  1. This Lore has been accepted. Moved to Implemented Lore, it will be sorted to it's appropriate category soon. Please note that if this is playable lore, such as a magic or CA, you will need to write a guide for this piece. You will be contacted regarding the guide (or implementation if it isn’t needed) shortly.
  2. Name of Potion: The Muritor Elixir Brief Description: An ancient drought thought lost to history, the Muritor Elixir is the only known cure to the vampiric curse of Corcitură. Whilst common understanding suggests the recipe was first concocted by a medic of the Order of St. Lucien, or a potions master of the Marked Men, it’s true - unknown and unsung - creator was in fact the Archon Solomon, the Scholar, who designed such as a means of quieting the Corcitură pandemic as it swept across Hazmstadt. Recipe: Saltwater (Base) Aether - Purity x3 Aether - Clarity x4 Blood (of the Corcitură’s descendant race) x1 count Effects: When administered in full to a Corcitură who has lost ¼ of their blood, the elixir has a chance to purge the curses of Eireamhan’s bloodline from their host. This process, if successful, would be cripplingly painful to the Corcitură, forcing their fangs and claws to manifest. Over the course of six narrative hours (or one IRL hour, whichever comes last), the Corcitură would be kept in a state of delirium, unable to retract their elongated nails and canines for the duration whilst devolving into a desperate rage, unable to recognise friend from foe and more desperately seeking to consume mortal blood than ever before either by force, begging or blackmailing and being rendered incapable of abstaining from any fresh blood spilt before them. Should this thirst be quenched before the transformation is complete, the potion’s effects will be nullified by the imbibing of mortal blood, the Corcitură’s curse will prevail, requiring another attempt at curing. If, however, the Corcitură can be kept from feeding for the complete duration, they would eventually collapse, their claws and fangs finally retracting as they are relieved of their curse. Redlines: -The Muritor Elixir has no effects on non-Corcitură, as well as Corcitură who have not been sufficiently bled before administration of the potion. -Corcitură who have received the Muritor Elixir and not been cured will develop a temporary tolerance, rendering the potion completely ineffective when in succession within one IRL week. -The act of administering the Muritor Elixir does not require OOC consent, however the Corcitură’s OOC consent is still required for the curse to be lifted even if they have been deprived of blood for the duration of their alchemically induced rage. -Blood utilised in the potion’s creation must be from the Corcitură the potion is intended for’s initial race, and donors of this blood cannot be themselves cursed as Corcitură. -This potion is ‘rare’ and must be taught through sufficient roleplay. -Requires ST signage. -T3
  3. Astley Wick shimmies melancholically in an alleyway, knowing that despite his countless promises, he had let Ludwig down, given up on and deserted his family name. Deep down, the estranged Wick was glad he hadn’t had to formally say goodbye, knowing the tears he would’ve caused.
  4. >complain about Musin not being able to do magic >get told "they can do alchemy and kani instead" >slides into Mordu's DMs asking for kani OOC >gets ghosted for some reason? try to pull up Mordu's alchemy lore instead >seems like Mordu had prepared for this by hacking the forums and changing the background colour of spoilers some months ago ago >I can't even ask for alchemy OOCly either since I can't read black text >tricked into malding on the forums about how the ST have yet again foiled my magic rodent RP >mfw
  5. "But why? Was her mother pushed off a balcony by a pack of musin at a party? If so, completely understandable... Though even then, how am I meant to claim a reward from an anonymous bulletin?" Sir Vulpe Hazmezul, the Count of Izvoroshu, inquires.
  6. Ah yes, Necromancy is bad because the players behind it aren't opting to practice on a PVP server for 2 hours a day and are instead roleplaying, yuck!! You told them @drfate786, what a flaming hot take!
  7. [!] A note is spread out among the various caravans, merchant fleets and even occasional highwayman of the realm, hoping to find it's way into the hands of any and all it may concern. "To whom it may concern; Presumptive lord of chaos, master of disorder, harbinger of doom, et cetera, I have recently come into possession of a variety of artefacts once belonging to your bygone patrons: the demons of Moz Strimoza. Speaking plainly, I wish to re-appropriate these items to more deserving hands than my own, to be deemed by right of coin. Should you be interested in purchasing these hellish relics, please make it known so that we might pursue a more intimate negotiation. With optimism, Kain, The Thief of Fire."
