I agree with Wardog.

But Phaedrus is definitely notable. I didn't play for 7 months and he was the first person to come to my mind when I thought of people. Give yourself some credit, jeez.

And the section could definitely use some guidelines, I think.

I'm going to address a few things on the wiki page as well. This is supposed to be objective history.

There should be no argument, is he the most well known High Elf or is he not? Focus on the subject at hand and describe WHY he is the most well known High Elf ever.

Fantastic. What did he do with his power and fame/infamy to make himself a notable character though? Why is this relevant information?

Bahahahahahahahahahahaha

Who ever called Leric this? He was never with Malinor so how could he have possibly betrayed them? He fought against them, he did not betray them. Phaedrus is more becoming of that title considering he was a military commander for Haelun'or before betraying them.

This back patting is getting ridiculous. Keep this in mind when you're going to be making edits or additions from now on.

Jester, played by Slic3man, could be considered a noteable figure if one was to look at it from an OOC standpoint. He assassinated nobility, led the Teutonic Order and practiced necromancy all in one life, and to wrap it all up became a lord of death and decay in the end.

I would say the same for my character, Abdiel Ipos, as he led the Anthosian Iblees Cult in 3.0, attempted to infiltrate a number of guilds in subterfuge missions and led the Eventide incursion on Malinorian lands. He, too, practiced necromancy and became Gravelord Nimdravur in the end. Like I mentioned, these kinds of characters could be seen as OOC-noteable based on their actions and influences, but not IC because of elaborate, villainy-oriented disguises and deceptive ploys.

Specifically in Athera.

Although, I think it should be more of IC significance. People your character would grow up hearing stories about, etc, not people that did important stuff but never got

Notable Elves of Athera, not Notable Elves of History. Kalenz, The First, Phaedrus...some other people.

P.S. -Though I appreciate the mention Jade, Salamandra should not be on this list, period!

The only elves who have majorly shaped the history of this map for all elves are:

  • Kalenz Uradir | Unitary Elven State, Led the punitive wars against Cerulin
  • Phaedrus | Broke the Unitary Elven State
  • Avern'dionne | Led the High Elven return and recapture after the genocide
  • Artimec Camoryn | Reforged Laureh'lin when Phaedrus faltered, made a new identity for the elves in Cerulin

Everyone else may have, however, changed things majorly for their subrace. But the ones who defined elven history on this map are listed above.

If you want, in my opinion, the most politically influential elves ever?

  • High Prince Native
  • High Princess Sythera | Effectively destroyed the political position of the elves in her madness
  • High Princess Titania | Held together the sinking ship that was Malinor
  • Kalameet Izalith | The Doom Bringer to Malinor. Reestablished a unitary elven state.
  • Kalenz Uradir | United the elves post Conclave, led the high elves three times.
  • Artimec Camoryn | Resisted both Kalameet's and Kalenz's unification efforts with splinter elven factions
  • Phaedrus | Shattered Elven unity, to make a more "equal" state.

Yes, Elorna is important. Yes, Jester is important. Yes, Dwyn is important. Yes Lucion Sullas is important. Yes, Lafthi Sylvaeri is important. Yes Durion Uradir is important. However, I can tell the majority of the history of the elves with the 6 figures listed above. If I remove any of those 6, a huge chapter in history goes missing.

Everyone else, while they may be well known or have done things did not bring widespread and permanent change to the elves.

You might have been well known, but being well known does not mean change occured as a result.

Any elf who noticeably changed the history of one of the major elven states (laurehlin and haelunor) is notable in my eyes. And maybe the individuals who LED those nations have a bit of a say in who those people were.

...just saying.

I agree with what was said here. But the descriptions are heavily biased, your basically saying anything that wasn't done by the high elves is bad, during the Athera time.

Honestly, just by looking at what the humans are doing on the wiki, it seems all the recent kings are there. I'd imagine a chronological list of leaders as well as heavily important 'others' would be best, especially to help new players reading the wiki get a since of perspective.

Maybe in a section called 'Rulers' of Athera, but I think the Human section for this should be changed a bit to only feature the truly 'notable.'

That could also be feasible.
