The Bells of Petrus rang as a man with grey hair, dressed in immaculate white robes with a lorraine cross lied on the Cathedral’s altar. Father Branaford addressed the Bishop.

“Today we lay rest to his eminence, Bishop Kristoff, born Kristoffer Adolfus Wittlebach von Herrick. He was a dedicated Pastor, even though his diocesal reign was short in Petrus many know him in Leuvaarden simply as, Father Kristoff. Now we pray to the Saints and Aenguls to grant him safe passage across the gateways of the Skies.”

The Father opened a book of prayers.

“Oh God, most merciful and powerful grant Bishop passage to your first creation. Oh Aenguls and Saints watch over him as he walks towards the Gates of Paradise. May he rest in peace among the Martyrs and Saints Amen.”

After the words of the Father two order men lifted Kristoff’s body off the altar gently putting him on a stretcher. They and a congregation of a few faithful and friends follow as a few monks go in front of the order men singing Flexio chant while they carry him.

After some walking they get to Leuvaarden. They open a small grave humble, like the Bishop asked in his will. A soft hymn is heard from the monks and general populous as they mourn they’re old Bishop. Abbot Jude says a few words to the Congregation.

“Kristoff was a devout men...He should’ve had a quiet death, not be murdered by dwarves, Let’s all pray.”

Abbot Jude lowers his head as does the small congregation of people, they mutter a prayer before laying him to rest covering the body.

A puzzled Branaford would look over to the casket of the late Bishop Kristoff remembering the days of old. He retains a firm posture solemnly declaring, "A man of god, and a theologist. He favored tradition over the politics that once infested the depths of the faith in the days of the schism, he helped cultivate and make the Canonist Church what it is today, a truly traditional church. May the Creator take him by his side in the Seven Skies." Branaford then turns to the audience wiping a long tear running down his cheek.

Guy de Bar stands before the procession with a gaunt visage, gloved hands clasped firmly behind him. "I mourn Father Herrick's death, for he was a man of true devotion. He served faithfully as a man of the Order and as a clergyman. This vile act... this sacrilege, will not go unpunished, I assure you that. We will afford the stouts no clemency, as they afforded none to a man of God," Guy de Bar declares, his teeth gritting as he takes his leave bitterly.

The Bishop Humbert de Bar attended the ceremony, shedding a single tear for his once fellow bishop, a true virtuous and honorable prince of the church. He remembered when Kristoff had stood by the Canonist Church along him when it was in its darkest hours. When the throne of the Pontiff was in danger Kristoff valiantly fought for the cause he believed in.

"God, Almighty Creator of all that is holy and Guide of this mortal realm, show this man up the path to the Seven Skies. Allow his soul to reach your glory, and may he rest forever in eternal bliss.

Requiem æternam dona eis, Domine,
et lux perpetua luceat eis.
Requiescant in pace. Amen."

He mutters a prayer of rest for the soul of the late bishop.

Lorien watches from afar, a wine glass full of an odd, spicy, pumpkinny liquid. After a painfully delicate sip, he ***** his head.

"You would think they celebrate the life of the deceased, not mourn his death... They should all believe that they shall see him again, anyway? Afterlife and all that rubbish..."

With that, the warlock trundles off.

"Hypocritcal, ironic religion... Pah..."

((My advice; make a COMPLETELY different char now. Enjoy all aspects of RP :). Well done on getting this far on your first char! If you want ideas for a new char, or perhaps a character to parent them, PM me! ))

Edit: 'S h a k e s' is now a swear word???

Simon speaks the prayer, both his hands clutched togheter piously. His eyes are wet with tears, as he watches two of his Amyasian footmen lower the heavy stone slab onto the tomb he had ordered for dear Father Kristoff, and sealing it forever.
