If someone punished you for that I would punish them just as quick. Most people find that they have to become a GM before they realize that Cappy isn't actually so bad.

Maybe Cappy's new role will enable him to take a managerial role rather than field work, this might make the players see him in a new light. Whatever the case I have no objections and haven't had any problems with him personally, so I support.

I actually have no opinion of cappy. I have only ever had 1 modreq done by him, and I was unfortunately away from what needed to be unlocked. So I will form an opinion of his solely based on him work as admin. I've heard bad things, but I think some of it is just rumors or over done. Which is what others should do, since his mindset might/will/could change do to the new job.

I'm not sure how this will play out. I can see why it would work, since Cappy does have a robotic way of doing things. Though as we've seen before admins aren't usually boots on the ground. So maybe he/she(i'm sorry I really don't know at this point) will get other GMs to hold themselves to a higher standard.

Cappy at the very least is consistent, from my dealings with him. This doesn't mean all of my interactions have had a positive conclusion, of course, but he's consistent in his work.

 

There's a substantial amount of players on this server, and over the course of Cappy's career, hundreds of people have played on it. Additionally, Cappy seems to really, really delve into his work as a moderator. To the extent that some frost witches actually get a bit frustrated by his lack of presence in order to RP with his character. So, with that established, it doesn't seem logical to immediately assume that Cappy has it out for anyone specifically, or knows anyone enough to make allowances. It's probably more fair to assume he has no idea who people are. I'm guilty of the same thing sometimes. I have no idea who some people are from when I RPed with them on another character like a year ago. On top of that, people regularly change their names on forums, they have Minecraft alts, etc. It's pretty much impossible to keep tabs on everyone, so it seems to be an error on some people's parts to take things personally. Likely if Cappy has addressed an issue, it's because someone was being an idiot, and they were unlucky enough to be an idiot while Cappy was on watch. Wrong place at the wrong time, doing the wrong thing. If people think he's going to mass ban Oren or Urguan or whoever else, well, maybe that reflects the conduct of the majority of individuals within those factions, and perhaps even their own awareness of their behavior. It's not as if I'm a saint either, people have seen plenty of my **** ups. I consider myself lucky, however, to not have slipped up in front of the fellow and I feel sorry for those who have.

 

But, seriously, where is the proof? Happyshackles is the only guy providing what seems to be a legitimate, accurate argument. Memes and single sentence, passive aggressive responses are not the way to go about solving this apparent issue. Making a big deal about someone being banned for intentionally poking the bear isn't going to get you anywhere either. That would be like making a HUGE deal about getting banned on Darkages for spamming Krug or Malin, which I never saw anyone do, they just laughed it off. If you guys want to be taken seriously, and you feel your words should have weight, act like it. The majority of these responses are just garbage. Considering the fact that the LotC staff is actually putting up with it, personally surprises me. As said before, it's a Minecraft fantasy roleplay server. Have you seen other servers? Have you seen the way most server staff teams conduct themselves? LotC staff is far from perfect, but they're far from being the worst in turn.

 

As far as personal attacks upon Cappy go, that in turn is beating a dead horse. I've heard that rumor for ages. Everyone has their kinks, and I'm pretty sure if we delved into anyone's personal stuff, we'd find something to pick at. Don't do that, that's bad karma. Despite all of this though, Cappy has stayed with it, once again he's stayed consistent. He didn't use LotC as a social experiment, adding to the already confusing circumstances that surrounded the exodus of the particularly devout mogmen. He hasn't made illustrious claims, nor announced ambitious pursuits, only to give up literally weeks later due to apparent resistance and hostility. He hasn't broken the server in any way, like doing a rollback or something. And while his avatar may be a somewhat skimpily dressed woman, at least it isn't a Nazi. Despite comparing him to a robot, Cappy is a person, a person is not perfect. Cappy at the very least, however, is consistent. Most of the arguments I'm seeing against him are simply pots calling the kettle black.

 

He's active, he gets **** done, he's unaffiliated to anything IG (which based on mods I've dealt with who have had IG positions, I consider this a good thing), and he loves the server. I still remember him regularly spamming the status bar before being a mod, while he still had a Dwarf, telling people to vote.

 

Just give him a shot, focus on playing the game. If his status as admin actually inhibits your ability to play on the server, then there is an issue, but only then is it really an issue.

Well, this was an interesting choice. Hopefully it bodes well for the server. At the very least, it has yielded a lot less backlash than one would expect, which is good I suppose.

For those of you giving Cappy a hard time about past choices, shame on you. Can't you just be happy that someone that actually does work on the server is now an Admin? I have never had a negative experience with Cappy as a GM or player. The first interaction I remember was back in Asulon as a player with Scarletekaiser in Simonia... You may have distroyed my tower in an RP battle with the White Rose... <3 Again, many congrats and the rest of you quit ya b****ing!
