What is a GM’s role in the community, and how would you see yourself fitting in it as a GM?:

A GM’s role is to moderate the community, to settle disputes between players, deal with those who break the rules, and help players with their problems or questions. Players also generally look to the GM team for leadership, and the GMs enact the Admins’ goals for the server.

Why are you applying to be a GM?:

Right now I’ve been on the FM team for almost a year. I’ve seen a lot of what goes into moderating the server and the playerbase, and I feel like I have a pretty good handle on what would be required of the job and could contribute.

The most impactful GM’s the server has had have always done more than the basic duties of a Global Moderator. What aspects of LotC aside from universal GM duties would you be willing to delve into?:

Lore and events are something I’d be interested in possible helping out with, and I’d be willing to lend support to ET for their events when needed. FM team is still best team, though, and I’d like to continue forum moderating. Of course, that’s up to the team leaders.

What members of the staff and/or community could you look to for guidance of these additional responsibilities?:

On the subject of event work I would look to the ET leader for instructions and guidance on that matter. Listening to the team leaders and members with more experience on that team is very important for GMs to do, I think, so they don’t mess up out of ignorance. Swgrclan is also someone I would go to for advice, as he’s a friend and an exemplary ET.

What faults do you believe other members of the community see in you, and how do you intend to improve on these perceived faults, if necessary?:

Some people might have the impression I’m biased against certain factions on the server, and all I can really say to that is that I try to do my best to treat people equally both in personal and professional interactions, whatever my opinion of them may be, and to only form an opinion on someone based on their own actions rather than who they associate with. Usually if I find myself getting upset at something I step back in order to calm down and look at it from a different perspective, and I will continue to do that.

How much free time do you have? Will this change in the foreseeable future?:

College can sometimes keep me busy for a week or two, but for the most part I have a decent amount of free time. Kinda depends. Anyway, I don’t see my schedule changing drastically any time soon. So yup, that's all.

Birdwhisperer is a great person to be added to the GM team. Although in the past she may have been seen as a harsh FM from my experience, it is clear that is no longer the case anymore. She is also extremely mature, and knows the simple difference between situations that are just joking around to situations where people are getting harassed, which some staff members seem to lack. I defiantly shall give her my support in light that she will become a extremely good GM.

It was regular January night in my office, nearly hitting the eleventh hour. I was deep in a case, and a bottle of scotch. Figures that the case would match the weather - in that it had gone cold. I had clients breathing on my neck at all sides, and my reputation was down the john. I needed a new case. One I could crack. And then, she walked into my office.

I could tell the moment I saw her, she weren't no low-town doll. She covered herself up well, but she was a class act, through and through. She wasn't one for chit-chat, she got right down to business. Offered me a job. A tough job. But I wasn't in this business to ride the gravy-train to Jacksonville. The only work for a guy like me lies in the scummiest places, that well-to-do P.I.s wouldn't touch. She gave me a piece of paper. It had a name, and a list of questions, each answered in relative detail. It was everything I needed.

"And what is it you want me to do with this "Boidwhasperer" dame, dollface?" I ask her. I know there was still scotch on my breath, so made my question brief. She leaned on my desk, and eyed me closely like I was an old, stinking fish. She spoke to me real quiet, and slow.

"I want you to support it on the LotC forums."

I didn't say a word, at first. There was something twisted in this job. Too simple. Too clean. I didn't like it.

I lit up a cigarette, and read over the document one more time. "What's the catch?"

She just smiled at me - a smile that would enrapture a younger man - and walked away from my desk. She turned to me once more as she stepped into the doorway. "You have to write it in the form of a 50's film noire."

Now everything was out in the open. This job had blood on it. Bad blood. But work was work for a guy like me. "What's the payment?"

She looked at me differently, now. I didn't know what it was in her eyes. They were an enigma now more than ever. And then she said two words that would haunt me for the rest of my life. "My gratitude."

And with that, she waltzed out of my office.

Women. The greatest thing on God's earth. Nine times out of ten I'd say that. Tonight was that lonely one tenth. But I had a job to do, and I wasn't going to give up on it just yet.
