I just thought... how many of the GM's will find Cappy good when he's like he is/was to players towards them now. Gasp... the tables have turned. !

I don't love or hate cappy, but do you honestly just not listen to anything coming from an orenian or dwarf player? From what I've heard (And I will warn you this is merely hearsay), Cappy is incredibly quick to pull the trigger and deal bans. Quite a lot of players dislike him, and he seems to have an axe to grind with Oren and Urguan simultaneously. I haven't once seen Cappy in RP, throughout the entire two-odd years I've been on the server. This leads me to believe that Cappy is incredibly exclusive or simply does not play the game or interact with players. My experiences with Cappy in modreqs have been sub-par, and I've noticed people complain that he "shoots down" modreqs.

I'm going to be horribly rude here and say, that if I were an admin, I wouldn't see Cappy as anything greater (in power/responsibility) than an ET. I'm almost certain that whatever decision was made to coronate him as admin was made without the consideration of the playerbase, and especially not that of Oren's players. It doesn't help that I find out that several players were banned for "toxicity" and other vague reasonings in the past few weeks.

Cappy's basically a robot, this is meant to be a compliment. If the rules don't explicitly state you're able to do something, you can't do it if he answers the req. My exposure to him, while frustrating at times, has been perfectly understandable in turn. I think the people criticizing him should also take a step back, and look at the situation they were in, and see if they can reach the same conclusion as me.

At the very least we don't have to worry about him tampering with actual IG RP through the means enabled by mod status, spawning items, closing off regions, etc. and that's a comfort to me.

+1 for Cappy, being genuine here.

It's not against the rules to express your opinions, lol. Unless you're breaking other rules by doing so.

-snip-

To the contrary, I've always had the ultimate goal in my mind to make LotC a better place, and that includes removing members of the community who contribute nothing except negativity to the server as a whole. I'm notorious for being strict and sometimes harsh, but I'm not afraid to do what's necessary regardless of the backlash I may recieve for doing so. I don't expect everyone to welcome me with open arms because of it.

I'm still not sure where the majority of "bias" claims come from, as the only group I'm heavily involved with is frost witches and even when I issue bans to players, I'm usually not even aware of what their in-character alignment is. I don't lay any consideration on what faction or group a player is aligned with.

Cappy, do you hereby recant your desire for lewd art that certain individuals have found? That is all I ask, then I shall back you. We've butted heads before, but oddly I've found myself agreeing with you in certain situations.

-1 I believe Cappy is not level headed enough for the position, and is the center of nearly all criticism for the GM team.

Regardless of what the players say the decision is made and RIP in Peace, time to buy more minecraft accounts from nodus forums.

Looks like I cannot +1 the -1's anymore.

I don't necessarily agree with every decision that Cappy makes (hell, he banned me for a month), but that doesn't stop me from seeing that he's one of the only GMs with whom I actually agreed with almost constantly in my time as a GM. And while he bans people rather than just pitter pattering around issues, I can only see that as a good thing for the most part. Misfiring is something we all do, and not always out of malice.

I'll see how things turn out with Cappy as an admin. The people over exaggerating and saying stuff like "I-I dare not even speaketh of my discontent towards Cappy, alas I be cast out into the darkness and banned." are simply being ridiculous.

That's terrible that Cappy is seen well by only the GM team and a few players who've been on it/know him ooc. Not really a smart choice IMO but I can't argue.

I never said he is only seen well by the GM team. In fact, I worded it very poorly. I meant to say that most GMs find that they see Cappy in a better light when they join the GM team, rather than before they may have viewed him in a different light.

OMEGA GOOD JOB !

Out of the current Global Moderator team, Cappy was the best choice coming and that's honestly fact, then again you do speak about removing inactive admins... I believe some people (including me) were expecting Urasept to be removed, but hey hopefully this will kick his butt into gear!

In case you didn't notice the hints in my post, I said that we did consider removing other admins, but we are willing to give them another chance based on our new policy.

That's strange. I'm pretty sure Eyad's picture didn't break any rules at all, he was just making his opinion clear. And if you find the way he did it offensive, well, I've seen much more offensive ones on here.

It is not you who decides who contributes nothing but negativity. To believe that you have the ability to objectively evaluate everyone and say 'This person is bad for the server and therefore must be banned,' is nonsense.

There are those who believe you fall under that category. Do you propose that you know better than all of them in the cases where you proclaim others 'toxic' you are right, but in the cases that we claim you to be 'toxic,' we are wrong?

Many people do not like eachother on Lord of the Craft, and that is how it will always be so long as it is factionally based. To ban people for disagreeing with eachother or for being 'toxic' is, as I said, absolutely subjective and a perfect example of an inability to approach a situation with a level head and without bias. Not to mention it is a breach of the doctrine which I have heard many whom posted here praise you for; banning people based on their violation of the rules.

Roleplaying poorly is not something to be banned for, it is something to be corrected. Being "toxic" is, as I said numerous times here, absolutely subjective. By banning certain people, you may relieve certain members of the community of their mutual dislike, but you also ruin the fun for those who enjoy the company of the members whom you claim are "toxic."

In all seriousness, this is what I feel this server is coming to. If the staff does not listen to the Players, how is this server any different from the totalitarian government led by INGSOC. in 1984? We the people outnumber the admis, who are here for "Our Benefit". We should choose who becomes a GM or Admin. We should choose who we want to govern us. I'm sorry, cappy, but this is my opinion (Which I'm hoping isn't removed, as many status' in the past have been). Staff should not be brutal, they should be approachable.
