Your View: Ipb Skin Changes

Please use this thread to give input on the Invision Power Board skin in planning.

Input should be helpful even if you don't like the changing of the skin. Replies to this thread should look something like this:

"I would really like it if we used [This] style mixed with [This] from www.thiswebsite.com."

"Maybe a good way to go with status section is like www.thiswebsite.com"

If you dislike that we are changing the skin for IPB 4.0 and have nothing helpful to add other than your discontent, please refrain from posting... your post will be hidden and you may receive a warn. We are looking to make these changes for forum to keep up to date with the release software due to compatibility breaks with the skin due to the update. This will be required sooner or later so I figured now would be a good time to get some input on general aesthetics of the future skin to better inform the designer on what we wish the forum to look like.

Be aware that as this is a pre-conceptual stage of IPB skin updates will come when ready.

I liked the skin that was used during Asulon (as seen here http://web.archive.org/web/20120612021300/http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/) the best. I feel it has a slightly lighter tone and looks less bland. If we could have something similar to this, I'd be happy.

If not, I'm probably going to look stupid and request this to be removed.

But I like the one Overland linked. But perhaps that should be changed a bit to have some kind of images on the sides to look flashy.

I remember we had one where the header was surrounded by wheat sheaves or something?  I liked that the best.  At the very least, give a really awsome dramatic header that looks really good when you first load up the site.  Helps to make an impression on prospective members.

 

EDIT:  For some reason the website sometimes gets greyed out for me whilst navigating.  I'll go to a new page and it'll look duller.  I don't know if its something with my machine or what but if its server side fix pls.

Really like the sleek clean bethesda forums look. Maybe add some more fantasy-esque elements, but that just seems like an awesome forum theme.
