I'm just curious as what is going to happen to those who worked to get those magics? Are their characters just **** out of luck and wasted their time?

This is kind of stupid then, they're gonna tell people who worked hard for the magics they have just to be told that they can't use them anymore because they aren't as popular?

To make a point, the magic system and it's current canon is as good as it'll get. All it needs is one big coherent thread to tie everything together - not an entire retcon.
