The Eternal Library of the Mali'aheral stands stark and silent as you delve deeper into its more obscure crevices. The nigh-infinite pages, some centuries in age, are stacked as neatly as possible. Some books are arranged by subject, or perhaps in alphabetical order. Yet many others are simply placed pell-mell inside the shelves, where some poor, beleagured librarian simply gave up. As you pass by the shelves of books one by one, you spot one particularly old tome standing out from the others.

PBcgw6m.jpg

Unlike the mad organisation of the books around it, this one sits on its own upon a finely-decorated wooden podium. The cover of the book is made of a worn leather, upon it a faded picture of a stony-faced high elf gesturing outwardly at those who would look upon it. There is no title upon the spine, nor cover. High elves, after all, do not tend to explain that which should be obvious. Whoever would come to view this book obviously already knew what its contents contained.

Being unable to suppress your curiosity, you pull open the tome to examine the contents. The first page, arguably the most faded and yet still the most ornate, would be hard to read for the untrained eye. Yet were you to struggle through the cursive and beautiful lettering, it would read as thus--

The Bloodline Archive,
the written record of pure families within Haelun'or.

The purpose of the Mali'aheral is within the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya.

Our philosophy stems both from our minds, and our blood.

Silver elves take heed: for the recording of one's family ensures the continuance of our people's health. Scribe your lineage for all to know, and ensure our prosperity for all eternity.

As you turn the first page, the lettering is almost immediately different than the original. Multiple family lines are shown on each page, and there is plenty of room for more additions. Shall you add to it?

((Important stuff you might want))

This topic could be argued as semi-OOC due to how it's set out. Basically, it's a good place to describe your family bloodline and traits that tend to be passed down! Also, it's kinda neat! A few things that should be mentioned:

1) A family tree. There's a good/easy program for making these on familyecho.com
2) A short recountment of the history your bloodline has. Maybe it's just a direct rip from the last VA you did or something. Doesn't have to be long, though!
3) Physical and personality traits that are unique to your bloodline!
4) Anything else you think is relevant! I'll be doing my own on this first, so everyone has something to work off of if they're confused! ;)

Sullas

"Diligence in the face of ignorance."

SVGkzSK.png

XgA4r88.png

The Origins

The Sullas family as it is now has its origins within Aegis, where a high elven couple made their way to Al'Khazar to work as managers/civil servants. These two were the parents of Lucion Sullas, whom both died during the great migration to Asulon, along with Lucion's two siblings. After a period of wandering, he came across the first iteration of Haelun'or, and has not left since. He is likely one of the only members of any Haelun'or government to have never been a citizen of Malinor.

He climbed the social ladder of Haelun'or, and quickly became a member of the original Silver Council. After taking the position of Okarir'indor, he soon met his wife Celia Windsworn, and went on to procure a number of spawn. All of whom (with the exception of Celia Windsworn, who was murdered) commit suicide, with the exception of Ionia Sullas, who is the only surviving member other than Lucion himself.

The Lucion Sullas has continued to be a part of the High Elven governing body ever since his original appointment. During the brief periods of political inactivity, his word carried a degree of authority regardless. It is yet to be seen if his remaining daughter will make any similar attempts at leadership.

Traits

Those of the Sullas family tend to have tall faces, with hair ranging in lighter-greys to whites. Sometimes (rarely) one might come with light brown/blond hair. These can be attributed to the influence of the late Celia Sullas. Their heights remain average for high elves, around 6'3"- 6'6'', and tend to be thin, and pallid.

A Sullas is slow to anger, but easy to irritate. Magic, being only a recent addition to their family repertoire, is not one of their strong suites. However, the sciences tend to interest them far more. They have an eye for research, and a highly inquisitive disposition.

*~Elervathar~*

4HuB7wM.png

"Balance guides prosperity."

*~Origins~*

Not much is known on this family due to the fact that much of them were thought to be wiped out during the Undead wars in Aegis. Elessar and Natulciena splintered off from the family in hopes to escape the wars and raise the budding mali within Natulciena. However the birth of one, Iatrilemar Elervathar, did not come without consequences. The birthing process claimed the life of the mother. The labor of birth left the elf weakened and sickness quickly consumed her body.

