THE SOCIAL PRESERVATION ACTS

 

The Act of Female Modesty

  1. No female citizen of the Holy Oren Empire is exempt from this law.

  2. All females of the Elvish and Human races within the Empire are to cover themselves in such a manner as is both proper and pleasing to the Creator.

  3. Dresses are to be NO SHORTER than two finger lengths above the ankles.

  4. Dresses and/or blouses are to completely cover a woman's naval and back; they should also at least partially cover a woman's shoulders.

  5. Upon passage of this law, the wearing of pants, shorts, or trousers by the female gender is henceforth forbidden.

  6. Upon first offense of breaking this law, a local town guard or lawman may tax the woman up to 50 Minas; they should then be shown to the nearest tailor to order proper garments. Repeated offenses or failure to comply with a guard/lawman will result in 5 lashes for each refusal.

This Act above only applies to the Female Nobility.

 

The Act of Church-Going Behaviour

  1. No weapons are to be allowed in any Church of the Canon.

  2. No spitting, excretion of waste, profanity, nor any other unholy actions are to be done within a Church of the Canon.

  3. Attendants of Mass are to be silent during services, so as to respect the Priest residing over them.

  4. Breaking of any of these laws will result in eviction from the Church building in question, in addition to a 50 Mina fine.

 

The Act of Business Etiquette

  1. No weapons are to be drawn in a tavern or shop of repute in the Holy Oren Empire.

  2. A business owner is to be respected and listened to by customers whilst on his property.

  3. Businessmen are to benefit from the fruits of their labors; however, conducting illegal activities within the Empire or breaking mercantile law will result in a punishment specified in the Goldman-Carrion acts.

  4. Fair business is to be conducted, with honor and honesty. Failure to do so will lead to disrepute.

  5. Any robbery of any sort of business, large or small, will result in the dismemberment of the limb used to commit the robbery.

  6. It is henceforth illegal to sell shoddy or broken goods, as well as products that utterly fail to fit their stated description.

 

This collection of acts shall be set into effect immediately, should His Majesty, Emperor Tuvya Carrion the I, will it so.
