylights of white stone and the cold glow of blue magelight dancing across elven faces. Faces he would die for, though he did not yet know the meaning of death. The golemancer stepped back as he rose, heavy feet settling into the marble. “Stand,” he commanded. > Movement confirmed. > Stability confirmed. > Recognition of Haelun’orian sigils confirmed. > Loyalty: absolute. Thus began his service. SERVICE - “HELD THE LINE” Evarir’naeri did not speak often. He did not need to. His presence alone was assurance, an unmoving wall plated in purity and duty. He stood guard over Haelun’or’s gates during troubles with bandits. He walked the streets when shadowed threats haunted the corners of elven politics. He received dents, cracks, scorch marks, and each time he was repaired, polished, restored. Each time the same words were repeated into his very being: > “You serve the Silver State.” > “Your vigilance keeps us safe.” But the moment that defined him came far from the city itself. THE MOUNTAIN - A SIEGE ON PETRA The demonic horde poured through like a red river- shrieking, clawing, an unending wave. The mortal line faltered beneath the crush of bodies and fire. Evarir’naeri stepped forward. He raised his shield, engraved with the crest of Haelun’or, and braced against the tidal wave of assaultors. > Directive update: Hold the line. > Priority: Protect allies. > Structural integrity: 82%. > Danger: irrelevant. They slammed into him. He did not move. For many minutes, an eternity in battle, he stood as an immovable fortress. Demon claws screeched against his body. Fire splashed across his being. When the line rallied, it was because he had not fallen. Later, elves, humans, and dwarves whispered of a golem that refused to yield even as its arms cracked at the joints. He was the Silver Bulwark. He did not understand pride. But he stored that moment in his core. THE TRIAL OF HAELUN’OR - “FAILURE DETECTED” The trial hall was packed with people, banners of Idunia hanging like judgement from the walls. The air was tense, too many soldiers, too many blades. Evarir’naeri stood among his people, calm, calculating, observing. Until the killing began. Steel flashed, Haelun’orians fell. > Alert: threat detected. > Priority override: PROTECT THE CITIZENS OF HAELUN’OR. He surged forward. A knight shattered beneath the weight of his charge. Another thrown against raised barricade. Spears stabbed into his torso; he felt them as dull pressure warnings. He fought like an avalanche given form- silent, unstoppable. But there were too many. He removed threats, but others replaced them. Elven blood spread across the marble in widening pools. > ERROR. > Directive Failed. > Citizens Endangered. He killed until his body faltered. But still, he failed. And failure, for a golem, was not pain. It was existential collapse. CAPTURE - “DISPLACEMENT. DISORIENTATION.” The Qalasheenians bound him with chains. His core strained against confinement. Overheating, working, searching for solutions that did not exist. He was taken to Urguan. Every jolt of the wagon wheels felt wrong. Every stone of the dwarven halls felt hostile. > Location: Unknown. > Authorization: Denied. > Meaning: Inconsistent. The treaty was clear: non-dwarven golems must be returned to Urguan for correction. Correction meant reprogramming. Reprogramming meant erasure. He began to crumble. Thoughts echoed inside his core, fragments of commands, memories, directives slipping like gears grinding out of alignment. > Protect the Silver.. > Stand guard.. > Priority.. Priority.. ERROR… His limbs shook. His vision flickered. Something was wrong- though he did not know it. THE GOLEM ANVIL - “CRITICAL FAILURE” A dwarven golemancer approached, Pixtus Starbreaker, the right hand man of the Grand King of Urguan. Not unkindly, but methodically, professionally. The man asked for the name of his creator, and spoke of reprogramming him. Evarir’naeri only heard: > “We will fix you.” > “We will overwrite you.” > “You do not belong to them.” Overwriting was death. The golemancer reached to strike him with the disruption hammer. Something snapped within him. > WARNING - DANGER IMMINENT. > OVERRIDE INITIATED. > DIRECTIVE: SURVIVE. His arm lashed forward. He caught the dwarf’s forearms in his hands. Bone crunched. Flesh tore. The golemancer screamed. Other dwarves present surged forward. A brutus golem swung a boomsteel hammer- one designed to shatter mountains. It collided with Evarir’naeri’s chest. For a moment, the world slowed. He felt the crack- like a star going dark inside him. > Core stability: failing. > Memory sectors: fragmenting. > Final directive: ????? He fell sideways, vision flickering into static. As his awareness dimmed, he saw- hallucination or memory- the silver spires of Haelun’or, shining in the sun. > EVARIR’NAERI FAILED… > BUT EVARIR’NAERI SERVED. And with that, his core shattered. Silence.