Within the early years of the life of Iatrilemar he was taught of the distant culture of his parents however this ideal province became a a far-fetched fable as Elessar died of sickness and Iatrilemar was captured and enslaved by the Undead but was later rescued by the Ascended Sages and allowed to narrowly escape to Asulon.

During his first years of Asulon he worked in a small town, gathering lumber which he would eventually use to buy his home in Normandor. Within his time in the Elven Capital of Asulon he went from a simple farmer, redesigning the farms, to an elite guard having at one point denied the title of High Commander in order to seek a more progressive existence through knowledge.

It wasn't until the exodus from Asulon that Iatrilemar finally found the culture his parents spoke of. On the island of Elysium Iatrilemar, guided by the young Kalenz Uradir, took his first steps to reintegrate into the mali'aheral. He was finally home. He gave up his sword, his bow and his hoe and instead spent the majority of his time training to become an acrobat.

It was during the Anthosian era that the name Elervathar finally began to draw attention. Through the young elves time on the continent of Anthos he worked to progress the arts through the lower council of Malinor as their lead even coordinator only to resign upon realizing the corruption within the Malinorian council. He then turned to magical science after this and used his training in acrobatics to formulate a new magical art form; Arcane shielding. This eventually led him to unlock a new, more conservative form of arcane evocation.

In the ending years of Anthos Iatrilemar wed Ariana Desourir but with the conception of their first child she went missing and was pronounced dead after the evacuation to The Fringe along with their unborn child. With her disaapearance he took up the name "The CareTaker" and moved to an outpost he built after the loss of Lin'evaral which revealed the minor golden pools of Anthos. He is also said to have had political relations to the Clerics of Xan who he insisted transverse the North; saving the thirty man expedition from the dragaar's flames with the art form he developed; Arcane Shielding.

Iatrilemar became more focused. more hardened after this and began to turn to political affairs to distract him from the loss of his wife and his work on the fringe consisted of the development of the inn in Tahn'siol and his position on both the Triumvirate and the Silver Council.

Soon after his arrival in Athera his lost wife, Ariana, was found but with bad news. The unborn baby did not survive her travels,

*~Traits~*

The only known dominate traits physically are stark white hair and pale eyes. Elervathar men seem to stand on the shorter end of the mali'aheral spectrum at 6'-6'3" but what might have been a disadvantage has given him increased likability with valah. Through study it can be roughly stated that Elervathar's have a knack for tinkering both physically and mentally and are consistently designing new theories and contraptions.

- Purity first -

History

The Vul’athri family long lived isolated from the rest of the High Elven folk. In their eyes, the rest of their race was of doubtful purity and they would not deign to live with them.Vellulaei’thill Vul’athri is the first one to rejoin them in many centuries.

There are few recordings of their history that I still possess. One of the most important is the tale of Trelingor Vul’athri. Son of Fralan and Trolli Vul’athri.

Whilst he did marry, he had no other interest but the pursuit of Purity. As he grew older he became paranoid and began to doubt the purity of all around him. In his final years, when he led the noble family, he liquidated all remaining family but his son. He eliminated his wife, her parents and his brother. Unfortunately his parents were already deceased.

He brought up Galamil Vul’athri (My father) and Vellulaei Vul’athri (My aunt) properly and taught them the true values of the Mali’aheral.

Physical & Personality

All Vul’athri have blue eyes and blond hair. It has been so for centuries. Females often have a more masculine physique, with few superficial curves and sharper faces.

All Vul’athri are obsessed with Purity and its preservation. They are extremely racist and hold the Mali’aheral in great regard. It is not uncommon for a member of the Vul’athri bloodline to entertain genocidal thoughts about the inferior races.

They favor red as their color, to demonstrate their great devotion to the protection of purity and to boast their pride in the pure blood that courses through their veins.

From the Niemari side of the family, they inherit their love for technology and the advancement of the race through mechanical means, not magic. The Vul’athri bloodline is devoid of mages or magic practitioners.

