Updated Forum Rules

Hello LotC!

 

For the last few weeks the FMs have been helping me update the forum rules, which I'm pleased to be able to release to you now. 

The old rules have been difficult to access ever since the forums changed, and this should amend that. 

 

For those interested in what was actually changed:

- Several rules were repetitive, and have been merged together.

- Some rules were entirely obsolete and have been removed.

- Some rules were phrased poorly, and effort has been made to make them clearer.

- The smiley faces previously found next to almost every rule have been removed. 

- Rules and information regarding Forum Warns, Forum Bans and appealing both of these have been added.

- The rules meant specifically for the roleplay section have been replaced with a link to the roleplay forum's guidelines.

 

When browsing the results of the latest community survey, I noticed some concerns about how these forum rules are moderated. So I'm happy to let you all know that following the release of these updated forum rules, I'll be re-doing and updating the Forum Moderator handbook/guide with the intent to create a bit more consistency in regards to Forum Moderating.

PS: For those that have been wondering, I'm pretty sure the Monthly Voting competition is on pause until a new way of obtaining the results is made available.