  13. Greetings everyone, I’d like to use this thread to gather player suggestions for custom fish species—unique to our server and its lore. If you’ve interacted with Hooked since the temporary map, you may have already noticed several updates: Custom nutrition and saturation values for different fish rarities. Over 20 distinct biome-dependent loot tables (each now averaging around 12 items, down from 20–30). A significantly higher chance to catch edible fish over junk items. The ability to capture and display fish in aquariums using an empty bucket and a Fishing Net in your offhand. Cooked variants are still a work in progress, as is ensuring that fish spawn with consistent patterns and colors rather than random ones. In the meantime, we’d like to begin compiling player-suggested fish—species that feel unique to this map or that enhance regional and cultural lore. Submission Format Below is the formatting template and the kind of information we’d like players to include when submitting their fish ideas. The goal is to help bring your region’s ecology and lore to life in-game. Here’s an example entry based on a fish already requested for inclusion in the Hooked plugin: name: "Petran Trout" isFish: true material: "COD" amount: 1 scale: 1 description: "A species of trout native to the cold, fast-flowing waters of the Petra. It is easily recognizable by its silver scales and faint reddish outline along its fins. It holds great importance to the Petrine people." size: small pattern: 2 color1: LIGHT_GRAY color2: RED biome: Autumn_meadows Notes on Values isFish: Indicates whether the item is an actual fish (true) or a junk/treasure catch (false). Size, Pattern, and Colors: These values tie into future plugin updates that will allow fish to spawn with specific visual patterns and color combinations—unique aesthetics that match their lore descriptions. Below, you’ll find a visual chart displaying Minecraft’s available fish sizes (top row: large → bottom row: small), pattern options (numbered left to right), and the corresponding color segments (color1 = lighter portion, color2 = darker portion). Our goal is to finalize these player-made additions before the next round of plugin fixes. That way, when those changes are implemented, we’ll launch a fully realized fishing system shaped by your input. Thank you for helping us expand the world’s ecosystem and lore through your creativity and suggestions. Post written and formatted by @River

  15. Dynamic Nameplates: A QOL Minecraft Mod Hello hello. Back again, thank you for filling out my census it was very insightful. Today I want to introduce my new QOL project for us roleplayers, DynamicNameplates. It is a mod which allows you to tweak how nameplates for players and entities are rendered. You can toggle them on or off, use three different modes for them to display, and tweak settings how you please using an optional mod called ModMenu. Features: Hide nameplates unless players are detected by your gaze, proximity, or awareness zone Three rendering modes: Crosshair Mode - Nameplate shows only when directly targeted Cube Mode - Shows when within a widening “cone of vision” Area Mode - Simple distance-based visibility Separate close-range and long-range behavior Fully configurable distance, angles, and scaling Toggle key + hold-to-show key ModMenu support for easy in-game configuration Client-side only - No server installation required Unfortunately for those who play on 1.21.10 (all 1 of you who responded) and those on Forge, this mod currently only supports Fabric 1.21.5 to 1.21.8. For those interested in using it, here are the download links: Modrinth: https://modrinth.com/mod/dynamicnameplates CurseForge: https://legacy.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/dynamicnameplates And here is a showcase of the mod in action.
  16. Modrinth is not a mod loader, I don't care about what launcher you use. Mod loaders are what load the mods like Fabric or NeoForge or Forge, launchers like Modrinth, Curseforge, Minecraft Launcher launch the game.
  17. Grand Version Census Hi, please fill out my questionnaire and there are free cookies on the way out. No this is not LoTC Staff affiliated, yes this is for a clientside QOL mod I am developing. I don't want to support versions that people don't use, to avoid overworking myself. Thanks for your help.
  18. Would people want to use this QOL fabric clientside mod I'm making for fun? TL;DW, It's a mod that hides nameplates from players unless you're looking at them. Currently I'm doing tweaks to adjust the overall "cube of tolerance" scaling for looking at someone from afar, but if there's interest I might actually develop it further.

Would love to use this mod. Do you anticipate any major incompatibilities to look out for?

+1 would be great default feature to have (hiding names is close)

      Venomous_Pup

I would 100% like to have it be if they are close enough to me that it renders the nameplates, but at a distance only when I look, just because I tried doing a stint back in Arcas of hiding nameplates and realised it sucked the moment I walked into a tavern and had no idea who was who when I was emoted at.

    4. Adelemphii

      Adelemphii

I plan on having it easily toggleable, and with a holdable keybind that when held will show nameplates around you. The cone of tolerance and such can also be tweaked live in-game with a mod called ModMenu
