  1. (( Username: Crevel )) Name: Arthas II Event: Chess
  2. It's a complicated question with a loaded answer that I can't explain that well but I'll try my best. The international landscape of the past two maps have been largely indifferent when it comes to races. Humanity and Elvenkind are split in the sense that there is no single nation for their race. Dwarves and Orcs tend to keep mostly to their own single nation, and a few mixed nations exist as well. Culturally, Human-Elf racial conflict used to be a big thing but it has died out over time and an example of that is that "ear clipping" has been made illegal in the Holy Orenian Empire which was known for human supremacy roleplay in the past. As much as racial conflict used to be a big thing in the past, I'd say that these days conflict goes off of events which are at times fueled by old rivalries. If you want to mention some old battles, some notable recent feuds/conflicts include: Oren (Humans) vs. Sedan (Humans, Former Orenian Subject), Haelun'or (High Elves) vs. Elvenesse (Mostly Wood Elves) I highly recommend you look at the wiki for more information, it tends to describe these sorts of things. https://wiki.lordofthecraft.net/index.php?title=Main_Page
  3. Arthas Edvardsson-Ruric pours his eyes over the missive, taking in its contents for a moment before formulating his opinion on the matter. He reads over it again, ignoring the countless grammatical errors, "Haelun'or has been a minor signatory of the Iron Accord for about a Father's month now and they're already violating the articles of the alliance? If this were up to me, I would be calling a vote to kick out the Silver State already." he would say to himself as he ponders sending a bird.
  4. Arthas Ruric would not smile the sun's smile.
  5. Why would you want to openly brand yourself as an egirl considering the negative connotations and implications that the label brings? Beyond this, how do you define "egirl" and what does it mean to you?
  6. For those of you wishing to apply for staff, please make sure you read the pinned topics that tell you how to apply for staff properly as they tend to be regularly updated to accommodate new information. Don't use a heavily outdated and vague format that you found whilst digging through the Denied Applications section. Beyond this, if you're applying for a team that requires investigatory skills, it improves your chances by showing initiative in locating threads that hold relevance to your application rather than just saying you can't find it. This is especially the case if it can be found in a matter of seconds because it just reflects poorly on your future reliability with investigations. It also doesn't help your chances and/or your tenure if your reason to join is antagonistic in nature, I had to learn this firsthand but it's a lesson worth knowing. Stay calm and mop floors.

On a side note, who thought it was a good idea to hide away all the old staff **** in the Denied Application section instead of making an old staff archive. The forums are a mess.

  10. Arthas, Prince of Norland, would chortle as he hears the speech from a concerned Providence citizen in Haense, "You don't need to worry, little man. If there's one thing that your government has demonstrated, it's the ability to put down any matter of unrest within the 'Empire'. However, the one thing I will give them is that they sure do know how to piss people off, both citizens and foreigners alike. This resistance will not last long, I will tell you that much."
  11. The will of Antonio de Rivera would be dropped from his hanging corpse and find its way into the hands of Arthas. He would then go on to deliver it to the High Keeper personally so that it may find its way to his brother, King Halvar.
  12. "I'm glad that there exists a member of the Canonist Clergy that can at least acknowledge crimes that their colleagues have committed. Hopefully this will result in legal action to be taken against the responsible party involved." Arthas would mumble to himself as he reads a copy of the letter on the way home after purchasing a trinket for his beloved.
  13. More people are being denied than accepted in an amount I've never seen before. Truly a spectacle to behold.
  14. Arthas II, an aspiring Royal Academy student of Haeseni Law and by extension, Canon Law, would overhear the proclamation in Norland from a drunken Hyspian in Elysium. 'Were these the ramblings of a drunkard or does this hold truth?' Arthas would ponder. He would clear out from Elysium's tavern as he ventures the roads to Haense for the Royal Academy of Saint Charles. Upon reaching the Academy, he made his way to the area containing the law classroom. Hunting through the familiar shelves of knowledge, Arthas would eventually find it. The Codex of Canon Law. He blows the dust off the cover as the book clearly had not been attended to in quite some time and it was now time for Arthas to give it some love. The carefully penned script would reveal its knowledge as the tired student studied the codex throughout the night in the halls of the academy. Sleep-deprived and eyes bloodshot, he would tuck in for the night before finally coming to an educated conclusion on this recent event. As he tumbled in the night, Arthas would eventually wake to a stir as he reaches for the Codex he brought home with him. His eyes, no longer wrung with blood, would flip frantically through the Codex once more as he exhales a little heavier. "No.. no.. this is illegal. This is a blatant desecration of their own law. They can't appoint a King while Mr. Francisco retains the ecclesiastical office of being a Cardinal. He doesn't seem to have resigned his post yet. Given that Francisco is a Hyspian, he may also be furthering his own personal interests by taking this 'temporal' position. And isn't.. the vice-chancellor.." Arthas would flip back in the pages, "Yeah! He's encouraging a breach of the Canon Law by not asking him to resign. I can partially understand why this is happening, however it's a clear violation of the Canon Law and it's at the expense of the rest of their Church and the Hyspians, both 'White' and 'Red'. Let's just hope that the High Pontiff is not involved in this or this would be two Pontiffs in a row that violate their own Laws." Arthas would trek back to the Kingdom of Norland, as he awaits a bird for the times of the next class. With the many thoughts on his mind, his interest in the goings on in Almaris' Bible Belt is piqued.
  15. There is clearly a great amount of thoughts and ideas put into the video. I think this may be the best video that I've ever seen come from a player here. Fantastic job!
  16. As with most things, it'll be handled in a fair way as long as it's not abused by certain players. In that case, I can only predict that the feature is removed or rather the far more likely option: player blacklists from using/making fast travel spots if possible.
  17. Personally, I see this as a post about a new feature open to the server. Whether you're a Norlander, Renatian, or Curonian, I don't think this is the place to talk about potential inequalities. Two nations had grandfathered in a ferry system to test the feature and to balance travel times to their capitals with other nations, cool! Nations will be given an intra-nation/vassal travel system when it's smoothed out, perfect! Let's just be grateful that new features are being rolled out and perfected by the joint efforts of Nick and World Team. The world would be a happier place without all the whining.
  18. Arthas II wonders whether or not a follower of the Red Faith could partake in the College of Cardinals to become the High Pontiff. After all, it seems that setting people on fire seems to be a uniting tradition in both Canonism and the Red Faith. He believes he would ask very nicely if given the chance.
  19. Arthas II, Prince of Norland, would read what appears to be a suicide note suspiciously before muttering to himself, "Would I be wrong to believe that it is a sin in the eyes of the Church to take your own life? I do not see why he would such a thing. It doesn't feel quite right to me."
  20. It's the job of the Moderation Team to moderate the server and enforce its rules, as the name clearly suggests. The differing teams work independently from each other, but there is some collaboration if there are projects that align. Now, either you're crass or you're just plain ignorant, the point stands that you don't actually know how staff teams work despite claiming to be a former GM. It is not the job of Moderation to "pressure" other teams to do what they want. Story Team has their own stuff to handle that could be getting in the way of doing events 24/7. Keep in mind that events, especially large events, do require some time to formulate as the creative process is not a simple one. If you're really concerned about events, instead of trying to milk Story Team dry to the point of exhaustion, make meaningful roleplay experiences by yourself and participate in player-run events. Or an even better idea, join the Story Team yourself and make events, you'd be helping everyone out after all!!!!
