There was no hesitation in the faces of Uradir, the two Ith'ael and Orsino as they stood in the city square: Face to face with the man who would make their doom in life or death. Sorrow was for when their deed was complete.

First the King did say: Cease elves of Haelun'or you disrupt my balance. Then the elves did cease.

Then came his Lord, questioning his act. The Lord by name of Oliver, given a task by his Liege: Make peace with the elves without war or your head I shall have.

The Lord's fate seemed decided before he had the chance to act; the oak elves would offer no compromise.

The King of Oren sought to destroy his own Lord. He sought to destroy this Lord for power, for the King could not compete with the wealth and prosperity of dearest Savoie.

Into Haelun'or he marched. Demanding the high elves give in their sacred ideal, to permit the impure in elven lands, and allow his men to "guard" their city. They spat and smeared filth upon the library walls, desecrating the home of the pure.

This King had betrayed a bond which had echoed through history. He had taken his foot and desecrated Crimson Silver. Rather than helping those who had stood by his kindred's side for centuries, he turned to them and offered them only suffering and hardship.

Vydra sought to destroy the mali'aheral and their way of life. Their choice was singular, for they could not see themselves subjugated as Malinor had been. They could not permit the Mad King to destroy them and the Savoyards in one fell swoop.

There was no hesitation. There was no sorrow. There was only relief as the acid did flow.

And so he melted.

A grizzled looking Kalenz would stand before those of Haelun'or, his mind wracked with anticipation. And so he would speak:

"It was not we who started this fight, elves of Haelun'or. For Vydra sought to destroy us, our greatest allies and the bond which stood for centuries: Crimson Silver. He spat upon our stone, our elves and our books. His men ordering us to abandon our sacred ideal".

"I shall not yield to any man who shall say to the pure elf in his home: Lay down your sacred ways."

"I shall not yield to any man who says to the pure elf in his home: Abandon the way of Crimson Silver."

"It is this day we have stood with the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya. It is this day we stood with Crimson Silver. It is this day we stood for our way of life."

It was ended, and yet it had only just begun. Quietly he whispered.

"Ave Chivay".

"The Mali'aheral have gotten away with too much already, this should be their wake-up call. If the humans do anything less than full-scale war I will, honestly, be dissapointed." Verden says to himself, sitting in his office and reading over the day's events.

"Safeguard purity and suffer not the aggressor who would see the destruction of a righteous entity. Our actions were just and we shall endure. No outlander shall be permitted to bully us nor direct our course under brutish persuasion, all who violate our respect will feel acid upon their bodies without remorse."

Aelthir Tundrak shakes his head, letting out a Sensible ChuckleTM, "Ya done f*cked up now and there's no fixing this."

Orsino would retort from the walls of Haelun'or "At least we'll put up more of a fight than your pathetic village civilization, watching your people is like watching a acted out performance of human intrigue only with the actors who play Fenn Nobility also play Fenn Soldiers and Fenn Peasants."

Dwyn sits quietly off in the wilderness, having departed temporarily from his home in order to collect his thoughts and recover from the abuse of the mali'Aheral, his ears still cut short- though longer with thanks to a clerics gentle touch.

He reads over a few missives that had been forwarded to him in his absence, sipping quietly on tea as he sets a paper aside and finally picks up this very document.

His light eyes move over the page, his hand shaking slightly as he holds his cup as he realizes its a highelven missive, after a time though, he relaxes and sets both his cup and the paper aside, sighing softly and leaning his head back.

"Perhaps now this insanity will stop.. either it will.. or it will get worse."

Aelthir Tundrak looks back up, laughing. "Funny. Just the other day in the Dark Elven tavern you Mali'aheral tried to kill us. Six of you fought three of us, including Kalenz himself, and you were utterly defeated. Every last one of you was slain. No have no right to use the word 'pathetic' when you can be crushed so handily by the Mali'fenn."

"So your people won a tavern brawl, mighty as they must be. I suppose it won't be long until we submit to the Empire of Fenn!" Orsino cackles trying to take his mind off the human war

Zeusl looks over the chaotic city as it quiets back to rest. The books were saved. Nothing else actually mattered. He stops pondering and looks to the uncertain faces of the high elves below him.

"Do not let anyone question your beliefs."

 "Iyathantae ito Haelun'or."

"Maehr'sae hiylun'ehya."
