I actually enjoy the Fringe, mainly because I don't think about how 'bad' it supposedly is!

Honestly, if you stop complaining and log off the forums, it's actually pretty fun :)

It seems hypocritical that somebody who has been inactive for the past year is cracking down on inactive members of staff teams.

I honestly don't care that he was in-active, considering his return was focused on change right off the bat. Time away from the server helps.

what's kind of amusing is that parts of the map have been fully built but then were torn up because they were TOO complete, but huge stretches of land that is supposed to be 'custom forest' is still empty grass. Every time I've been on to work there's lots of joking and chatter (I wont lie I do sit there and chatter with people too from time to time)

But really.. the fringe is old and stale. I havn't logged in or had any roleplay since the plauge incident. even given the size of the map itself, landscaping isn't supposed to take this long. The majority of the shape should have been taken care of with world painter meaning only custom items on the surface or custom caverns will need to be done. A 2 person team whom is used to voxel can whip up some fairly fantastic landscaping in a day or less if they just slam down on it and don't screw around.

Honestly, this fringe thing is really killing LOTC for me. Temporary things like this always kill rp, most people don't stay very long unless they have a sense of permanence. Thinking that you're still successful with 100 people is foolish. I remember when it was common to see 200 or more on a weekday. I remember when non-donators were kicked because the server was always full, and there was a huge riot to increase the slots because everyone wanted to role-play.

I dont see that passionate flame in LOTC anymore.. it honestly feels like its become empty and broken looking for that spark it lost. Then again I've been here so long I've become weary and war-torn by it, and I dont have the bright fresh eyes of wonder I used to when I looked at it. But.. its all just one little lambs opinion.

Viper, while I respect you and am happy to hear that you are back; where have you been?

You talk of weeding out inactive staff members, but nobody has seen hide nor hair of our Head Administrator in months.

I don't mean any hostility, I just ask because I'm sure I cannot be the only one thinking it.

Definitely not the only one thinking it.

Everything else I'm thinking has been said, but what Deckolo said especially.

Kinda stinks that we're still a month off... I'm sure we could get it out sooner if we cut some corners and shoot for a week or two! It'll be worth the wait regardless, I'm sure.

You can either wait patiently and politely, help out or bugger off !

I tried to help. That wasn't successful. No reply

Basically my thoughts. I wish more people could have this attitude.

Also, welcome back Viper. We've seen you work your magic before. It's awesome to have you on board once more!

Welcome back, Mr Viper!

Now all we need is clones of him named "Cobra4Y" and "Python5Z"

You are moderating and overseeing a video game, treat it like a small business and get some action-oriented work ethics in. By no means would one have to treat this as their job or second life, but make each minute you log in for LotC count. It is better to log in one hour and move along an outlaid plan than to sit catatonic and idly chatting with your compadres for five hours.

Removing inactive staff members is good and all, but shouldn't it be done by someone who's actually been there to see and understand what's happening? Viper has been just as inactive (if not even more inactive) as the staff members he'll clear out.
