What kind of event would you like to see?

I really like the ice idea, so just to add onto it.

All the races will have to live together in one giant city in the warmest region to fight off the cold. All hope seems lost, people dying of hypothermia or starvation. But the people could start off desperate searches for a way out. A group may stumble upon a portal guarded by an ancient beast, and the people have to fight it off as one to enter the portal and get to the new realm.

And another thing I want to see- alternate routes. What if no one found the portal? What would they do? Maybe they'd have to build boats. The journey would take longer, but eventually they might find another way to get to the realm- like finding a tiny chain of islands containing a portal that can only be opened if enough people try.

Would you rather see the descendants pushed off our current land, or giving incentive to move themselves?

Pushed off

If you want to be pushed off, how so? If you want incentive, what would that be?

Portal or heck- some new kind of magic

Just be reasonable. No secrets, no big surprises, keep it simple with a slow frost or something like people have said.

Use a portal or similar if you want to avoid boat RP, avoid people wanting to get their boats back (like me), and so everything makes more sense with everyone just appearing at the Cloud Temple.

What kind of event would you like to see?

There's no specific kind of event that I want to see, more so events I want to see avoided. Such as the two-day boat events, the over-powered antagonist that clearly has no weaknesses and half-assed events.

Would you rather see the descendants pushed off our current land, or giving incentive to move themselves?

Between the two, it's best to push off as not all cultures initially would actually leave and I doubt we'd want to kill off a race this way.

If you want to be pushed off, how so? If you want incentive, what would that be?

Make it a natural push, the plague would work well from the orcs and it could just start spreading all the faster, or have the server start corrupting the map again cause that always works out well.

How should we travel to the next map (boat, portal, etc)?

It doesn't matter as long as we're not stuck in the middle spot for days.

As a side note though, has there been an official "Roughly xyz date." post regarding 5.0 as of yet?

What kind of event would you like to see?: world eating worm Slowly approaching ice age

Would you rather see the descendants pushed off our current land, or giving incentive to move themselves?: Incentive

If you want to be pushed off, how so? If you want incentive, what would that be?: The discovery of warmer, fertile lands leading the descendants to colonize the new new new new new new new new new new world.

How should we travel to the next map (boat, portal, etc)?: Boats I suppose, or whatever the races figure out will be the best way to escape the frozen seas and lands.

+1 From me on this one

I think we should expand off on this idea. Due to our massive growth on Vailor and also the changing of times, an desirable ice age seems to have taken up residence here. The crops slowly begin to become frail and brown leaving us with no food and an epidemic ready to happen. Perhaps we could even do things where the races start to fight over the little food that is left and only the best farmers can get something out of the small crops that are left. Eventually we will somehow see this fighting as fruitless and decide to take our chances on leaving Vailor, only bringing very small possesions. (Maybe we should somehow be allowed to take 5 items or less that are deemed allowed by the staff team. Rp items more so, no materials besides what Nations recieve which goes to nation leaders.) Depending on what nation depends on how they choose to go about this journey and how many transportation devices the nation can have. For example Oren could perhaps have three ships that they choose to take with and support their population while say the orcs take only one large ship. There wil have to be rules about this surely that the staff can work out but you get the point. Maybe depending on the resources a nation can provide determines the amount of ships or whatever (ex: Mina and building materials).

Also, while on the ships there could be possible events where we have to break the ice to free the ships or fix the hull of the ship because it hit a iceberg. Even one where you have to save your fellow nation members on another vessal because the vessal is sinking in the freezing water maybe! Perhaps the nations can figure out ways to hire bards, jesters, or storytellers to make the journey easier. Hell we could even do a whaling even of some sorts if we wanted to get food. ETs could possibly pose as a band of mutinies on board that the nation members must stop from taking over the ship so they don't have to jump overboard to another ship. Or they may fail and have to do just that, jump. Who Knows? Another thing is the possibility of bring live stock for those of us RP breeders, the struggle to keep 'em alive. There's a lot of potential in all of this, you just have to think a lil about what it had been like to be on a ship back in medieval times, traveling through icy waters.

Also like to mention that maybe somehow the ice age and everything relate to next map's lore if possible.

I feel that an incentive would be better, we've had enough forceful escapes from previous realms. Perhaps this time it could be as simple as explorers findng a new realm and then everyone else following in their tracks. I feel travel by boat would be best, portals always seemed a bit random, while ships feel more adventurous.