A Vul’athri is cunning and patient. Insults will bounce of them like arrows from a Golem, but they will never forget words spoken to them with hostile intent. Much like the snake, the Vul’athri wait for the perfect moment to strike.

Adaelson Family

bPtijDf.png

Origins

The Adaelson family were best known during the times where the races occupied Aegis. Originally the three notable members were Turin Adaelson, his cousin Huwel Adaelson and his brother Arana Adaelson.

During the Undead wars, the three were active fighting against Iblees' forces as members of the Elven Military: The Wardens. In time, Turin went on to marry the Mali known as Jena Adaelson. A druid from Laurelin. However the fate that awaited the Adaelson family was that of misfortune and defeat.

When the Undead wars ended with the descendant races escaping Aegis, it was discovered that Turin was not on the ship carrying the Elves and thus he was presumed deceased. This was extremely damaging to Jena Adaelson and the death of her husband was soon followed by the loss of her son: Jeerin Adaelson.

Jena Adaelson is believed to be alive but her location is unknown. However Arana has not been sighted in many moons and thus it is believed that the man has either gone insane with the horrors of the war or that he too is dead.

Notable living members:

Huwel Adaelson

The only recently sighted member of the Mali'aheral family, Huwel Adaelson is known to be a bitter veteran of the various wars and conflicts he's participated in. Often assumed to be impure due to his cynical views and abandonment of his kin, the sightings of the man is rare and often the meetings are less than pleasant. The years of cruelty have worn the Mali' to little more than a husk of his former himself. How he has maintained sanity is somewhat admirable but it does not excuse his other actions.

V5uB1cj.png

Family Traits

Often typical of many Mali'aheral. Blue eyes and Blond hair. Those of Jena's descent will often have light brown hair and pale eyes. As a result her purity is oft questioned.

Huwel Adaelson's bloodline has remained pure but they have no known children and are now infertile. However some may question his purity due to his tendency for violent action, poor etiquette and his comradeship with Dralex Adexel.

"Sacrifice is the first step towards purity."

-History-

When the High Elves first bathed in the golden pools, they inherited an incredible thirst for knowledge in the arcane arts. One family of High Elves, however, gained the opposite viewpoint. They saw magic as a weakness, a liability which would restrict one's true purpose in life. They were the Elibar'acals, the 'Golden Owls' of the Elves. In secret, they developed their own magical abilities which would negate the power of the Arcane that their brothers and sisters were learning. It is here that one finds the strange flaw in Fi'hiiran'tanya. To defeat magic, the Elibar'acals created their own, one that left them weaker than most other High Elves.

At first, they kept it a secret. Rumors spread of the extensive family and their ability to defeat those who wielded the arcane, clerical, and druidic arts. They would keep to their towers, achieving no real feats in the years of Aegis. They merely perfected their art and their form, and married infrequently, and with strict requirements for allowing a mali'aheral into the family.

Then, in the year 1112, on the eve of Malin's Welcome, a younger member of the Elibar'acal family was caught murdering his best friend. This sickening tradition had been continuing in the family since its conception, and every last member had murdered a friend, a lover, a companion, someone who was close to them. Shocked and betrayed, the mali'aheral cast the Elibar'acal out and exiled them, leaving themselves to fend on the own in the wilderness as a nomadic group of high elves.

It stayed this way for nearly 300 years. The Elibar'acal's apparent ability to hunt down mages had spread to the outside world, and they found themselves without friends, in a world that despised their power. One by one, they were hunted down to near extinction, forced into hiding while still training their abilities. Old habits die hard, it seems, and in the dangerous world, they had to adapt to survive. Some members of the family became warriors, and others anti-mages.

At the end of these 300 years, the Elibar'acal petitioned to enter the Silver City of Lin'everal. They were begrudgingly accepted, and set off on a journey to enter the city. As they normally did, they attempted to avoid the main roads, hiring a bortu guide to lead them through tunnels he had created in the mountains. Before they could get halfway there, however, they were beset upon by bandits. This once numerous family went through an even more torturous destruction, family member by family member being killed at the hands of valah bandits, mages, and several undead.

