Seasons Greetings.

I won't delve deep into anything here, I do not believe such is necessary, but I wished to gather information and data in regards to the opinion of the current map, the transition, the lore and the events all for Axios. We all know it isn't as good as it could be, and because of that I'd like to gauge the collective consensus as to how this map is being received.

Why? Well, I want to ensure our next map (don't worry, it won't be for at least another year) is as well received, well prepared and well rounded as possible for everyone. To do this, I need to know what makes Axios great, what makes Axios terrible and why such is the way it is.

So please, fill out the form and comment below! The more data, the more information the better. You'll offend no one on this thread in regards to your opinion of this map so please, I implore you, let loose and do not refrain from giving your opinion.

Obviously I am going to be unable to ask questions which cover the entire range, so simply state your additional opinions below!

Thanks in advance!

-Thomas

Far too large for our current playerbase in my opinion, everyone only really RP's in Tahn.

since yes or no doesn't relaly cover what i want to say here:

Now, by favourite isle, what exactly do you mean? The one I role-play on most? The one that I feel is easiest to get around? The one that looks nicest? Because all three of those are different isles. I primarily RP on Tahn, since that's where the majority of the player-base is, but Ceru is the nicest looking by far. On top of that, Asul is the easiest to navigate as there is a road from point x to point y that's very clear cut (too bad there's nothing there anymore Cx).

Settlements aren't too bad right now, but give it a few months and we'll have exactly what we did in Vailor.

The map is much too large. It looks very nice but - lets be real, the whole wonder of "woah that looks cool!!" is lost after about 2-3 weeks of release. Then it just gets to "oh cool the same tree but i've seen it 100 times now because i've had to walk for 10 minutes". The fact that most people can't even cook reliable food doesn't help the whole running about issue either. I personally would like an Athera sized map again, but this time not have absolutely disabled city/nation placements that make warring capitals 50 blocks away.

Whilst I'm sure the Lore was nice for the map's release, it's fairly irrelevant. Maybe 10% of people judge a map's success on its lore, possibly even less. The Lore of the map should definitely influence the over all style, but should by no means ever be a defining factor - Lore feels fairly irrelevant in map design imo.

Not really. Either some trees and ruins would've been edited about a bit within that time, or it would've just been made larger anD WE'VE ALREADY STATED HOW MUCH WE LOVE THAT.

Considering it came out late, I highly doubt it. It felt like much too much effort went into this map and the one time use things littering it (ruins, the hydra, other stuff).

Absolutely. If you are going to actually base a map around its lore, not having an event pertaining to why we are on this map or why its like it is is a bit ridiculous.

It's ok. It's nice to have everywhere be a tile for documentation purposes etc, but trying to base regions around it is finicky and annoying.

I think an Athera sized map with sensible nation placements, with all land already being designated to nations at the map start would not only stop the snowball effect of endless settlements, but would also stop discrepancies with "oh you own this land oh you own that land".

When people claimed Anthos was too big, Athera was made too small. (Not to mention every nation was situated on on the same road.)

When Athera was made to small you brought in Vailor and Axios which were too big, I miss running between capitals instead of fast travels. Anthos and Fringe were perfect sizes in my opinion.

Moving back to simplistic Nexus free vanilla minecraft on a more detailed map with a greater layout is the ideal turn out for me. Fast travels and crafting have changed the dynamic of the server and I feel that it isn't for the better.

Realistically, Anthos wouldn't stay flooded because it's so small in the scheme of the world, that I doubt the North alone would raise water levels enough to submerge everything.

i like the builds and the cities but honestly i would have liked it if there were only two island at most, of nearly equal size

The only things I feel need to be added to my response is that I think both the lore and the tile system for this map were good but were poorly executed.

Map's too large IMO, decreases the good looks of the general map and wilderness as it becomes quantity over quality.

Perfect sized map IMO was Anthos, medium-ish, walkable but still took time to get around compared to Athera.

Tile system is broken in the way it exponentially increases in price per nation based on the tiles their own, albeit I personally have no idea how to solve this.

Though I don't think the map was 'rushed' per say, I do think the time-frame they gave players to pre-build was very short. There was not enough terrain diversity to make interesting builds and forced nations to pump out a city rather than make a quality one.

As for events, yes. We should probably get to work on some antagonist or story-line so people can feel more immersed in the map rather than just considering it a farming space.

Settlements are fine, though succession states shouldn't be instantly accepted without RP reasoning.

Lastly, I don't even know the current lore to this map so IDK.

I want to see more of the floating mountains that you can get in amplified world generation.

Yay my map's actually being used!

Here is the map for Vailor, to get a better idea of the changes in borders, settlements densities, etc.

Yeah this map is huge. The vast majority of the player base I have yet to RP with simply because I've literally never seen them. Once in a while my character travels, but it's normally a bit of a hassle.

I think Athera sized without the King's road would have been a decent, medium sized map. Also I don't have a problem with a few small islands but the Isles system makes the settlements on Ceru and Asul feel really isolated compared to Tahn's.

I can't remember specific polls but I thought most people were saying they wanted a small-medium map in the months coming up to Axios' release. Why was it made so large?
