Looks fantastic. When will it be put on LoTC?

I'd like to see how Obelisk performs alone on the server for a bit extra time, but in the next few days we should see RoleplayEngine surface for sure since it is already completed.

Do you believe that Obelisk will change the way or role play and perhaps be easier for the newcomers?

I've been on the server for almost 4 years and I didn't know half of these commands. Very helpful <3

I am not including a cooldown to be fun and enticing. This may be a controversial matter but what I know for certain is that chat on Lord of the Craft is far too cluttered. Like give me a break, the moment you have more than a few people speaking in a group it is difficult to even comprehend what is going on and catch up with the flood of text. Being able to read things from top-to-bottom and know that every individual section is 1 person and not 3 interrupting one another is very important.

Say that you've got an issue you want to cover but you can't do it in one line. You don't press enter after one line and keep typing because very soon your message will scroll all the way up and be eaten by waves of text. Use continuity and append your message, send your message when you are ready. (5 seconds, is not a lot).

Suppose you get hit by the cooldown monster—just press the up arrow and try again in a bit. You haven't lost your message.

One of my philosophies for RoleplayEngine is that it is time that we fix chat clutterIt is time we make chat readable. That is why I send 'Nobody heard you' in a different line, why I send 'You need to wait X before typing' in the different line. This is why I've added continuity and this is why I am putting my foot down and cooldowns will stay—don't even ask. We can deal with 5 seconds in RP (Undertone/Whisper notwithstanding) and 20 seconds in shout. But I love you guys and we will give this a shot and if some of the cooldown timers are too much they can be changed in realtime while we are online so it's not a problem making changes.

You are implying that the reason that a group chat is confusing is because people are spamming. Which isn't correct. Nobody is ever putting pointless messages out. If they are they are going to get kicked for spam, or they are just trolling, or whatever. This cooldown change doesn't help group chats being more confusing. Your change where you can continue chat messages so you send one big one not one like 2 separate emotes.

Any amount of cooldown is a lot, because it is 100% unnecessary 99.9% of the time. If someone is spamming in chat, which I have literally never had someone come and spam in any way other than friends /t'ing each other for shits and gigs, modreq and get em kicked or whatever. Don't punish everyone else for the literal unicorn of LotC.

Wow Telanir, that's a cool idea, that's helpful to the server. But this attitude where you are literally ignoring all feedback is stupid. You don't play on the server as much as a lot of people-- You probably care about it a lot more, and put more time into it that a lot of people, but you are coding and being an admin, not roleplaying and getting an actual sense of what is annoying to deal with. I guarantee a pointless cooldown will be added onto that 'annoying to deal with' part.

2 problems with this

A: Attacking mentally challenged people for something like this? It's not related.

B: It isn't looking stupid, and Space does have a point. The prevention of spam has been dealt with mostly by the Application Team... I have NEVER been spammed before ON THIS SERVER, probably a rare occurrence is just when my friends are trolling me a little and I don't mind that crap. The only difference the cool down will make is a bunch of people feeling as if they've got the gods shutting them the **** up for 5 seconds until they can type again.

As long as updates like those are kept simple I've no problem with it. Though much larger things I'd expect; would be brought to the community or at least mentioned.

Eh I noticed you have a cooldown in talking in RP. Can that be disabled?

Cool down is always risky. My eyes into the future already tell me that complaints will rain down with cooldown for rp.
