The Ivory Mandate, 1577

 

For many a generation, ivory has been a coveted treasure for men and women ranging from Kings to lowly paupers. The beautiful white material can be found in all sorts of marketplaces, the booty of a brave hunter's trip, taken from the dangerous beasts that roam our vast lands. Now, in the passing years we've seen a disturbing decline in the supply despite the ever growing demand for the commodity in the Imperial Court.

 

Some so-called natural scientists will claim that we've hunted the animals to extinction, but the Imperial Treasury begs to differ. To the south there lies a great forest, teeming with giant beastfolk who murder their kin for sport and see glory in the capture of  children, cripples and clergymen. Praising their cruel demon gods who once ravaged our old home of Vailor to the point of exodus.

 

Krug's spawn can carry up to four tusks upon their jaws and The Imperial Treasury pays all courageous hunters who dare bring us their ivory.

The current price is at fifty silvers ((minas)) per tusk.
