Wrynn 1349 Share Posted October 12, 2016 After a long wait heists are now being implemented onto the server! The first poll that was made regarding heists began back on the 15th of May, where 83% of people whom voted said they would like for it to be implemented into the server! The system has changed slightly since then as we've updated it over the months. You'll be run through what a heist is, how you can file to preform a heist and how they work. Hopefully this system will bring some pretty good thievery roleplay to the server, as it's a type of roleplay that hasn't exactly been the best represented in the past. What is a Heist? The first thing to know about a heist, is that it is purely meant for roleplay. We're introducing the system to encourage a new type of roleplay that the server has been welcoming towards. This new system will allow you to 'preform a heist' on a location in which you will devise a plan on how to steal goods from. Ideally you'd be better off not getting caught - as nobody likes to goto jail! When a heist is being preformed, the attackers are able to lockpick chests at their target location. However don't fret as we do have some restrictions that will make sure you don't get completely emptied if a heist is performed on you. How do I conduct a Heist? If your group would like to conduct a heist, all you have to do is fill out the format and send it via PMs on the forums to Wrynn, this ensures that the location you wish to perform the heist on doesn't know you're going to be doing it. Quote [Heist Format] Target Location: *give co-ordinates and screenshots of the area. Date / Time: Thieves Involved (include MC name and RP name): Goal of Heist: Roleplay Leading to Heist: *include as many screenshots as possible of roleplay. Additional Notes: There are a few things that should be mentioned however before you start to fill out the format! Since the heist system is to encourage roleplay, you need to have a valid roleplay reason to perform a heist on a location. If the GM overseeing the heist feels that there is not enough roleplay leading upto the heist, they may decline your request to conduct a heist. This is to ensure that people are using heists for roleplay. The date/time of the heist must be during active hours of the server. If an inactive time is put down, the overseeing GM is able to request for the time to be changed. This is to ensure that the defenders do have a chance to retaliate back if they catch onto the fact that a heist is being performed. The heist must have between 5 - 10 players, this is to make sure that the group doesn't get so large that the moderating GMs can still moderate the amount of players, and also so that a GMs time is not wasted. Once you've filled out this format, and sent it to Wrynn; providing it meets criteria - you will then be queued to have your heist on a specific date and time! How does the Heist work? Come the time and date of the heist, all you need to do is simply contact the GM who has organised the heist with you, and you can begin to try and steal goods from the target location. Currently there will be two GMs overseeing the heist to make sure that no bias occurs and a reminder that heists should be try to be done in roleplay. Since we are now in the "Heist Scenario" there are a few changes to the current rules that are only applicable during the heist, they are as follows; TNT is allowed to be used RPly by players. This means that if a player has brought TNT with them - they will emote using the TNT on a door/vault etc, the GM will then take the TNT, and appropriately remove the lock on the barrier. We don't allow the actual use of TNT to make sure no griefing occurs. The normal roll system is in place, however chests can now be lock-picked from. Heist Rules There are a few rules that follow the Heist, to make sure the system isn't misused or abused. They are as follows; The attackers are not able to use fast-travel to get to their location. The only time this is acceptable is when travelling across maps(from 1 land to ct to another) Attackers are only permitted to wear leather or chain armor. Mounts such as horses may not be used inside the target location of the heist, however can be used to travel outside of the location of the heist. The attackers, whom are performing the heist are only able to use two slots in their inventory. Here is an example of the slots in your inventory that you are allowed to use. *The red slots define which slots in your inventory you are allowed to use. This means you are only allowed to use these slots at the start and end of the heist, meaning you will have to choose wisely what things you wish to take from the location and who is taking what. The overseeing GMs will be checking for this, and any items which step-outside of this criteria will just be removed from your inventory. If you have chosen to use one of these slots for a stackable item you may only carry 20 of that item in one slot. For example you are only allowed to have 20 cobblestone in 1 slot, anything over that will be removed from your inventory. However if it is an item that you are able to eat (eg bread) you may carry a full stack in 1 slot. Heist Cooldowns Victory for Defenders: Location is not able to be targeted for 2 weeks. Victory for Attackers: Location is not able to be targeted for 1 month. *A victory for the defenders is when the attackers are unable to gain anything from the heist, and are instead caught. *A victory for the attackers is when the heist is performed with succession and items are successfully stolen. Ideas for Heists You must have seen a few heist movies before, and I'm sure you'll get some idea from those. However if you're stuck for ideas - you have to remember that this is roleplay and you can operate the heist however you like (try not to get caught though, it's a heist). Perhaps you'll send two of your men to keep the guards occupied, and the other three will work on breaking the vault open to get the goods. Whatever the case have fun when you're performing heists! [The heist system will be put on a trial run, in which values may change depending on how the system comes work at the end of the run]

You shouldn't need a weapon if you're planning to not get caught. Remember it's about RP not PVP. Also, we can check enderchests @Shalashask

I believe the system will grow redundant in the next few weeks once people try it once and realise its flaws.
KeatonUnbeaten 1103 Share Posted October 12, 2016 Yeah, not sure why its simply two slots of the toolbar- thieves would be prepped incase a heist went loud, probably with weapons and bearing armours (also, if someone is wearing a skin that has plate or such, they should be allowed iron or prot, etc). I agree with this guy: 11 minutes ago, GrimReaper98 said: >not having weapons incase the heist goes loud ok ok ok I honestly really dislike this system, it's really restrictive and has no incentive to actually perform one. Bvie 1754 Share Posted October 12, 2016 This system was voted on in May. Thats 5 months ago. Groups have changed, ideologies have changed, maps have changed. I'd say have another vote about the proposed system as people obviously have questions and issues with it from this post alone and then make adjustments. Sky 0 Share Posted October 12, 2016 Sure, heists in the movies and television shows have them being all super sneaky thieves, however I'm pretty sure on the server people would go with armour and weaponry, considering the only places that is worth performing a heist for would be your enemies and they tend to have a guard force. Why not keep it to your armour slots, shield slot and bar slots. The only complaint I can see against this would be 'but they may steal a lot of my stuff' but that's the point of heists, big risk for big reward.
