I know that people might not agree on this but what happens if we change PvP default a bit eh?. In the likes of. The person that is starting to attack the other- the attacker says in OOC.

((Do you wish for Rp or PvP?))
Otherman: (Rp please).

In that you see, that the attacker cannot decide PvP or RP default but the victim decides to RP or PvP so it seems decently fair?

Edit: It could limit bandit players, is what I see randomly PvP'ing you after a few lines of RP.

I have a question about the PVP/RP rules.

If you do not OOCly agree to a RP fight, as in through looc "RP fight?" "Yeah, sure". but someone tries to emote an attack on you, and then you emote a defense is that considered OOCly deciding/agreeing to RP fight, thus cannot just go "pvp default"?

Like, for example.

Bob tries to cut into Joe's left shoulder.

Joe knocks the blade aside, avoiding the damage.

This would act as ooc agreement to RP fight.

Bob tries to cut into joe's left shoulder.

looc: "Pvp please."

That would be you saying you want to PVP. So long as no other RP fighting emotes were made before that statement on your part.

Would I be correct with that?

Yes, attacking in RP would count as starting an RP fight if the enemy reciprocates with his own emote, but if the other party says they wish to PVP then that is what must be done.

@Other replies: We cannot make a rule system that proactively stops all of these things without limiting or restricting the average player. If someone is cheesing the system to get around certain rules then just report them for it!

Bad RP is very subjective. Your example is definitely bad, but it's never as black and white as that. If they added a rule like that, people could just go, "lol rp wasnt good enuf m8" and walk off so they could keep their items, even if the RP was good.

That's why you take logs and get a GM involved. It is pretty easy to tell if RP is sufficient or not.

Blood and violence is fine but if a person says they are not comfortable with a level of detail then you must 'fade to black' it instead, skipping the graphic details.

If you reintroduce the cloud temple rule. There should be a rule that states one cannot camp or wait for people to take one step out of the cloud temple to attack them. As it defeats the purpose. I have seen too many attacks or murders of people literally 2 steps out of the cloud temple. And with that rule. Now they can't return back to the cloud temple to escape the attack. Should just be a rule to stop camping. Or atleast make it so if you are near the cloud temple you can run to it to escape an issue. But not run to the cloud temple from across the map. Like I have heard people doing.

I'll discuss this with alan later, we'll come up with a solution.

One thing to add though. "If you start an RP fight, it should stay RP" or something like that... *pouts*

How do you pvp fight then? Just Pugsy everyone? How about no

You explained the acronym FTB as meaning fade to black, and then in the body of the rules you actually wrote out fade to black. Could you, then, put in the "terms" section what fade to black actually means?

i.e. Fade To Black: The Hollywood editing technique where sexual activity (and gore perhaps? If that's soething we want included?) is eluded to but not explicitly shown.

Sorry, maybe that slipped out when I was proof reading.

Don't have to apologise. I was pointing it out because I assumed it was glanced over as it isn't much of a problem.
