The Fallacies Of Invictus

Letters are displayed across Athera, Stamped with both the seal of the Winchester family, and the Seal of the County of Highclaire, containing the following message:

The mercenaries, namely Invictus are all wanted, for terrible crimes, which are unexplainable.

They have murdered in cold blood Great Ser George Winchester, Ser Edmund Winchester, and made several attempts on the life of Lord Gregory Winchester. These actions were taken before these people even knew who they were.

As such, the Winchesters killed the attackers, later to find an Army attempting to invade Highclaire, killing all those innocents that remained inside the County.

The Winchester family offered them peace, and a chance to lay down arms, before it would defend the Citizens of Highclaire, and themselves.

The bloodthirsty, cold blooded mercenaries made the statement that 'There will be no peace until you fall'

As such, in an act of defence, justice, and retribution, they marched with allied forces upon the fort where the enemy hid.

Reasoning and peace talks were attempted, however the murders would not accept such, and as such fired a volley of arrows upon the army of men.

This was the final straw, the army of 1200 smashed their way through the fort, capturing it, before abandoning it, for the fort serves no greater purpose.

Those left were given the option to lay down arms, or face justice. They continued fighting.

As such, justice was served for those who lost their lives, and those whom Invictus attempted to unlawfully and cruelly subdue.

Know that no man is a puppet of another man, from another Kingdom,

For if people come to our home, kill our family, friends and people, then attempt to subdue you, it is not only your instincts, but your duty to ensure such a terrible thing does not happen.

The Invictus, are now wanted men. Crimes they have committed and nearly at the point where retribution is not possible.

A final call for a ceasefire is given now, Invictus, for this is your final warning.

You stole from us, killed my family, tried to kill me and subdue my people.

Justice will be served in due course.

The men of Invictus cowardly break into my fort when nobody is there, and break into our Home when we are dining.

Not once have they defeated our men, nor shall, they ever.

I warn all members of the public, Invictus are armed, dangerous and insane.

Note to all Droods and Elves living in the Direct vicinity: I caught word of their plans to expand territory, from my men inside Invictus. I suggest fleeing as such, I believe there to be a grove or settlement nearby that they wish to take over.

Katari glances at one of the letters, scratching his head in confusion.

"Who the Nether are these Winchesters and what is a 'Highclaire'?"

George Winter sighs, hearing of the message. "The 'Winchesters' and their 'Knights' are stubborn illegitimate fools."

Glacio Nereus walks over to his friend Katari and begins poking his cheek repeatedly.

"Duuuuh, they're that group of people that did the thing nobody cares about!"

Cackling... Rapid laughter is heard. Insane laughter. A young man dances down the road as if on a stage. Torch in hand he grabs one of the letters and looks at it. Skimming it over as if paying no mind to the words Adio Lunas licks his lips seeing the name 'Winchester'. With that the letter goes up in flames, his duties carried out. A few slashes place in the wood where the letter previously was, C-R-O-W, it said. Adio then proceeds to dance down the road to find another one as ordered.

"I'm Ca-Coming Wi-Winchester friendsssssss."

Lord Gregory has word of the clinically insane gentleman walking down the street, setting alight to the posters and says

"I guess that is a no to peace."

Informs his men to ready up and says "They cannot live without killing and destroying without reason. They are evil"

Christopher Blackwell scratches his head. "None of these men are knights, though. They're actually worse than elves."

Adoros scratches his chin for a moment, "Your accusations toward us stand on no ground after you brang hostilities to our fort and then kidnapped my lieutenant only to be backhanded not once but twice by the Invictus before you cowardly vassalized under Galahar for their military assistance. You never took our fort as our banners still fly above it. One pirate victory with changed numbers for propaganda purposes does not decide a war, Winchesters. We will not surrender to nobles with demeanors of pouty children nor to nobles who must hide behind vassalization after a few losses."

He adds a final note in response, "As for this 'spy' he was removed for stabbing one of my soldiers in the chest & causing discord within the Invictus. We were also informed that he enslaved commonfolk prior to joining the Invictus righteous moral Winchesters. The druids and elves we have made a peaceful deal with so this is nothing more than rabble rousing."

Allynial gnashes her teeth after reading the letter. "Malin'leh iheiuhii, Aethos!" She curses. Stomping off with a rather less-than-happy expression.

"Winchesters, you've got hate from pretty much everywhere. They're mercenaries which means they were probably payed. You've brought it up on yourself."

Rotharr cannot tell if this is a mix up, or is genuinely correct...

Rotharr also notes he will go kill some dirty Winchesters later...

Augustus sighs slightly, weighing the sealed letter in his hands. Noticing the Winchester seal he frowns and consigns it to the fire,

"Probably some more illegitimate nonsense.."

Gekido reads his letter, smiling slightly. "Mmm... It seems the Mortals are killing eachother, makes my job easier." he laughs a single time and throws the letter to the side of the road.