I'd like to see the Orcish plague seize the land and force us to leave. Also, to whomever is working on the new map, the Orcs would like a mix of jungle and Savannah. Thank you.

Yeah, though to me, I haven't seen much rp about it.

I want orcs to live in a cold mountain place! :I

Introduction of next map's antag but in such a way that each playerbase / nation gets their own customized antagonist with opportunities for 'evil' groups to influence and interact with the antags of each playerbase. (And no persona Race advantages for the antags to be abused at later dates.)

Forced. If we get a new map we're all going to be in that "Cool new place," making the current map nothing more than a giant storage locker anyway.

Sit down with each nation and discuss what sort of antag would honestly present decent entertainment and challenge whilst approaching some of the 'evil' guilds and presenting them with opportunities to work alongside the antag forces. If done properly, antags could have a maintained presence and more dynamic feel, instead of the typical mob sessions with very little RP follow up. Once done, present a build-up of sorts that can't be stopped this map but acts as a sort of tutorial for what may occur next map if nothing is actively done to stop the antags.

Anything but boats if I am to be completely honest. Sitting around with 80+ people in a tiny cramped space whilst literally nothing happens around us is boring.

What kind of event would you like to see? Something natural that happens to Vailor which makes us move like that ice age idea. A massive flood would be a good idea.

One idea which would be really good is that VOLCANO actually being used, it can erupt and cause us all to flea.

Would you rather see the descendants pushed off our current land, or giving incentive to move themselves? Pushed off please.

If you want to be pushed off, how so? If you want incentive, what would that be? Maybe boat rp but limit. Don't want hours and hours of boat rp. Or we stumble upon a portal far west or far away from the volcano (if that idea is used).

How should we travel to the next map (boat, portal, etc)? Either one would do but don't want hours and hours of boat rp.

What kind of event would you like to see?:

I would like to see an ice age dooming up around the corner making farming impossible.

Would you rather see the descendants pushed off our current land, or giving incentive to move themselves?:

Incentive. Without any means of food collection we would eventually run out and starve.

If you want to be pushed off, how so? If you want incentive, what would that be?

We would slowly begin to run out of food as the temperatures get lower. forcing us to take action and most likely leave the continent in search of hotter and more fertile lands.

How should we travel to the next map (boat, portal, etc)?

if there would be an ice age the ocean would probably be frozen solid around us making boats useless. but we could use carts to move over the ice looking for land with thinner ice around it and using that place as a rest stop to build boats? (could be a great thing to do in the meantime of the map change.)

What kind of event would you like to see?: Colonization of new lands.

Would you rather see the descendants pushed off our current land, or giving incentive to move themselves?: Giving incentive.

If you want to be pushed off, how so? If you want incentive, what would that be?: Possible assumption

of new characters in colonies of Oren, or Laureh'lin (etc. doesnt matter)

How should we travel to the next map (boat, portal, etc)?: Use overseas transport (boats.)

I'd like to see a natural dissaster.

Would you rather see the descendants pushed off our current land, or giving incentive to move themselves?

We should be pushed off, if you say the descendants need to take the initiative some people will say they want to stay and cause a lot of trouble.

If you want to be pushed off, how so? If you want incentive, what would that be?

Natural dissaster. Everything we once had being destroyed, various groups cluster together in fear as they await a solution. In the end nation leaders decide to use their national fleets to move all the people they can over to a different continent.

How should we travel to the next map (boat, portal, etc)?
Just have a boat, boat RP is fun, but not when it takes about 8 hours and the map actually transfers at 4 AM..

Short:
I want a natural dissaster forcing us off, nation leaders ship everyone off by boat, but make sure you guys keep all timezones in mind so you don't spoil the fun of being the first to step the continent for any timezone by doing it during midnight.

What kind of event would you like to see?:

Ice age

Would you rather see the descendants pushed off our current land, or giving incentive to move themselves?: Pushed off

If you want to be pushed off, how so? If you want incentive, what would that be?: I think a series of events where people are pushed off their land by the encroaching cold would be amazing, people in the snowy areas like Norland, Dwarves, and Gorundyr forced to leave their homes and take refuge somewhere else. Then Oren is forced to move on(Knowing them it would give them an excuse to warclaim a desert area to move.). Then eventually even the sands are frozen over.

How should we travel to the next map (boat, portal, etc)?

Boats, I loved the rp on the boats after Athera. I'd be nice for that nameless king dude to show up again, I liked that event on the last transition.

I think an incentive to leave creates more opportunity for RP. For example, conflict over whether to leave or not becomes a possibility.
