Cities are where people congregate to have Roleplay come to them instead of start it themselves. That is the main appeal of cities after all. You don’t have to put in lots of effort for RP like you do in smaller settlements. If the players standing around in a town square had any objectives to fulfill they’d be doing that instead of waiting around for something to happen.

The horse buff and lack of a centralized road network (no kings road, no circle road) has already killed road RP. You don’t pass by any other nations on your way to the active city capitals, so you don’t interact with other travelers as often. Even when you do meet people on the roads they are moving at Mach 5 on their horse and you have about 2 seconds to emote to them before they’re already gone. How can fast travel “kill” something if that something was already butchered? I do not understand.

[!] A burrower propaganda poster flies into your face. Darned posters always seemin' to be doing that these days. THE GREAT PUMPKIN It came from the pumpkin patch. One pumpkin larger than the rest. To some, it was an omen of good times, and to others, it was an oddity to be eradicated. Us halflings stared at it in awe as it grew ever larger, swallowing up jug after jug of water from the soil and spawning miniature pumpkins all around it. Its tangled vines spread over the ground, choking the landscape with bushy leaves and bright pale orange spheres. T'was quite the threat indeed! Alas, there is no reason to fear, for after us crafts-halflings had our way with it, all can agree that it makes for a cozy home rather than a threat! Halflings have been on the server since sub-races were added in 2011. Ever since then, halflings and the villages they create have served as a good escape from the rest of the server with our small but dedicated community. It's absolutely worthwhile popping into the village sometimes whenever something crazy is going on just to check things out! I think the Aviary plugin is a step in the right direction at least. It's nice to send in-character messages to people when they aren't online. A big reason that Discord is so dominant is that it's by far the best place to coordinate stuff on. I think the server should invest more effort into expanding in-character communication abilities so that Discord isn't 100% required to plan big events or storylines anymore. Maybe then we could start to slowly chip away at discord leadership cliques in nations and circular friend groups hopping around VCing and ignoring everyone else.

I understand this is probably targeted at like, execution posts or wanted posters where people just straight up post the accused's persona skin, but does this mean if I want to post a screenshot of a tavern gathering (or other similar sort of event) I have to go through and DM every single person involved for permission? If that's the case then using screenshots of roleplay isn't worth it and I'll just resort to random stock photos or old 19th century pastoral artwork for whenever I make newspapers talking about recent events. I know what you're getting at but this change does make it difficult to make certain types of legitimate, non-toxic forum content without a lot of added hassle. I like using shader screenshots for forum posts whenever they're relevant, and sometimes it's nice to show off players participating in events on the forums when it makes sense for an RP post. It's a simple way to put some extra effort into your posts and I'd hate to see that become more difficult.
