Greetings Atherans!

Before I get into detail on the substance of this post, let me first begin with a look into the recent past. In the very, very early stages of the 4.0 project before development of the map itself even began, various staff members were brainstorming ideas on what to do in order to make 4.0, which would later be named Athera, the best possible map we've had yet; things to make it as memorable and enjoyable as possible. While there were numerous unique and creative ideas, most if not all of them were about the map itself or plugins; all necessary and good things, but nothing new and exciting.

However, soon an idea came along that was more up our alley, and it was thought up after something was realized. We realized that we didn't want Athera to just be a "map", but rather a world where players would be immersed fully anywhere and everywhere, a world where everything had background and meaning. It is for this reason that the idea for World Lore came into play, a way for players to feel connected to the world they roleplayed in, a way for them to feel like every location they visited had a backstory that would be further continued by their actions in the world of Athera.

Now, after months of hard work, I am delighted to announce that this massive undertaking by the Lore Team has finally come to a conclusion! Numerous ruins were built prior to release for players to explore, locations have been riddled with secrets to find, and a very involved series of events has been prepared for you, the players, to participate in and enjoy! A certain “Traveler’s Guide to Athera” has also been released by Lagomorphia which gives a brief background of the various regions of the map, which you can read here.

More importantly, however, a large collection of tomes, poems, journals and other writings have been scattered around the map for players to discover! Where are we? Why are these ruins here and what is their purpose? Was anyone here before us? These questions, along with many others you might have about the world, are all answered in these works, and delving into them might just tell you so much more about the world than you ever thought you’d know. Not only this, but a few of these also hint at upcoming main events! However, if this too doesn't interest you, perhaps you might be swayed by the fact that a number of the books clue at possible treasures, hidden locations, and potential mini events throughout the map, and maybe you will be the lucky first to find them!

As of this moment, there are upwards of 30 IG books of various lengths, types and purposes scattered around Athera for you to find, so do not dally! Go out and find them! Also, we will be regularly checking on the book locations to see if they have been discovered yet. In order to prevent the lore from being held by one person, we will be releasing the lore for a discovered book 5 days after it is taken from the chest, and all discovered lore will be accessible here.

P.S. Since the books were only just now added in, it's possible that you've already visited some of the locations where they have been placed. Thus, it is encouraged that you relocate some of the ruins you have found and see if there are any secrets to be found within!

If you were a well endowed female with a round bosom I'd marry you, have 3 kids, go on a drunken stupor and then divorce you. I very much enjoy this immersion!

P.S.S. We’ve decided to add a new rule due to this. Since the admin Patriarchy is overthrowing the server’s interior, we’ve decided to gut LotC’s real enemy from it: the Druids. Playing a Druid will lead to your ban as they are filthy liars and scum as real ones who harness nature at its heart are Necromancers. Please be patient as he implement this rule and usurp our leaf-munching Lore Admin overlord-stick-princess.

Welp. As long as I don't get attuned I'll be alright... right?
