  1. this especially due to the fact that many new players aren't properly informed on what a soulstone is, how to use it, or how to even bind it to a place, and thus are stuck thinking they need to MCly run everywhere until someone informs them of this magical teleportation device the other day I had to tediously explain a soulstone to and how to use it to a new player who didn't even know what it was even though they had been playing for a couple of days or maybe a few weeks at that point same thing also applies to horse whistles as far as the "new player experience" goes
  2. although I respect pretty much any player giving a shot at lore writing, personally I'm not too interested in seeing this on the server from what i read it pretty much just falls down to "people who want to positively impact other characters through pranks, laughter, and magic shows." my main point of criticism is that all of this can be largely accomplished by normal, mundane characters who don't possess these abilities. you don't need this magic to be able to pull pranks or host magic shows or tell jokes, as long as it can be explained in RP. even some of the currently accepted voidal magics would be good placeholders for the intent behind this CA my advice to you would be to instead pursue this idea as a guild or family of sorts, as opposed to a CA race

  5. Rain was no foreign happening to the human capital of Providence. Its outdoor plants thrived under the rich downpour of rain, seldom having to be tended to, and it's people understood this. They became privy to this weather. Sometimes it drizzled like a river's mist, other times it fell as a raging downpour. Cass had heard the cries of preachers and theorists — men who believed the rain to be a sign of anarchy or disaster, sometimes even a sign from God. The war had led many to turn to Him for guidance. Guidance was something that could only be bartered and bribed for, bought and sold, so how could they be blamed? Humans, though fragile in longevity, were a people founded upon faith and reliance, and Cass had grown to realize this during his time with them. Elves find kinship in blood. Humans find kinship in faith. That's what sets them apart, and he was no different. It reminded him of home. He was never taught to practice familial bonds, nor sacrifice his undying loyalty to the winter dragon. There were greater things to prioritize, and in his youth, he never understood why more often than not. It came as fact, something objective rather than to be debated. It was often said that it was his responsibility, simply for the reason that he was born of a hopeless mother and a father who pawned his own son in the pursuit of greatness. He never understood the importance of etiquette, manners, verbal eloquence, clean handwriting, brushed hair, buttoned shirts, every step meant to be taken with unfathomable precision. But he did understand love. He did understand how to love, and what it was to be loved. What it was to feel what he was not meant to feel, and it was the only thing he could hold on to if not his brother. So what went wrong? It was a question Cass had pushed to the back of his mind, but it always seemed to resurface. To ponder such an ache-inducing question was a terrible thing for him, so like many other things, he chose not to linger on it. But it always crept back. What went wrong? Of course, two young brothers marred by a childhood of neglect and abuse were not free of their own squabbles. It was a recurring thing for them to partake in verbal disputes, perhaps more abnormal for them not to. They always moved on, however, be it the same night or a week from then. They always found solace with one another, and it was the unspoken truth between them. Many things did not need the words. Yet, there was something so tragic in their love for one another, something so cold and harsh — a bone-rattling realization that often came as a question with little more than an aching throat for an answer. If they could not find peace with each other, then where would they find it?
  6. copy-paste emotes are allowed for the sole reason that there's zero other method of making high quality emotes in the time a player MCly sprints by, you just have to type a different emote every time you halt someone pretty sure this has been allowed for a few maps now, unless mods are being indecisive about what is and isn't allowed since myself and friends have never gotten in trouble for this if it turns out i'm wrong then ill make another forum post to redeem myself 👍

  9. Can we please get rid of the hideous forum spam that is commenting “r” or “reserved” on posts? Most of you know what I’m talking about, but for those of you who somehow aren’t familiar, I’m referring to a common trend on the forums where a post is made, it gets a ton of people browsing it, and suddenly instead of RP-replies, people start spamming “r” or “reserved.” It’s the LOTC forum equivalent of people on youtube or instagram commenting “first” on newly posted content. Most of the time when these r-spammers comment, they never actually change their “r” into RP content. It stays as “r” for who knows how long, and on the slim chance that they actually do go back and edit their comment, no one’s even viewing the page anymore. For the people who don't go back and edit their comment at all, it stays that way and is seemingly never hidden or removed. Like, honest to god I would rather see meme-RP than r-posting, because at least meme-RP is funny People only do this so they can be first in line to get rep on their comment. It’s ugly forum spam and moderating it would hurt literally no one A new rule wouldn’t even have to be added to ban reserved-posting. Like, these rules are already in place, they just need to be enforced No I'm not implying that we make all forum RP follow these guidelines, because I don't expect everyone to meticulously type out a detailed, character-developing response to every post, just that the r-posting is moderated so RP posts can stay clean of spam. here come the wave of genius comedians who are going to type r and submit reply @Disheartened
  10. Not gonna be active on Discord tonight. I'm meeting a girl (a real one) in half an hour (wouldn't expect a lot of you to understand anyway) so please don't DM me asking me where I am (im with the girl, ok) you'll most likely get aired because ill be with the girl (again i don't expect you to understand) shes actually really interested in me and its not a situation i can pass up for some meaningless Discord degenerates (because ill be meeting a girl, not that you really are going to understand) this is my life now. Meeting women and not wasting my precious time online, I have to move on from such simple things and branch out (you wouldnt understand)

  11. my advice to you would be to avoid large-scale communities, especially ones at war if you feel as though it's damaging your mental health chill in a smaller settlement, guild, or lair. hook up with some friends of yours and create self-sustaining RP leave discord servers if you have to, limit it to the ones where you know you won't be exposed to drama or toxicity i know it's easier said than done, but ever since avoiding nation-RP and OOC politics and staying in my own lane, i've been enjoying my time on LOTC considerably more in the last six months than the last six years i've been playing wishing the best to a new player, from an old player
  12. collab skin auction inbound :^)

  13. sorry but its so fkn funny that your message genuinely looked like a phishing scam
  14. name and shame mr burnsider
  15. only saying that bc there are ppl who are advocating for banning all minors on LOTC but can't actually propose a method of moderation when people point out how flawed the idea is. the only way this could actually be done is if we asked people to dox themselves by showing either their face or ID. some of the most malicious people on LOTC have been on staff and I'm sure we can both agree the normal staff member could not be trusted with that power if the solution you propose isn't something that can be moderated any better than the problem itself, it isnt a solution
  16. how would you propose this is thoroughly, realistically, and accurately moderated

  21. "Perhaps those Irehearts are not so terrible after all!" proclaims Brother Wildfire, secluded deep within the western pines. "Short, but not terrible! Being short isn't a bad thing." he ponders his own shortness. "It's not a bad thing. It's not a bad thing. Being short is okay. It's fine to be short. There's nothing wrong with being short. It's not a bad thing. Being short is okay...-"

I'm open to suggestions to help make it easier to navigate -- since I was the one who built it. It was built in 8 hours the night before the 1.16 paste in, so admittedly I did have to work quick on it. I'll take any constructive criticism but I don't think we'll be building a whole new hub.

honestly even if the road was better defined on the terrain it would help. when i first went to south hub i genuinely had no idea where the path was bc it just blended in with the surroundings so much, i think that's the main issue. there's no defined "main path," which is something that a player should be able to see at first glance, the area's just very jumbled together

I'll work on it! Thanks for the feedback