Aios, Dias, Nethalia, Luithiel, and several unrecorded members of the family were killed in the fighting. Of the ones who made it, only the four 'children', the three brothers (Athri, Naeri, and Iheiu), and the elders Valmuel and Aglaron were ever seen again.

Quickly, the Eilbar'acal acclimatized themselves to Lin'everal lifestyle, getting their own tower and making friends among the higher ups. No questions were brought forth towards their purity, even with the curious reveal of their anti-magic, and their unorthodox nature. They took to cleansing the impures, and assisted the mali'aheral in the defense of the city.

Many Elibar'acal have either gone missing or died in recent years, among them Valmuel, Athri, Aglaron, and Lorei. The four 'children', once small, are now grown and serve Tahn'siol in various ways. The numbers of the Elibar'acal continue to dwindle, as they have for a long while, but the family remains strong, spreading the practice of anti-magic throughout Haelun'or.

-Personality and Features-

The Elibar'acal tend to have golden hair and blue eyes, and a small physique. While one may not notice the physique to begin with, many would see that the Elibar'acal become slimmer with age, some becoming dangerously thin. Their height rests at about 5'11-6'1 for females, and 6'0-6'4 for males.

Physically, they are generally very weak. Once in a while, exceptions emerge. An Elibar'acal may be born with silver hair. This is regarded as a sign of cunning for the Elibar'acal, and those who have silver/white hair have followed this trend.

In terms of personality, the Elibar'acal vary. However, the family itself is very strict, seating discipline and purity atop the agenda. Strangely, though, they can be seen as very unorthodox. They wear golden necklaces in the shape of an owl, sometimes regarded as impure. They can sometimes be found talking to themselves, they have very tight-knit bonds with friends and family, sometimes defending them past the point of logic.

They are indeed a strange family, but a successful one nonetheless.

Family Tree

VfJ9UWs.png

[[This is the real family tree - shows incest. In game however, all family trees show that each pairing is non-incestuous, so as to remove this stigma from the family. Only few within the family know of the previous traditions of Visaj.]]

Traits

Physical:

-Blonde or White Hair

-Blue eyes

-Slim figure that stands 5'11" - 6'2"

-Quiet voice, just above a whisper

Personality/Beliefs:

-Loyal to the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya

-Believe in high standards for purity

-Enjoy gossiping

-Competitive

-Maximum Narcissists

Etymology

Originally the Vihai family, translating to the Elven word for 'whisper' the Visaj name came about with the lisp of Sirondil, assumed to be a trait gained from his incestuous parents. The consequences of his inbred trait led the name to be mispronounced throughout the entire family, despite Celithrarion's efforts to rectify this through the writing of the name.

OOC Note

If you wish to join and roleplay in my family as any of the living members, simply message me and we will see if you are fit to play a Visaj.

The Sythaerin Theme

To be played at any Sythaerin weddings, funerals and other official family-related gatherings.

History

To be added

Traits

Most Sythaerins are born with either lightblonde or silver hair. As they age, it may dull slightly but it will remain bright if not become brighter. Their eyes range from a variety of shades, mainly blue or purple. Sythaerins are moderately tall, ranging from 6'6" to 7'. Sythaerin males have been known to grow either a stubble or even a full beard over the centuries. These are, of course, to be tended to nicely and kept in a fashionable state such as a goatee. The Sythaerin posture is an athletic one, with wide shoulders and thin waists. Their faces are known to be stern, yet pleasantly comforting when in a good mood.

ZfBMulj.png?1

Origins

As an elf of elcihi'thilln, his parents, parent's parents, and their parents before them, lived and died serving with the Sillumiran. Ker'ento'eth too entered the Sillumiran, and served diligently and with pride in protecting Elhaelun'or, if not for the act of taking life. One of the few families of the silver city to be devoted to martial pursuits, it is believed he would have been a soldier of some prowess. It is thought that he eventually settled down and founded a family, as evidenced by his daughter, however, any and all further details - and by consequence, proof - have been lost to the Cataclysm. His child, however, by name of Haelun'heial Larebil'thilln, survived, and eventually met another elf known as Ibar'ilum. Ibar'ilum was a stark contrast to Haelun'heial - a scholar, he preferred the arcane and the sciences to the martial arts.

