I've noticed, that when I try to log on, I get disconnected. I believe it's from the texture pack of the server. *Sigh*

The automatic downloading of the server's texture pack can be disabled if you go to the server list in your Multiplayer menu and click the Edit button when you have LotC selected. An option should then be available for you to disable server texture packs. Hopefully that helps!

The premises behind them not being permitted to wear armor is that they already negate 50% damage. Throw a Wraith a set of diamond armor and that's a nightmare waiting to happen. It's a balancing factor.

I suspect the lack of armor and slowness would be a detriment to many of these.
