    How does the notion of island expansions strike you? Ex: a small themed island is added to the world, say 1000x1000. Event line ensues and once it's over it's viable, playable land.

      pretty cool bcoz it'll naturally leave the land with some sort of tied in, recent history known to the characters who might choose to settle there post-event