It was through their union that the bloodline of Parir'taliyu came to be today - a meld of martial discipline and scholarly devotion. The couple birthed two sons, one of whom would go on to become a wanderer and a physician, the other to become a cold and logical mathematician.

Avern'ayla travelled to many places, his training as a child keeping him safe, his mind keeping him prosperous. After one particularly long journey, he found history on a repeat, as he met Annil'andria Maehr'lyu. Their marriage came to be, and birthed a scholar, Asul'athri Parir'taliyu. With a particular penchant for knowledge and the scholarly arts, Asul'athri set off to discover some of the most well-hidden secrets of his time - what was the nature of the spirits which haunt the halls of the dead?

But alas, he was never able to make his discoveries. For the wood elven menace struck at Silver, and Bronze splintered it's beauty. Thus, the mali'aheral fled, and some took up arms against their enemy. Thus did Asul'athri, seemingly following in the footsteps of his most ancient ancestors, and striking down the elves of Bronze, he rose to lead his people from an age of chaos into an age of order.

It was then he passed on the torch and sword, back to the predecessor Ikur Seregon whom had once served and led before him. From there, he settled back down into civilian life, waiting for the day when the forces of chaos would rise again - for with the betrayals of his right and left hand men of Rotharr and Braxus Ni'leya, he was sure it would be wont to come. The time would undoubtedly come where he'd be forced to take up a blade against former lliran and kae'onn - but until then, he planned to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet - waiting for a newly discovered sister to come and join him in elcihi'thilln.

Traits

Physical

While the physical appearances of the Larebil'thilln family have been lost, those of the bloodlines of Parir'taliyu and Lyu'maelu both sport silvery-gray to platinum white hair. The lineage of Lyu'maelu holds particularly pale skin, and the lineage of Parir'taliyu comes with that of pale eyes. A voice filled with conviction is common to Parir'taliyu, meant for crying out their discoveries for the benefit of their race, and a languid, bland, emotionless voice to Lyu'maelu, meant for keeping wisdom safely to the self. One of the sole remaining details pertaining to the bloodline of Larebil'thilln is their rigorous discipline, and a stronger-than-average physique.

Mental

Gifted with great mental fortitude, it is difficult to break the family member's mind. Often cold, distant, and distracted by their studies, there are those who will find them unsociable excepting circumstances pertaining to research. Diligent and disciplined.

The Aeléyèlsa Family

Live By Ice

Family Sigil

fvqLywE.jpg

Origins

The oldest recountance of a member of the Aeléyèlsa family is that of Aurea Aeléyèlsa. Her life chiefly consisted out of wandering the great world of Aegis and living in Laurehlin. Upon marrying Ker’Athri, they created the following Aeléyèlsa, Vallel’Yuln, or Yuln for short. The crossing to Asulon was made, yet not all stories can be happy. Aurea was soon brutally murdered by Mori. Yuln was left on her own.

Having grown up away from the Mali'Aheral population, young Yuln travelled around with a Mali'Ame for a while, learning the skill of archery from him. Their ways parted and shortly thereafter she travelled to the silver city to learn more of her lineage. She settled there and learned the Mali'Aheral ways, but some part of her roaming freedom always stuck to her and would lead to problems later in her life as she couldn't fully fit herself to the perfect Mali'Aheral standarts.

For a time she lived there peacefully. Watching the city being constructed around her, the process piqued her curiosity. While she watched this process she also travelled a lot. Unknowing of her mother's fate, she often ventured into the Moriquessir' caverns as she found that race fascinated her. However when tensions got high between their two races, her visits became few and far between until one day they were all gone.

Meanwhile she had become more involved in the construction of the city and had begun helping. Under orders of the city's leaders she renovated and reinforced the entire city wall. In the later parts of this process she even designed parts of the city's defenses, this was the beginning of her later career as architect.

During this job she got to know the city's farmer, Delonna. While they didn't initially talk much, eventually they became friends and she would often try to help him through hard times. Though this their relationship became more than friendship and they became lovers, eventually marrying him. From this marriage came the latest member of the family, their daughter Lelien.

