Ladies and gentlemen, statuses were removed on September 9. Today is October 1. It has not been a month, so please stop saying so.

I agree with El_Hwaldaro, but I won't fan-boy him.

You shouldn't fan-boy me over anything. I only said what I wanted to say.

It's nearly a month. They shouldn't have been removed for so long, if at all.

A week till it has been a month, I truly wonder what these next seven days will tell the admins that they haven't already learnt.

Now that is has been a month since the removal of status updates, I shall offer my opinion. I feel disjointed from the server, disconnected from the friendly environment of LotC, but also relish in a slight dip in forum-based drama. I want status updates to return for the first two reasons; however, for the last reason, it is my hope that the status updates are more heavily policed. As Rittsy stated in his reply that locked the flame-ridden thread about the original issue, the forums have long been a cesspool of drama. Perhaps they are also ventilation, but I do not enjoy reading hatred in small quips along the side of the forums.

TL;DR? Return status updates, police them more heavily for trolling. Thanks for reading.

Don't rush them guys. You're all sounding like my girlfriend on her rag. "I want sushi... NOW!!" We all have lives (some may not). Just give them a few days and then bother the crap out of them.

Status Updates - What's the harm in them?!

You're hearing it straight from the horse, status updates and reputation had absolutely no negative effect on the server's functions and cycles. I personally found it undeniably ridiculous that this little experiment had to last a full month to see its "full" potential. There is no potential to be found in taking away, rather than in giving. The staff is always going on about our top notch community, so you'd want to silence their voices on the forums to keep the charade in action? In the Declaration of the Rights of Man formed during the French Revolution, it states the following: 4. Liberty consists in the freedom to do everything which injures no one else; hence the exercise of the natural rights of each man has no limits except those which assure to the other members of the society the enjoyment of the same rights. These limits can only be determined by law. and-- 10. No one shall be disquieted on account of his opinions, including his religious views, provided their manifestation does not disturb the public order established by law. In the First Amendment of the U.S Constitution, it advocates for: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

You're violating what I consider our natural rights. Let the community have a voice, anywhere and everywhere they can. Stop delaying every damn thing. Reputation doesn't hurt anyone's feelings. Get with the program.