  8. I don't need a crystal ball to see this getting denied...
  9. Read 'Purpose' before making generic assumptions, I beg you.
  10. Corcitură The Cursed Line of Eireamhan Pronounced: Kor-chee-toruh Plural: Corcituri Origin Explanation The Condemned Siliti The corcituri are the cursed descendants of the silit archon Eireamhan, the Hermit. Unlike the immortal siliti - the full-blooded heirs of the remaining eight archons - the curse of the corcituri is a mongrel taint upon the souls of otherwise mortal beings, setting them apart and beneath siliti as a corrupted variant of descendant, as opposed to another creature entirely. Feeding Weaknesses Cursing Cleansing Signates Age In the likeness of their higher race, corcituri solidify in power over time and gain traits through maturity albeit paling to their kin. They are measured in weeks since the posting of the FA. All boons and banes will be retained in perpetuity from the tier they were acquired onwards. For instance, all boons and banes gained at Tier 2 will still apply to corcitori of Tier 3. Abilities Derivative of the traits granted to all greater siliti, those of the cursed bloodline - the corcituri - are only capable of harnessing a handful of lesser boons, slightly enhancing their mortal longevity and recovery along with the ability to partially harness a predatory transformation. Longevity (Passive) Recovery (Passive) Transformation Red Lines -Corcitură is a feat and will require an accepted application. -The terms corcitură and corcituri are not commonly known and must be learned through roleplay; those bearing the curse are most suitably referred to as ‘vampires’ by the general populace. -The origin of the corcitură along with the terms silit and siliti are not known or used in roleplay whatsoever and doing so would be considered metagaming. -Only Humans, Elves, Orcs and Dwarves (or mix breeds between those four) can be cursed as corcitură. -Halflings, all CA races, as well as Paladins, Templars, Heralds of Azdromoth and Druids cannot be afflicted with the corcitură curse. Further, corcituri cannot become any of the aforementioned, with the exception of evolving into full siliti via the rite of rebirth. -The boons of Corcitură cannot and will not override the weaknesses of any other magic. In the case where beneficial overlap might occur, corcitură boons are to be nullified in favour of said magic’s detriment. -By becoming a Corcitură and posting an application, players agree to the same hard shelf (soft PK) clause outlined in siliti lore via the rite of restraints. Outside of being locked in a Crimson Coffin or Mictlanti’s Fetters through roleplay, however, Corcituri are subject to the same death rules and monk revival system as other descendants. -An ST enforced blacklist from the Corcitură feat extends to a blacklist from the Siliti CA. Purpose Compatibility (Clarification + Marriage Pieces) Any magic not listed below is to be considered incompatible with the corcitoră curse unless clarified otherwise by the ST. Kloning is the only CA that is compatible with the corcitoră curse at this time. Miscellaneous Shamanism Affliction Written by Mordu and Zarsies. Referenced Lore:
  11. Oh yeah the guy who wrote that was real stupid. What a moron. I'll fix it now lmao, thank you
  12. Only a tier five alchemist can create this potion.
  13. As for the recipe being simple, and the concern about memory restoration, I suppose it's a difference of opinion but from my perspective this potion would exist - and be made - solely out of courtesy for other people's roleplay. What I mean by that is any effort put into gathering ingredients and administering this potion will ultimately be far more work than it would be to simply kill someone, something that's done far too often without any real regard for IC morality or OOC weight (a big part of the reason so few people PK characters). Memories cannot be restored after monk revival for a good reason: there's plenty of unsavoury people would go out of their way to do so and effectively metagame their way into a situation where they can get revenge, largely out of spite. In the situation this lore presents, even if a certain magic or recipe were required to reclaim memories certain players would OOCly arrange for their characters to 'happen' upon these means simply for a desire to ruin the RP of the person that originally administered the Forget-Me-Shot to them, who by rights could've just saved themselves the trouble and killed the character in question. Leaving the memories permanently lost instead forces people to rely on RP with others - seeking out potential witnesses, alerting authorities, launching an investigation and potentially even giving a character a new purpose in solving said mystery - that would be completely negated by having the potion's effects reversible.
  14. I'd agree with you if I couldn't far more easily just shoot someone with a crossbow/ call PVP and have them die and very directly remove the character development. What this provides is an alternative to murderhobo RP for those seeking to do villainy, along with a means for characters to self-inflict memory loss on themselves (for instance to forget trauma) and spin a narrative of mystery and investigation thereafter should their unaware character then try to undo the amnesia caused. Waking up with amnesia, beaten and bruised or left with some sort of injury is infinitely superior to having people die, choose not to PK and wake up at cloud temple without a scratch on them and no memory of the RP they'd been involved in, whilst also being OOCly forced not to pursue any sort of 'mystery' surrounding how they wound up in that situation thanks to (necessary) death rules. Further I feel the speed of the knock out is somewhat irrelevant, given someone would have to sit still and drink a shot that looks, smells and tastes excessively suspicious (or be held still and force fed it) - even then being able to be regurgitated and have its effects nullified - which is ultimately far far more difficult than simply punching someone in the face to knock them out, or again lethally attacking them to kill them outright.
