The First Royal Duma

*Heralds come to the various settlements of Oren to inform noble leaders and the general populace of the First Royal Duma*

Hear ye’, Hear ye’!

Our King and Vochnik, Heinrik the First of Name of House Carrion, has proclaimed the summons of the Royal Duma as par Raevir tradition. In hopes of lending his ears to the nobility and resolve issues in a egregious fashion through discourse of politik, a Duma to be held. For many of our kingdom’s nobility, the term Duma is unfamiliar, and as such the King has chosen to elaborate this discussion of holding court between noble and lord.

A Royal Duma holds a procession of one elven week; within this elven week each noble is to schedule a time for meeting with the King and discussing two points; the improvement of the noble’s personal fief, and the improvement of the Kingdom as a whole. Nobility are expected to write three to five points of things they believe must be improved in their fief and three to five points they believe must be improved in the Kingdom as a whole. They are also permitted to address any issues, grievances, or concerns regarding the state which do not fall under those categories. The King will also have a list of prepared inquiries regarding the Kingdom’s current state of events which he expects his vassals to share their counsel regarding such. At the end of the week, if the King sees fit, a Grand Royal Duma will be held, with all nobles mandated to attend barring any emergencies, to discuss as a whole kingdom and region reform, and potentially pass any referendums and legislation that the nobility wish to see implemented.

All nobility within the Kingdom of Oren are expected to arrange an appointment with the King; not solely direct vassals. They are also permitted to bring, at maximum, 2 envoys; whether that consist of guardsmen, stewards, or employed commoners is up to the discretion of the respective noble.

Glory to Oren!

OOC: Nobles please send me a PM either over the forums or skype of a day giving a time and day in which we can meet and discuss things as mentioned in the RP Posts. It should be between 3/24/14 to 3/29/14. As you are all aware I am in the GMT time zone. If you have any questions post on the thread.

My King

It is my personal belief that getting this done could potentially take over half a month, considering how busy the King is and how difficult it is to line up schedules for many of us. I think rapidity and pro-activeness by leadership creates an a powerful ((active)) nation, and completeing this in a timely manner is important.

1) I suggest Heinrik appoints one or two who may perform these meetings on their own, and bring the outcome back to Heinrik.

2) I suggest that all nobles post the points that they develop on this board ((thread)) so that everyone can keep up to date on what everyone needs or would like to discuss at the moment, as well as giving the King a basic overview of the noblemen's requests.

Mikhael sorts his papers in the Krelmstad and prepares for the meeting,

"Many a thing I will suggest, we must grow stronger if this rumor of a Teutonic return is true."

A man with only slightly graying hair by the name of Darek Althered listens to one of the town cryers and sighs.

"I wish I was a noble...again..."

He then laughs to himself a bit and walks to a tavern.
