You know, i'm not bothered about VA/MA stuff, not that much really. i'm not bothered that the staff need time to deal with this. The thing that i am bothered with and the thing that i am well and truly disgusted with is the community, i have observed for the past 2 days and instead of discussing things like normal, civilized human beings, you all ((not all of you, but yeah most of you)) lower yourselves to argue, harass, name call, even go as far to insult people to the worst possible degree who you don't even know other than them being staff, you don't know who they are as a person but just because they spent some time making something you don't like do you think for even a second that it gives you the right to create idiotic memes, throw insults at people and so on. You shouldn't be ashamed of the staff, you should be ashamed of yourselves for being so immature. 

TL;DR - Act your age, not your shoe size.

We know them pretty well. We know their attitude from various posts and Skype logs and we know what they're like as people from talking to them on the forums and IG. But we haven't been insulting individuals, we have been criticising a decision by the staff team and we've made a fuss because that's the only way to get this reverted. If the players complain enough, the staff usually do what the playerbase wants even if it takes a while. If we all sat back and said nothing, the chance of them reverting this would be way lower. They wouldn't be having a meeting today if it wasn't for all the feedback threads and the polls.

They're most likely just trying to find a time they can all be online. They don't have someone to make an executive decision right now so they're probably just trying to get everyone in one skype/teamspeak chat so they can all be on the same page and figure out a way to make it up to everyone.

 

Pretty sure staff has a general chat just for them on Skype and Skype is completely free of any variation of time restriction. People could easily field a question and over the span of a day get feedback on the matter for response, as they should have the moment the community started blowing up. That they've said they're going to officially respond to the community is good. That it's going to take even more time, when the outcome should be blatantly one-sided given the majority's reaction, is cause for concern.

I 100% agree they should've acted much faster, but perhaps they're also taking this time to talk about how to deal with the problems VA's were meant to stop. Their next post will most likely not only include the removal of VA's but also a promise made that people who are a problem will be dealt with (And hopefully an apology for putting VA's back on the server.)

I feel like threats of DDOS aren't against the server, but are against specific staff members, which is harder to stop.

There's really not anything to talk about or discuss, and milling it over will just cause more unrest and distrust to brood and fester. When you have a boil, you lance it, you do not wait for it to grow larger and explode in a disgusting mess. The best thing to do would simply remove the VAs for now, acknowledging that this was a mistake. The community more than likely would be more saited if the staff admits they are human and are susceptible to human error. You can't be forgiven until you admit you were wrong.

 

Or rather, you cannot be forgiven until you acknowledge you made a mistake. Most, if not all of us, know that it was an attempt to make the server better. We're simply saying THIS is not the right way to go. It's been stated time and time again its not going to. And Native, both you and I were here for the start of the server. You and I both know how good it was, how good it can be without them.

 

Both of us know that back then, the staff team was deeply in touch with the community. I still remember when you and I would talk about that amazing bathrobe of yours or have stupid conversations about coffee. I remember being roleplayed with for my tickets when Respiren was a GM. Yes I know he was a total butt, but when I was new to the server, and that was my first modreq, that impressed me. That cemented my love for this server. That is why I keep coming back even as this spirals to the ground.

 

The staff needs to step back down to the level we are, and realize while they have the abilities of admins, GMs, and what have you, they are still players. If they move from our perspective, they'll be able to better realize what the server needs, because they will be part of the community mindset and be able to see from our point of view, the problems hindering the server.