  15. Forget-Me-Shot (A preferred alternative to murder) Description: A piss yellow liquid that reeks of sulfur, tasting unmistakably like strong alcohol. A full measure would just about fill the common shot glass. Some believe the drink was first conceived in a dimly lit Freeportian pub, for the purpose of helping runaway sailors forget the wives they’d abandoned for a life at sea. Recipe: Distilled Alcohol (Base) A pinch of brimstone Reduction x2 Instability x3 Blindness x3 Silence x3 Effects: When consumed in full, consumers of the Forget-Me-Shot will experience symptoms akin to mild alcohol poisoning within two narrative minutes, worsening until falling unconscious after five narrative minutes following consumption should the consumer not manually force themselves to regurgitate it (doing so would trigger a vomiting fit until all effects bar mild drunkenness are purged). This unconscious period would cause users to mentally black out the events of the past narrative day, rendering them incapable of storing any memories leading up to the drink’s consumption. Further, imbibers of the concoction would be unwakeable from this alchemically induced slumber for thirty narrative minutes. Further, if a consumer had manually opted to concentrate on a particular memory or topic, they could also erase said memories from their mind atop the aforementioned recent events, regardless of how long term. These memories are burnt away permanently, beyond attempts of magical or alchemic restoration. Redlines: -Due to the Forget-Me-Shot’s potent odor, it would be nigh impossible to mask in food or drink as a common poison; any recipe spiked with the potion would take on a rancid sulfuric smell. Further, the alcoholic taste cannot be dampened and will remain detectable amongst even the strongest flavours. -The Forget-Me-Shot would have to be swallowed in full for it’s desired effects, meaning it could not be weaponized by any means other than force feeding. -Whilst forgetting the past narrative day (akin to memories following monk revival) is non-negotiable for consumers of the potion, those looking to forget long term events and topics by having their character concentrate on them before slipping unconscious must OOCly consent to doing so. In this regard a player’s character could not be made to forget the past year of their life unless they expressly chose to do so. -Being left in the hands of player choice, then, the extent of what can and can’t be forgotten by a character (with OOC consent) is undefined, in the same vein that a player could simply opt to RP ‘amnesia’ as an explanation for that sort of change in character without needing the potion. -THIS POTION CAN NOT BE USED IN RELATION TO FTB PLEASE GOD -This recipe is classified as 'Rare' and must be taught IC. -T3
  16. THE REFORMATION OF THE DUCHY OF SAVOY Est. (Again) 1814 After a brief hiatus from the day to day troubles of politics since the fall of Johannesberg, his Grace, Leopold Adrian Ashford de Bar, has decided resurface out of retirement as the Count of Cleves. Henceforth, the Duke has opted to press his claim to his ancestral mantle as the Duke of both Savoy and Drusco. When asked about this decision, which may be interpreted as an unnecessary rehashing of a long dead civilisation that modern humans have mythologised past reason due to Vailorian nostalgia, His Grace explained that upon his two hundred and thirty first birthday he came to the realisation that he was the last living Ashford descendant that hadn't yet attempted to revive Savoy, and he felt an obligation to his countless failed relatives to do so. And so with a groan of disappointment from across Almaris, the Duchy was reborn... Again! OOC: The new Duchy can be found in the northwest of the map, inside of the Nation_Krugmar region. The fastest way to get here is to use your soulstone or if you have staff pex do /warp Savoy.
  17. A dead man upon a distant shore cast beyond the mountains and the sea, a world away from their once shared home, would weep at the news. Though he grieved not for the Cardinal's soul, but his own. "I hope that he in death has built the paradise that I sought in life. Give not. Yield not." And though it pained him, the haunted figure signed the Lorraine for the last time.
  18. Lothar I ,'The Lost', Prince of Rubern 1759 - 1812 'So windy for a cave.' Those were the last words in Lothar's mind, as he hurtled down into the frozen abyss, past the walls of his castle with his heart cut in half. He had no care for the sting of his accomplice's knife in his back, nor the false Principality that would die with him, nor the ancient noble line of Counts, Margraves, Princes and Grand Princes that would end forever once he hit the ground. He did not dwell on his youth, as a prodigy in the Alchemic Arts, on his grand inventions nor his ambition for the future of mankind. He, for the first time in a long time, didn't even give thought to the Kingdom that had betrayed him, when he had sacrificed so much for it. No. Lothar Vladislav Alimar's last thinking moments were busy reflecting on the updraft as he fell into that great cavern of ice... And just how cold it would be once he hit the bottom. And then he did, and the last Prince of Rubern was no more.