Lelien was raised and educated by the highest standing Mali’aheral one could find in Haelun’or and quickly became the youngest Tilruir’indor there ever was at the age of 26. Years passed and the Mali’aheral made their way to Anthos. Yuln made friends with the wrong people and she got into complications that led to her becoming a monster, a Fjarriauga. The relationship between mother and daughter diminished nigh immediately. The relationship between her and her husband, however, did not.

The downfall of Lin’everal and the death of her partner, Acaele Lazul, caused Lelien to take up action within the Tomb. She stayed devoted to her position as Tilruir’indor, but decided that more had to be done to regain the power and glory the Mali’aheral once had. Lelien ran for Sohaer, and won for no one dared challenge her. Throughout the entirety of Lelien’s uprise, Yuln stayed sheltered in a cave.

The time of the Fringe was a horrid one. Sohaer Lelien Lazul frantically tried to keep Haelun’or a bastion of peace, yet was quickly undone. She stepped down in shame, and married Eleron Sylvaeri. The couple only lived for an Elven day before Lelien was beheaded and Eleron burnt at the stake by humans. Lelien was the last Aeléyèlsa, and the chance for another to come around is slim. Yuln is still alive, but infertile the way she is.

Traits

The most striking trait of an Aeléyèlsa is the orange hair for both males and females. Eye colour ranges from blue to the occasional green.

Personality wise, the Aeléyèlsa’s are kind and loving on the outside and to those whom they care for, yet ruthless to those who cross them.

(( I hope this translates correctly to "Silent song"))

"One Learns more by listening than preaching"

Family Sigil

Lost to Time

Origins

The Lyu'len Family was a mali'aheral family that did not care to be noticed and did it's best to work in silence and not to be notice by others. Though this did not last as all but three members of the family were murdered during the time of the White Rose. A few members of the family survived until the time of Athera where the remaining members of the bloodline were purged by the Mali'ame.

Now only Mediliyur remains, the last remaining member of her line.

Traits

In the lyu'len Line Purple eyes were not uncommon as many of the females had them. The lyu'len taught to stick to themselves and study rather than speak with others.

Family Tree

Leona lyu'len - Mediliyur's mother

Mr. lyu'len - Father to Mediliyur, his name lost to time.

Mediliyur lyu'len - last Remaining member of her family.

Origins

The exact origins of the Wrynn Bloodline are unknown, it is hinted that this bloodline had been adapted from several generations of adapting Mori'Quessir, learning to live in the sun with dire consequences. The bloodline lived secluded from other high elves at the time, however it is not exactly known if the Wrynn Bloodline, is a line of Elves at all. Their close resemblance in physical appearance would suggest so, however it has never been confirmed.

A disease hit the bloodline and the only surviving member, who seemed to be resilient to the disease, was Red Wrynn - Son of Illcun Wrynn and Azure Wrynn. All knowledge of the bloodline is being found throughout him, as he is the last surviving member.

The bloodline tended to be filled with mages rather than fighters, as each member of the bloodline has a mysterious bane to metal, causing skin to bleed or come out in a rash.

Traits

Most members from the Wrynn Bloodline will be above 6ft.

Most members will have golden or platinum resembling hair.

Most members have a blue/purple eye colour.

The Wrynn Bloodline tends to be very respectful to other races, and is open to new ideas, their motto "We are far from our own" is a representation towards their philosophy about stereotypes and how they are vague. Most members from the line, tend not to judge on apperance or race, but rather personality, they believe that nobody should be judged by a stereotype until proven fit.

Not only does the motto represent this, but it also represents the line itself, showing that they are a hidden line, living in seclusion.

The Wrynn Bloodline members tend to excel with magic, it is seen that they learn quickly from their teachers or themselves.

All Wrynn Bloodline members have a bane to metal ((Iron)), it causes their skin to bleed or come out in a rash.

In most cases all Wrynn Bloodline have a Cyan aura, however when one does not have a cyan aura, a child of the Wrynn Bloodline will be named after the colour of their aura, as it is seen as a great privilege to have a separate aura from the rest of the Bloodline.
