Same as you would with humanoids, animals are just less logical thinking and so illusions don't have to be so real.

One of my friends where wondering if within Earth Evocation, it is possible to create/summon natural magnetic materials, eg: Summoning a magnet.

With this, also possible changing the properties of it being positive/negative.

To evocative something, you'd have to thoroughly understand that something. I'm not sure anyone has even discovered magnets in lotc before. Let alone the fact that we may never RPly understand them, because-

I had too.

From that being stated, you could study the, Lodestone is a natural magnet that will attract objects such as staples, iron filings and needles. To which than learn how you can create/evocate the same rock, and eventually get better an better at intensifying the magnetic compounds. Therefor creating the actual but stronger than the original lodestone magnet.

Additionally, I imagine an elementalist shaman could magnetise a piece of metal by polarising it?

I am only asking for Earth Evo since one of my mates wants to come back towards LoTC and try to not be an earth evocationist that only could evocate magnet type stones. Though that being said is why I ask here. I imagine you could, though I am asking here for confirmation.

Added with Hellie's comment, would alterationists=Enchanters be able to also do things with the lodestones? Make the magnets more intense, ect. To which than a evocationist of earth can learn and discover to evocate for themselves?

If they know what polarising is, and how it works.

Alright guys, the answer is yes, but I hope you guys know what magnetic field distance is. It's less than a foot. Always. Anything more powerful does not exist in nature. Yes you can throw a small stone at someone with armor and it would far more easily hit them, but throw a big rock of that thing and inertia would mean it wouldn't hit him (if it was missing).

Magnetic swords is probably one of the worse ideas someone could have, expecially when fighting someone with armor, what good is a sword that is stuck on someone's armor? Not to mention you couldn't be wearing armor yourself.

For small things like finging bits of iron in mines, finding needle, and so on, Perfect idea, can bring interesting actions to roleplay.

So ye, it's allowed, but I don't really see a fighting use in them, expecially since action-reaction, what you create pulls and get pulled by whatever it's connected to.

I wasn't hoping to use it in a combat situation, like you said there's no reason to. If an elementalist can already manipulate metal then they don't need magnets, it was just a thought.

As an adept conjurationist, I can summon a bull and use it to charge at things etc but I have to stay perfectly still. People say that just having a single bull out would drain me of mana. But I've seen goliath summon a pack of wolves and still be slightly mobile and he could hold it for a long time. Is this just because he was T5 or has something changed?

People complain. Ignore them

As per the rules, a mage is no longer extra super powerful, he just has to be smart to win fights and the like. So a Bull sounds reasonable, small pack of wolves as well. Walking around while controlling the conjurations, not so much... That does depend thought, if it was walking while keeping focus, or just turning around and start running.

What happens if you are using the /bull/ to mount on while it's charging/walking?

Not at all. Not possible with Alteration.
